Could God's plan for the lost be this simple?

You made a claim, I asked for proof.

You need to list more than one scholar.

It is NOT a well known fact, if it were then providing a list should be easy.

BUT only ONE scholar speculated about the existence of the Divine Name in early versions, and no other scholar agrees with him.
Then why did the divine name kjv come out in 2015? They put the name back in the OT( nearly 6800 spots) but left it out of the NT if they dont know it was God who willed his name in his inspired word?

Prove all things; hold fast that which is good. (1 Thess. 5:21 KJV)

Obeying scripture is good, not wicked.

Only a fool doesn't demand proof, because many false prophets have gone out into the world:

Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits, whether they are of God; because many false prophets have gone out into the world. (1 Jn. 4:1 NKJ)

Here is the text you are misinterpreting:

"A wicked and adulterous generation seeks after a sign, and no sign shall be given to it except the sign of the prophet Jonah." And He left them and departed (Matt. 16:4 NKJ)

Why is Christ correct? For two main reasons.

1 He's already did many signs Satan cannot do, like raise the dead. They asked for more signs, not to be convinced, but to accuse Him if He didn't comply.

2 Because we have scripture to test whether something is true or not.

Signs can be deceiving. The Lawless One will do "lying signs and wonders", that is, real signs that support lies:

The coming of the lawless one is according to the working of Satan, with all power, signs, and lying wonders, (2 Thess. 2:9 NKJ)

The false prophet will do lying signs, make fire come down from heaven to deceive those who dwell on the earth:

11 Then I saw another beast coming up out of the earth, and he had two horns like a lamb and spoke like a dragon.
12 And he exercises all the authority of the first beast in his presence, and causes the earth and those who dwell in it to worship the first beast, whose deadly wound was healed.
13 He performs great signs, so that he even makes fire come down from heaven on the earth in the sight of men.
14 And he deceives those who dwell on the earth by those signs which he was granted to do in the sight of the beast, telling those who dwell on the earth to make an image to the beast who was wounded by the sword and lived. (Rev. 13:11-14 NKJ)

The bible is clear--Be like the Bereans and make sure of all things. That means YOU must make sure of all things. Yes the son of destruction( peredition)2Thess 2:3) = the great apostasy = a house divided it will not stand. It rose up centuries ago and now has 33,998 confused branches.

We are not confused by Jesus Christ our LORD. All Christians confess He is God the Son, all within and without the World Council of Churches. So in a real essential way, we are all one in Christ.

That humans would disagree on other things is just being human.

But from the Titanic we learn an important lesson, without true compartmentalization the ship can sink rather quickly.

The End Time Apostasy won't overtake the ship of the church so quickly, it must breach 33,998 compartments before that can happen.

So what you slander as "confusion" is manifestly elegant design, it prevents sudden catastrophe.

Rom 14:10, But why dost thou judge thy brother? or why dost thou set at nought thy brother? for we shall all stand before the judgment seat of Christ. Rom 14:11, For it is written, As I live, saith the Lord, every knee shall bow to me, and every tongue shall confess to God. Rom 14:12, So then every one of us shall give account of himself to God. Rom 14:13, Let us not therefore judge one another any more: but judge this rather, that no man put a stumblingblock or an occasion to fall in his brother's way.

Here in this passage we are told that we shall all stand before the judgment seat of Christ and all of us must give account of ourselves before God. Every knee will bow to God and every tongue will confess to God. Notice that it does not say anywhere in scripture that every tongue shall confess that Jesus Christ is the Lord. In Philippians 2:9-11, we find that every tongue should confess that Jesus is the Lord. If it were true that every tongue shall confess that Jesus is the Lord, it would be a proof of Universalism; for no one can say that Jesus is the Lord unless the Holy Ghost is in them; the Holy Ghost dwelling in you, indicating salvation. But the reality is that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father. So, we will all stand before the judgment seat of Christ. Christ is the judge who will sit upon that Great White Throne of Judgment that is spoken of near the end of the book of Revelation. I quote the passage here.

Rev 20:10, And the devil that deceived them was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone, where the beast and the false prophet are, and shall be tormented day and night for ever and ever. Judgment at the Throne of God Rev 20:11, And I saw a great white throne, and him that sat on it, from whose face the earth and the heaven fled away; and there was found no place for them. Rev 20:12, And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened: and another book was opened, which is the book of life: and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works. Rev 20:13, And the sea gave up the dead which were in it; and death and hell delivered up the dead which were in them: and they were judged every man according to their works. Rev 20:14, And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death. Rev 20:15, And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire.

Here, the passage begins by defining for us what is the lake of fire. It is here defined as the lake of fire and brimstone, where they shall be tormented day and night for ever and ever. Now, there is a great white throne of judgment that our Lord Jesus Christ is sitting on (John 5:22, Acts 17:31, Isaiah 11:1-4). All who are standing before Christ in judgment will have the books opened that speak of what they did in their respective lives. For all, there will be things that are praiseworthy before God (Isaiah 57:12, 1 Corinthians 4:5). However, we are not saved by our works (Ephesians 2:8-9); while our works will be set forth as evidence of whether we had a genuine salvation in our lives that changed the course of our lives. If we had genuine salvation through faith in Christ's shed blood, our names will be found written in the Book of Life; and we will not be cast into the lake of fire. For those who are saved, the GWT judgment is a technicality. Because our names are already written in the Lamb's Book of Life, the broadcasting of our works in life will not be unto our names being written in that Book; but that broadcasting will make it evident the reasons why those who are saved by grace turned out to be worthy of heaven in the practical sense. We will already have been judged at another judgment seat of Christ, called the bema seat.

1Co 3:11, For other foundation can no man lay than that is laid, which is Jesus Christ. 1Co 3:12, Now if any man build upon this foundation gold, silver, precious stones, wood, hay, stubble; 1Co 3:13, Every man's work shall be made manifest: for the day shall declare it, because it shall be revealed by fire; and the fire shall try every man's work of what sort it is. 1Co 3:14, If any man's work abide which he hath built thereupon, he shall receive a reward. 1Co 3:15, If any man's work shall be burned, he shall suffer loss: but he himself shall be saved; yet so as by fire.

It is at this seat that our works will be set forth and the nature of what they were will be made evident; as to whether they were gold, silver, precious gems; or wood, hay, and stubble. This judgment is not to judge us as to whether or not we are saved. All those at the bema seat are redeemed through faith in Christ's shed blood. But the fire will try every man's work of what sort it is. If any man's work stands the test of fire, the person who did it will receive a reward. Notice that the fire here is not applied to the person himself, as though the fire being spoken of is the lake of fire and a refining factor in the life of the one to whom it is applied. There is a fire for the Christian that refines him...the fire of earthly trials. But allow me to say that if someone is cast into the lake of fire, it is because their name is not written in the Lamb's Book of Life...so life is not going to be the result of being cast into the lake of fire (I am addressing the false doctrine that the lake of fire is a refining and that all those who are cast therein will eventually and ulitmately be saved)...the lake of fire is identified as "the second death". So, at the bema seat, it is not us that will be subjected to the fire; rather, it is our works that will be subjected to the fire...and if anything was worthy of reward, it will stand the test of being subjected to the fire; and we will receive a reward. At the GWT judgment, it should be clear that while God will praise people for the good things that they did, those works ultimately will not profit them unto salvation if they were never redeemed by the blood of the Lamb. Again, we have these verses,

Isa 57:12, I will declare thy righteousness, and thy works; for they shall not profit thee.

1Co 4:5, Therefore judge nothing before the time, until the Lord come, who both will bring to light the hidden things of darkness, and will make manifest the counsels of the hearts: and then shall every man have praise of God.

Those who are saved are saved by grace through faith, and that not of themselves; it is the gift of God: not of works, lest any man should boast (Ephesians 2:8-9). However, those who are judged will be judged on the basis of their works; which also ultimately have a part in the final judgment of whether their names are written in the Book of Life. Those who have truly been redeemed through faith have the love of the Lord shed abroad in their hearts (Galatians 3:14, Romans 5:5) and therefore will have compassion on "the least of these His brethren" (Matthew 25:31-46). Their compassionate works do not save them but they will perform those works because they were saved and therefore the love of the Lord was shed abroad in their hearts. Without that love coming in, someone may even do the things spoken of in Matthew 25:31-46 and their works will not profit them. Jesus said, "Ye must be born again." (John 3:7b). Our salvation, our justification, comes solely through faith in the shed blood of Jesus Christ on the Cross (Romans 5:1, Romans 5:9, Romans 3:25).

Incorrect, while some versions read "should confess" in Philippians 2:11, the subjunctive mood of ἐξομολογήσηται is to be understood like the indicative in Romans 14:11 "every tongue shall confess to God" given these are both written by Paul and he is interpreting Isaiah where the idea some can choose to not confess, doesn't exist:

Isaiah 45:23 I have sworn by myself, the word is gone out of my mouth in righteousness, and shall not return, That unto me every knee shall bow, every tongue shall swear. (Isa. 45:23 KJV)

Compare these translations that agree:

Philippians 2:11 καὶ πᾶσα γλῶσσα ἐξομολογήσηται ὅτι κύριος Ἰησοῦς Χριστὸς εἰς δόξαν θεοῦ πατρός. (Phil. 2:11 BGT)

Philippians 2:11 and every tongue will acknowledge that Yeshua the Messiah is ADONAI- to the glory of God the Father. (Phil. 2:11 CJB)

Philippians 2:11 and every tongue would voice the acclamation: Kvrios Y—soûs Christòs ["Lord Jesus Christ!"], to the glory of Father God. (Phil. 2:11 MIT)

Philippians 2:11 and every tongue acknowledge that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father. (Phil. 2:11 NIV)

Your theory this forced confession results in universal salvation doesn't follow.

There is a VAST difference between repenting of sin and crying out to the LORD Jesus begging Him to save you because He IS THE LORD God the Son who can grant it---and being compelled by Yahweh God the Father to confess Jesus Christ is Yahweh God the Son.

That is what's happening in Philippians, to the glory of God the Father all are made to confess Jesus is Yahweh. Notice "Lord" in Isaiah is translating "Yahweh", the KJV capitalizes it:

23 I have sworn by myself, the word is gone out of my mouth in righteousness, and shall not return, That unto me every knee shall bow, every tongue shall swear.

24 Surely, shall one say, in the LORD have I righteousness and strength: even to him shall men come; and all that are incensed against him shall be ashamed. (Isa. 45:23-24 KJV)

Paul interpreted the Isaiah text by the Holy Spirit to read as he wrote both in Romans and Philippians. It wasn't meant to be verbatim quote, its inspired interpretation by the Holy Spirit in the mouth of Paul, the Word of God.

So even Christ's enemies will bow before His feet, and made to confess Jesus is Yahweh God the Son, to the glory of God the Father. Their rebellion is over.

Actually, those who will not confess that Jesus Christ is Lord (as every tongue "should" confess that He is the Lord) will be cast into the lake of fire; because their rebellion is not over with; but rather they have made a decision that they will never believe in or obey the Lord God; for they are guilty of the unpardonable sin in that they have counted the Holy Ghost who seeks to lead them to Christ in surrender to be their adversary.

Not according to Jesus:

31 Wherefore I say unto you, All manner of sin and blasphemy shall be forgiven unto men: but the blasphemy against the Holy Ghost shall not be forgiven unto men.
32 And whosoever speaketh a word against the Son of man, it shall be forgiven him: but whosoever speaketh against the Holy Ghost, it shall not be forgiven him, neither in this world, neither in the world to come.
(Matt. 12:31-32 KJV)

In hell those who died without Christ are forgiven, and given a second chance to repent. After God refines the dross away through a process like refining fire in hell, the free will soul once again appears. After all the delusion, addiction to sin, are burned away, the Gospel is preached to the dead, and all who "live according to God" will rise unto the resurrection of life on judgment day:

28 Marvel not at this: for the hour is coming, in the which all that are in the graves shall hear his voice,
29 And shall come forth; they that have done good, unto the resurrection of life; and they that have done evil, unto the resurrection of damnation. (Jn. 5:28-29 KJV)

Though they think it strange Christians repent of the same excess they do, and they speak evil of us and our LORD Jesus, God who judges the living and the dead will make sure they hear the gospel preached in hell, and all in the grave who obediently hear Christ's voice and do good will rise to the resurrection of life:

4 Wherein they think it strange that ye run not with them to the same excess of riot, speaking evil of you:
5 Who shall give account to him that is ready to judge the quick and the dead.
6 For for this cause was the gospel preached also to them that are dead, that they might be judged according to men in the flesh, but live according to God in the spirit. (1 Pet. 4:4-6 KJV)

No; for the punishment that is meted out to the one who does not have compassion on "the least of these my brethren" in hell, is everlasting (Matthew 25:46).

No; for the punishment that is meted out to the one who does not have compassion on "the least of these my brethren" in hell, is everlasting (Matthew 25:46).
You took that out of context. That applies to those who heard the gospel, but during the reign of the Beast did nothing to help Christians. They survived Armageddon and were now being judged for failing to aid persecuted believers:

The judgment of the Sheep and the Goats happens at Christ’s return, not after the 1000-year millennial Kingdom. Also, unlike Judgment Day when the dead are raised from the Sea, Death, and Hades (Rev. 20:11-15) , no resurrection occurs in Matthew 25: 31-46.

Furthermore, the Sheep cannot be Christians because this Judgment occurs while they are seated with Christ and His angels, as Kings and Priests. “These my Brethren (Mt. 25:40; Rom. 8:29) were “gathered” (2 Thess. 2:1) from the earth during Christ’s coming in glory. They reign with Christ as Kings and Priests (Rev. 1:6; 20:4-6; 1 Thess. 4:14-18; 1 Cor. 15:51-58; Mat. 24:29-31; Rev. 14:14-16). Because they believed in Christ when physically alive, they do not “come into judgment, but has passed from death into life.” (John 5:24). As Christ’s “Brethren” they have authority to judge the unsaved with Christ (Mt. 19:28; 1 Cor. 6:3; Rev. 20:4), the “firstborn among many brethren” (Rom. 8:29).

Both the Sheep and the Goats know Christ, they call Him LORD. They know Christ’s disciples but had not joined them in the Faith. King Jesus decrees if they received His disciples (Mt. 12:40) they have received Him. Those who helped His brethren during the Great Tribulation would receive their reward (Mt. 10:42; Mk. 9:41), entry into the Kingdom of God.

31 “When the Son of Man comes in His glory, and all the holy angels with Him, then He will sit on the throne of His glory.
32 “All the nations will be gathered before Him, and He will separate them one from another, as a shepherd divides his sheep from the goats.
33 “And He will set the sheep on His right hand, but the goats on the left.
34 “Then the King will say to those on His right hand, `Come, you blessed of My Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world:
35 `for I was hungry and you gave Me food; I was thirsty and you gave Me drink; I was a stranger and you took Me in;
36 `I was naked and you clothed Me; I was sick and you visited Me; I was in prison and you came to Me.’
37 “Then the righteous will answer Him, saying, `Lord, when did we see You hungry and feed You, or thirsty and give You drink?
38 `When did we see You a stranger and take You in, or naked and clothe You?
39 `Or when did we see You sick, or in prison, and come to You?’
40 “And the King will answer and say to them, `Assuredly, I say to you, inasmuch as you did it to one of the least of these My brethren, you did it to Me.’
41 “Then He will also say to those on the left hand, `Depart from Me, you cursed, into the everlasting fire prepared for the devil and his angels:
42 `for I was hungry and you gave Me no food; I was thirsty and you gave Me no drink;
43 `I was a stranger and you did not take Me in, naked and you did not clothe Me, sick and in prison and you did not visit Me.’
44 “Then they also will answer Him, saying, `Lord, when did we see You hungry or thirsty or a stranger or naked or sick or in prison, and did not minister to You?’
45 “Then He will answer them, saying, `Assuredly, I say to you, inasmuch as you did not do it to one of the least of these, you did not do it to Me.’
46 “And these will go away into everlasting punishment, but the righteous into eternal life.” (Matt. 25:31-46 NKJ)
The unsaved in Christendom is the theme of this context. The ten virgins know Christ “the bridegroom” but only five reacted in a positive manner. They do not become Christians until the wedding banquet when the door is shut. The unwise Goats are left in the outer darkness, Christ does not know them (Mt. 25:1-13). Same with the Servants of the man on a journey, only those who respond correctly are rewarded upon his return. The wicked Goat servant who clearly didn’t know the Master is cast into the outer darkness (Mt. 25:14-30). The theme is carried over to the time of Christ’s arrival, in Christendom many did not commit to Christ. These Sheep and Goats are now judged. Those who vicariously received Christ by receiving His brethren are deemed to have received Christ (Mt. 25:40), those who did not He does not know so casts them away. As Peter said, Judgment begins first with the house of God (1 Pt. 4;17). Therefore, “all the nations (1484 ἔθνος ethnos)” gathered before Christ and His angels (Mt. 25:32) are not “all humanity” of the earth, they are “all the people” [who heard the gospel of Christ] preached (Mt. 24:14; 28:19) and so were held liable for how they responded to it.

1484 ἔθνος ethnos {eth’-nos}
Meaning: 1) a multitude (whether of men or of beasts) associated or living together 1a) a company, troop, swarm 2) a multitude of individuals of the same nature or genus 2a) the human race 3) a race, nation, people group 4) in the OT, foreign nations not worshipping the true God, pagans, Gentiles 5) Paul uses the term for Gentile Christians-Strong’s Concordance

Universalism is a false doctrine and heresy; and that is all I'm going to say about it.

For it should be clear that those who work iniquity (the wicked) shall be cast into the furnace of fire (Matthew 13:41-42, Matthew 13:49-50).

The lake of fire is not a place of refining; going there does not result in life. It is apportioned to those whose names are not written in the Book of Life; and is identified as the second death.

I agree, Universalism is heresy. But so is not heeding the Words of our LORD Jesus Christ who, unlike you, said forgiveness exists in the age to come:

41 The men of Nineveh shall rise in judgment with this generation, and shall condemn it: because they repented at the preaching of Jonas; and, behold, a greater than Jonas is here.
42 The queen of the south shall rise up in the judgment with this generation, and shall condemn it: for she came from the uttermost parts of the earth to hear the wisdom of Solomon; and, behold, a greater than Solomon is here.
(Matt. 12:41-42 KJV)

Neither the men of Nineveh or the Queen of the south were believers in Christ, or Jews for that matter. Yet they rise up and judge the generation of Jews who rejected Christ. How did that happen when one can be saved ONLY by believing in Jesus:

12 Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved. (Acts 4:12 KJV)

Clearly, these were given a chance to be saved in the afterlife. AND if God who shows no partiality did it for them, He would do it for everyone else:

For this reason the gospel was preached also to those who are dead, that they might be judged according to men in the flesh, but live according to God in the spirit. (1 Pet. 4:6 NKJ)

No, actually they looked forward to the coming of Messiah who was prophesied as early as Genesis 3:15 (the proto-evangelion of holy scripture).

And the offer to believe in Christ after passing into the next life is only given to those who never had any opportunity in this one.

Christ said the "men of Nineveh" would rise up and judge the Jews of Christ's generation who rejected Him.

ONLY Christians become Kings and Priests. Only Christians are Christ’s “Brethren” (Rom. 8:29) having authority to judge the unsaved with Christ (Mt. 19:28; 1 Cor. 6:3; Rev. 20:4).

That means the "men of Nineveh" were Christians at the time of this judging unbelieving Jews. HOW could that happen when they died before Christ was born?

Clearly, Christ appeared once in the end time so His one sacrifice would apply to everyone in every age since the foundation of the world, unlike the High Priest who sacrificed yearly to keep the sacrifice in force for his generation only:

24 For Christ has not entered the holy places made with hands, which are copies of the true, but into heaven itself, now to appear in the presence of God for us.
25 not that He should offer Himself often, as the high priest enters the Most Holy Place every year with blood of another–
26 He then would have had to suffer often since the foundation of the world; but now, once at the end of the ages, He has appeared to put away sin by the sacrifice of Himself.
27 And as it is appointed for men to die once, but after this the judgment,
28 so Christ was offered once to bear the sins of many. To those who eagerly wait for Him He will appear a second time, apart from sin, for salvation. (Heb. 9:24-28 NKJ)
Therefore, those who believe the gospel of Christ preached to them in this life do not come into judgment, in contrast to those who die unbelieving—they are appointed to “die once but after this the judgment” (2920 κρίσις krisis)”, which is a trial or “separation” of believers and unbelievers. Those who obediently “hear” become believers and “eagerly wait” for the Second Coming of Christ who will appear a second time apart from sin for salvation granting them the “resurrection of life” (Rev. 20:11-15; Jn. 5:28-29; 1 Pet. 4:6) which is promised to all who believe in His Name.

That means the "men of Nineveh" were Christians at the time of this judging unbelieving Jews. HOW could that happen when they died before Christ was born?
They looked forward to the coming of the Messiah because of passages like Genesis 3:15 in the scriptures that were available to them.

You are evading the point, whether they looked foward backward sideways is irrelevant, immaterial and utterly incompetent to address Christ's point they rise up and judge unbelieving Jews, yet they had died centuries before Christ was born.

THAT means they became Christians in the afterlife. And if God did that for them, He will do it for everyone who believes in Christ, whether in this life or while still physically in the grave:

28 "Do not marvel at this; for the hour is coming in which all who are in the graves will hear His voice
29 "and come forth-- those who have done good, to the resurrection of life, and those who have done evil, to the resurrection of condemnation. (Jn. 5:28-29 NKJ)

No, they became Christians by believing in the Messiah before He came to earth; based on the promises and prophecies about His coming.

They looked forward to the coming of the Messiah and believed the prophecies concerning Him and what He would do for the people...such as in Isaiah 53.
That does not explain how they became Christians, Kings and Priests judging unbelievers in God's Kingdom, when they died before Christ was born.

And they wouldn't know who the Messiah was to look forward to, they were Ninevites.

You need to rethink the inconsistencies in your position. They don't make sense.
