Could you do this?

You couldn't pay me enough to do what this guy does for a living.

Watch this to the end.

I hope he has a parachute on his back! OMG I love heights but I hate edges. That's crazy, even if I think it's awesome! I bet this guy gets incredible pay. And I hope he has good life insurance! What's he doing up there? Changing a light bulb?

I can't stand how he places that graple hook on the end of the rungs. How safe is that?

I agree, no way!

That's what I thought too. I assume he's dressed just as his helper is and I didn't see anything on his back.

Nerves of steel.

it was concerning the way he would go back down a step at times, I almost thought he was starting to fall. These guys have one heck of an ability to block out fear. Outstanding!

No, it's part of his therapy. He suffers from acrophobia, and this is part of the treatment.

I've painted a few towers when I worked for Florida Power. (now, Duke Electric) You really don't pay much attention, once you learn to relax.

I was wondering why they didn't take a helicopter to the top of the tower in the first video.

Regardless, not that I would want those jobs, it would be fun to do all those at least once.

I think I could do it. I've been up pretty high before on ladders and rooftops. You get used to it. I went rappelling before with a friend and had a lot of fun. You know, where the guys go jumping down the side of the building with ropes? It's actually very easy, just hold low on the rope and it brakes you. The hardest part about the whole thing was...committing my weight to the rope at the top. It's that first step that's the hardest.

I've always wondered of rappelling was difficult to do, it seems you need a lot of upper body strength. It'd be fun, too.

Not really. If you can hold a rope in one hand and put the other hand down by your side or behind your back, you can rappel.

Smart man. BEHIND YOUR BACK...... always!

And Gary is more than right. It really requires very little strength of any kind.
