I'm studying about Oliver Cromwell, right now, and also, Puritanism. I have just begun, so, I don't know much about it yet, and I would like to know, was Cromwell a Calvinist, or an Armenianist?
Did he believe, as Calvinists do today, that we had no choice in accepting Jesus Christ, we were completely controlled by God during that crucial time of acceptance of Jesus, or did he believe in free will, and responsibility for, and more importantly, ability to, accept or reject the free grace and free salvation gift offered by Jesus Christ?

Was there a big controversy between and within the Puritan communities, between free will and no free will?
Can you also define for me the antinomian controversy, and is this the same as the free grace controversy, which is free will vs. no ability to choose, no free will?
So, what was Cromwell?
What, for the most part, did the Puritans believe, and did that belief help exacerbate the Salem witch trials?
