Crushing the Spirit of grace under foot?

If a believer rejects the blood of Messiah, they become the subject of Hebrews 6:4-8:

For it is impossible for those who were once enlightened, and have tasted of the heavenly gift, and were made partakers of the Holy Spirit,
And have tasted the good word of God, and the powers of the world to come,
If they shall fall away, to renew them again unto repentance; seeing they crucify to themselves the Son of God afresh, and put him to an open shame.
For the earth which drinketh in the rain that cometh oft upon it, and bringeth forth herbs meet for them by whom it is dressed, receiveth blessing from God:
But that which beareth thorns and briers is rejected, and is nigh unto cursing; whose end is to be burned.
I agree with you. They are called reversionistic believers or believers living in carnality. It is impossible to come out of reversionism while still actively participating in reversionism. The believer who is living this way, MUST come out of the carnal living they are participating in, in order to be restored to repentance. The repentance in these verses is not salvation repentance......they are already saved and believers.

Paul gives us this teaching in 2 Tim 2. Some believers had gone astray, and Paul instructed Timothy on what to do with these reversionists.

24 The Lord’s bond-servant must not be quarrelsome, but be kind to all, able to teach, patient when wronged, 25 with gentleness correcting those who are in opposition, if perhaps God may grant them repentance leading to the knowledge of the truth, 26 and they may come to their senses and escape from the snare of the devil, having been held captive by him to do his will.

If they shall fall away, to renew them again unto repentance; seeing(the while/while) they crucify to themselves the Son of God afresh, and put him to an open shame.

While they are living in this carnality or reversionism, it is impossible to renew them to repentance(of their reversionism.) They need to come out of this reversionism to restore them.

I think Hebrews 4:8 makes the "repentance" of verse 6 salvational. This is not a carnality issue. It is an unbelief issue; the rejection of Yeshua, not a life of carnality.
