[_ Old Earth _] Cup of Java anyone?

Are you talking about the lies and deception behind evolution or one particular case it seems the entire thing has been a sham since the Scopes trial... Is this considered a checkable source?

The 1925 Scopes Trial in Dayton, Tennessee, has been deemed the most important trial in American history, but the trial itself was not the only aspect of "The Scopes Extravaganza," for it had a nearly unbelievable background and auxiliary scenario. John Scopes, on trial for teaching evolution (contrary to Tennessee law), didn't actually do so until after the charges had been filed. Then he did so in the back seat of a car, just to be sure he had committed the proper crime.

The newly formed ACLU, supposedly defending Scopes, had in reality recruited him and set the whole thing up. At trial's end, they asked the jury to convict him, desiring to appeal to a higher court. John Scopes was only a means they used to strike at Christianity and creation. Their goal was to eradicate the influence of Christianity in the public arena.

Newspaper and radio commentaries delivered the news to an anxious public nationwide. But the reports bore little resemblance to the truth, as recorded in trial transcripts. Christianity was on trial in the press, and the fix was in. Even after the trial it continued, most notably in the fictitious "Inherit the Wind" play-turned-movie. Unfortunately the movie is all most people know of the whole affair.

You were going to provide checkable sources for the stories, remember?

No! You asked for them but as you know the data is already there....I have said nothing not already known or accepted though I do not interpret these pieces of evidence to come to the same conclusion.

Your oil delivery man has a simian shelf, instead of a chin? And has that kind of brow ridge, behind a receding forehead? If so, he's unique in the history of H. sapiens.

I said he looks like the forensic example your EBs have provided (very close indeed).

That jaw, for example. No modern human has it. It's another major difference beween H. erectus and H. sapiens.

So now as is convenient they are Erectus?

Add that evidence to the human indicators at Peking and the stone tool usage, and monolithic structure found in Olduvia, along with the human Java femur and two equal to modern human skulls also found there...
You were going to provide some checkable sources for those claims. Is there a problem? Could we see that in the next post?

Again YOU asked for them but most have already been given....go back and do your homework! It is MY interpretation which says these human indicators could be seen as separate from the ape like remains. I am that source...because I am not going by anybody's theory but simply looking at what evidence there is and not making assumptions (like no varieties of Sapiens existed at the time of Java or Peking).

I've addressed some of your misunderstandings about Scopes in the Scopes Trial thread. Read it and see.

But you can't show it to us? Odd. Or maybe not so odd.

Barbarian chuckles:

Except for those things that distinguish erectus from sapiens. Which is about right. They kinda looked like us, but not exactly. Very similar below the neck, but with critical differences in the skull.

That jaw, for example. No modern human has it. It's another major difference beween H. erectus and H. sapiens.

Always been like that. Only modern humans have a chin and lack the simian shelf.

Add that evidence to the human indicators at Peking and the stone tool usage, and monolithic structure found in Olduvia, along with the human Java femur and two equal to modern human skulls also found there...

It's your claim. If you want to put it on the table, it's up to you to support it. If not...

Your call.
