Did God create hell?

Don't forget, in an existence that does contain eternal punishment, everyone who had half a heart who was aware of this eternal punishment would be frantically running around trying to save as many souls as they possibly could, because of the simple fact that this life is infinitely short when compared with eternity. Engaging in leisurely activities while on this earth would be uncharacteristicly selfish considering what looms eternally after this brief worldly existence.

Period.

IOW's if you are incorrect in your understanding on this subject God is not whom he claim Himself to be in scripture. It's God not you who is unloving.

Jesus Christ is the Savior. Jesus knows your every thought. He knows if you truly believe in an eternal Hell that awaits certain souls, and you aren't behaving like the hypothetical "Constant Preacher" that I mentioned above, He knows you are selfish. It's simple logic.

I don't believe that you believe in an eternal Hell. My belief is that I know you don't believe, because you aren't the "Constant Preacher", and because I know that if the stakes were that high, you would be that benevolent individual. I believe that Jesus knows this as well, because He knows everything.

Well, as much as I appreciate you assuming that much about me, you be wrong. You don't think Jesus wants his prophets to warn people about hell?? Think again, if only you knew what Jesus was actually saving you from, you might think differently. Jesus Christ is the savior of what/who/why? How do I obtain salvation through Jesus Christ? No that's not logic, that's absurd. It's not by our works that we are saved, but only by his grace we shall be saved. A preacher that preaches for 20 years isn't doing it to gain reputation and worldly respect, no. He does it to teach people the gospel, he receives his rewards in heaven. Rather he is mounting up treasures for himself in heaven and not the world.

And just remember the "elephant in the room". The ones who claim that they believe in eternal punishment don't act like it.

None of them. Not a single one of them.

Period.

The ones who don't believe in eternal punishment do act like it.

My advice to the "Yes, eternal punishment" claimers is:

It's over. Please spare yourself any further embarrassment, and come rejoice with us.

Amen.

How is a person to act who believes God is a just judge?

How is a person to act who believes it's God who draws men unto Himself?

How is a person to act who believes God is a just judge?

How is a person to act who believes it's God who draws men unto Himself?
That person is to act like the "Constant Preacher" I mentioned above.

Period.

Yes, I've been in Christ for seven years now. Let's assume i'm not saved though, how would you approach me. What would you say to me, as a sinner?
Ahh we are going to play...ok this has nothing to do with the topic but ok lets play...so are you asking me how to be saved?

Actually, I'm not looking to argue but hoping for a good discussion. Arguments are a waste of time for those posting as well as for those reading. A good discussion, however, can be edifying for both those posting as well as those reading. I've got better things to do with my time than argue. You'll also get no argument from me that there is biblical support for both eternal punishment and for annihilationism, and a much weaker one for Universalism (which is prohibited in this section in case anyone wants to turn the discussion in that direction). It IS a grey area if you care to call it that. I enjoy this topic and have studied all 3 views for many years and enjoy discussing them all. I personally believe though that there is more support, both scripturally and linguistically, for eternal punishment. It's also obvious from your post above that you are merely glancing through what is presented to you and typing out a response. I can't speak for anyone else on this thread but I agree that the unrighteous are NOT given eternal life. Go back and read post #215. They are however punished eternally. If you don't care to discuss what you believe and why you believe as you do, no big deal.
Well good we can agree that the unrighteous are NOT given eternal life...so what else is there to discuss?

Allow me to illustrate this a little more clearly for you.

If you and I know there is eternal punishment:

I would be the "Constant Preacher" mentioned above.

I am going to give you the benefit of the doubt and say that you would also be the "Constant Preacher". You would be relentless in your conviction. After all, this life is infinitely short when compared with eternity, and you come across as a normal, benevolent individual(Compliment Alert!!!).

If you and I know there isn't eternal punishment:

We both would behave as we are behaving now.

Period.

Ok then I am a constant preacher that also has a life outside of this forum. Jesus isn't Hitler man. For example, if i take a break from forum for two months, does that mean i lose my salvation? :confused

I wouldn't approach you. Now what?:lol

Good way to dodge the question and accomplish nothing.

That has absolutely NOTHING to do with a biblical discussion on the topic of hell. :backtotopic

Third time asking you now. Let's assume i'm not saved, how would you approach me. What would you say to me, as a sinner?
First you tell me how this has anything to do with the topic?:-)

I'm pretty sure any shot at a biblical discussion is over with. I fear this is about to get worse with more personal attacks so I am out of here. Thanks for your input I learned from your post.

Don't declare that you are currently the "Constant Preacher" that I mentioned, because you are not.

I have yet to see any "Constant Preachers" like the one I initially hypothesized.

If you were the "Constant Preacher", you wouldn't lose your salvation, and you would be saving more souls than you are with your current routine.

That has absolutely NOTHING to do with a biblical discussion on the topic of hell. :backtotopic

The topic is "Did God Create Hell?"

Your "absolutely NOTHING" is absurd, and I'm glad you posted it for all to see.

we're done here.
