Did God make women special?

It seems to be so. Preferential treatment goes to women over their male counterpart. Women lack nearly nothing. Just say what you need and your dad or parents or guys respond immediIt seems to be so. Preferential treatment goes to women over their male counterpart. Women lack

"So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them" (Genesis 1:27).

"Male and female created he them; and blessed them, and called their name Adam, in the day when they were created" (Genesis 5:2).

It is interesting to note that God called both male and female, "Adam" in the day they were created. Adam means "man." Adam and Eve were created with God-ordained differences from each other, but together they made a full "man," or a complete picture of God Himself. There was perfection in their union. Their differences were not a source of discord or inequality, but a beautiful compliment to each other. Together, God gave them the task of overseeing His creation.

"And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth" (Genesis 1:28).

I do not agree.Adam was first created.Eve came from his rib. There is pro's and con's to each sex.God loves both males and females and has given us each a roll He wants us to have in this journney we are taking on this Earth.Do you have some angry feelings towards the female gender for some reason?

LOL. I'm I male or female? Whatever. Hehe!

Really there is usually a preferential treatment for women.
Ladies first
Weaker sex? Dunno

I think it is the world that labels the women as the weaker sex.We have our own rolls in this world which God has given us.I see way too many women putting down their husband in a haughty way.I think that is wrong.

Nope, that's not preferential, it's an ugly outdated thing called "chivalery", assuming that women should be treated special because they are pretty, soft, cute and weak. Someone that is an equal and can fend for themselves doesn't need special treatment, right? Of course lovers or good friends will treat each other special according to the degree of affection between them, there's nothing wring with that - but that's not a gender thing.
Women aren't more special than men, neither do they deserve any better treatment.
Chivalery is dead. Put the lid on its coffin, burry it and let it rot.

How about ladies first? has it ever been buried before?
I do not see anything wrong with a man saying "ladies first".That might be something a mother had taught you. That is respecting a lady.I am not a woman libber.I have never burned my bra :biggrin2

Yes, God did make women "special," but that is not to say that He does not make men "special" too. Both are created in His image. That's more than special.

Classic, I think you're trying to ask why my mother taught me to treat a woman differently than I would a man. God didn't didn't tell her to teach me that but her basis was founded on the fact that she (and women in general) sacrificed during pregnancy for my benefit. Her belief then includes her son remembering this and giving ladies (and she made a distinction between ladies and women in general also) preferential treatment, hence, I was taught "ladies first," and a whole slew of other ways to show respect.

The way I was taught was that It's a respect to motherhood thing and not intended to be a slight or offered because they are the "weaker" sex at all. The fact that I would expect to pay for the first date, if I were the one to request it, does not stem from me being the breadwinner. It's just the way I was taught. Gentlemanly behavior (opening a door for another person) includes polite acceptance when the door is opened for you as well. Being my age and a college student means that I get doors held open for me more than the other way around. It's just not about gender as much as it is about not wanting to slam doors in people's faces.

My sons offer me a hand up after I sit on the floor. They are showing respect to their elders -- it doesn't mean they think that I could not get up by myself.

careful what you ask for you have gotten that already from mighty fine modern feminism which isn't about equality but women doing what men do in the name of equality. im for a man doing things that his mother or wife cant do. come to my house. I have got telephone poles to lay in the ground. enjoy moving that and laying them.

We are both special and loved very much in God's eyes.Although I do think God really knew what he was doing when he gave the task of giving birth the the female gender.I think we would not have a population if he gave that task to the men :lol

Hilarious, absolutely.

Claudia professes absolute equality.

Now this needs clarification, doesn't it? LOL

I was always taught that "ladies first" and such was a respect thing. I can kinda see where treating someone differently because they happen to be female can be seen as more insulting than not, though. Though I'm not really opinionated toward either extreme. If you open the door for me, I'll say thank you. And then I'll open the door for you, too, whether you're female or not. It's simply a nice gesture.

Doors are cheap, would you pay for popcorn at the movie?

--- Just kidding! There are many ideas that have been wrong throughout the ages, but some? Like being nice, aren't.

God mad men and women and he loves them both equally. The family is the most important force that God created on this earth. God made women to be protectors of the family inside the home and men to be protectors of the family outside the home. You have to know a little about the ancient language of the Bible to totally get this concept. When God created Adam He created both man and woman together. (Genesis 1:27) When He separated the woman from the side of man that is when He created marriage. A Godly marriage is the complete image of God once again. That is why the devil is attacking the marriage so much. A Godly marriage can't be penetrated by evil and is one of the most powerful forces on earth. Are woman more special than men? I don't think so, but we do have a different role than men.
