Do Jews celebrate Easter?

They may still celebrate Passover, which was generally around the same time of the year, but orthodox jews would have no reason to celebrate Easter (or Resurrection Sunday), as they do not believe in Jesus as the Messiah.

Do Jews celebrate Easter?
They do not celebrate Easter, but they used to celebrate a shadow that pointed forward to Messiah's resurrection, the wave sheaf offering of Leviticus 23:10-11;

10 Speak unto the children of Israel, and say unto them, When ye be come into the land which I give unto you, and shall reap the harvest thereof, then ye shall bring a sheaf of the firstfruits of your harvest unto the priest:
11 And he shall wave the sheaf before the LORD (YHWH), to be accepted for you: on the morrow after the sabbath the priest shall wave it.
Yeshua resurrected on this very day. The act of reaping and waving the bundle of barley up and down pointed to his resurrection and ascension as the first fruit of the harvest of souls.

Christians do not honor this day (Aviv 16) as resurrection day, but have, instead, designated a fixed day (Easter) each year that usually does not fall on this day.

Classik, I have performed a web search and I have found the following website:

http://www.jewfaq.org/holidayg.htm

The information contained within the webpage may answer your question relating to Jews celebrating Easter.
Thank you for the link. A lot to celebrate, if you are a Jew.
Easter is not passover, but is in a way: death through Adam and life through Christ.

My pleasure Classik; there's some informative information on that webpage.
Hi MS
Actually, you've asked a very important question.

What you should do once you get your bible is to read Exodus 11 and 12. The time of Moses.
Then read Isaiah 52:13... and all of 53. It was written about 700 years prior to the birth of Jesus.
Then read each of the 4 gospels, Mathew, Mark, Luke and John - at the end of the letters - regarding the trial and crucifixion of Jesus.

Then match how all of the above are the same.
(we call this foreshadowing and prophecy)

Wondering

Thank you for sharing those passages wondering, I shall ensure I will read them once I have a Bible.

Once you have read them, we can discuss.
They show why Jesus is the Messiah awaited for by the Jewish people (and the whole world).

Lunchtime!

I will contact you via an existing thread, a new thread or PM to discuss this once I have had time to read them.
I may make use of a Bible mobile device application to ascertain a flavour before I have a physical Bible.

A good, modern idea!
Just don't get The Message Bible!
But check it out. It's interesting.

Wondering

But, would they eventually?
Not unless they become followers of christ.Judaism isn't a gene pool.it's a faith.contrary to what the messianic jews says.you are still a follower of Christ
Thus Seperation from Judaism as defined exists

Thank you wondering.
As you advised, I will not purchase The Message Bible; is there a particular reason why?
It's written for the MODERN generation that cannot speak proper English.
It's in slang. You'll get a kick out of it if you read it.
Many of these bibles were torn up and the pages scattered over the audience at a U2 concert I attended back in September. They're not a Christian band, but they are a band of Christians. You must know them.
The absolutely BEST BEST BEST concert I've ever attended.

I think you could probably see it online...
The bible I mean.

Wondering
