That's looks like copper suplhate.

florida runs pvc in the groung not copper. copper goes into my homes it normal in color but it has green where they sweated it. but not in all places. I know what the joints are. pvc lasts longer then copper. and its cheaper.

Right, and the copper pipes hanging in the crawlspace exposed to air oxidize along the length of the pipe to be black, not blue.

Maybe pennies turn green from the acid in people skin, which is always in flux also.

It takes a looong time for copper pipes to oxidizde, but when they do, they turn black. No kidding.

Looks like we're both right brother. Either at first it turns black, and over time it turns green, or perhaps it has to do with the specific copper alloy. Copper pipes have a lot of red brass in them to harden it. A little research showed me that the statute of Liberty is green because it is copper. I know one thing for sure, I've never seen old copper pipes looking like the statue of liberty. They're always black and need a lot of clean up before soldering again.

Two or three cups of regular coffee in the morning with French Vanilla creamer. Caffeine doesn't bother me. I could drink a whole pot and still sleep, except for the bathroom trips, LOL.

I bet pure copper patinas green and plumbing pipes have too much brass in them to do that.

Anyway, back to coffee, They have Almond Joy creamer now. Pure genius to do that, whomever did. I think it's great and use it a lot.
