Do You Have The Right ?

I'm just frightened over ever-increasing government and "expert" power over our lives. You have freedom...unless your doc says otherwise. Apparently, they should be allowed the final say in someone's life. Kinda scary.
that is my concern but there has to be balance. we cant allow cults to damage kids.

funny that was the case and it was never challenged, the jws until two years ago banned that practice. it make no difference to me. as I am banned for life from giving blood and my wife. the price paid for sleeping with a man.

it would be murder not suicide. the child has made the choice not to in this case, funny how this works. if that same ten year old had a baby and wanted it aborted the state if they don't have that law that allows parental consent would allow her to go against their beliefs, or what about if he or she wants to live pure and well that would break a rule here if you know what im mentioned we can talk about that in the Christian talk and advice. personally I disagree with the parents but w.e have to be careful here. America is becoming a nanny state.

So you are for a nanny state sometimes and against others. You are perplexing.

America has a problem with not telling people certain things are bad and being honest about that. we whine about overweight and ingnore the problems of broken families and the fact that it has an impact. so we want to have tanf pay for the bad decisions of men and women who don't pay their dues for rearing children. im talking about some single parents, or we also pay for treatment for things that are avoidable and yet don't do anything but a talk to get them to stop.

I do believe that insurance companies should cater to healthy people, the auto insurance encourages good driving, why not allow that logic with health care. if you are stupid then pay more. is it perfect? NO, and notice I didn't say goverement doing that at all.

is it? its about government telling parents what they do with their kids. I have heard of new York wanting to force parents to feed their kids their list of healthy foods.i don't have add. I have a kid in my youth class that has that. nothing like that. he cant sit for three seconds.

That is child ADHD Adult ADD us different.

...Back to the topic. To me this is just about the states rights trumping the parents rights. Anytime a court steps in and says the parents don't have the right it bothers me. If this were a clear case of abuse or neglect I'm fine with that, but that isn't the case here. The overall cure rate from chemo is only 40% and even if the holistic numbers aren't that good it has been proven to work. This isn't a case where they are doing absolutely nothing. It shouldn't be about which treatment is better, it's about who decides which treatment a 10 year old girl gets, the parents or the state. They should have the right to seek alternative treatment.

Like voodoo?

the article doesn't say what type of leukemia so I cant find the stats for that type there is type that chemo wont work on and the stage of it affects it.

From the article I posted it is quite clear the success rate for children and chemo is very high. The parents age giving their daughter a death sentence seems like.

I read that it depends on the type of chemo used and the type of health of the patient and also there is one type of leukemia there was a boy in California who had cancer leukemia and will die from it and wanted to batman and he was healthy enough to have that story. he was only 6.

from your link
About 40% to 50% of children with acute myelogenous leukemia (AML) are cured with standard chemotherapy. The rate is higher, at least 70%, for children who receive a hematopoietic cell, or stem cell, transplant from a brother or sister.
so I think we need to find out if she has aml and if stem cell is done or transplant from a brother or sister is available and if she has any and any donors are able to donate bone marrow. if not then and she has aml and its that low then what is the point?

So what is the point of getting treatment if the worst case is roughly 50% chance? Sounds very negative. Why not just abort if there is a 50% chance the kid will have cancer?

gee if I had that option. of being healthy then death, or taking a risk and its only 40% chance that It will work. I would loose my hair, I cant work, I cant do my hobby, and I wont be able to see the earth one last time possible and do what I like to do. I think I would refuse treatment and say good bye to my loved ones and die in pain from last moments.

Its not like my friend at the age 79 didn't see this coming. she also had a ton issues that I didn't mention, a stroke in the middle of it and also it took a while to recover from chemo. I think I would like my wife and kids to remember me as healthy then just passing rather then bald, puking and skinny as a rail and bedridden then dying.
