John 1:1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
Look then to Scripture, how multitudes thinking they are okay with Jesus, that they are saved, do not find out until after they die that Jesus does not even know them and throws them out.
They likely had many 'friends' patting them on the back while they were alive on earth, all congratulating one another and encouraging each other to continue (without any repentance!) just as if they are saved forever, when they are not.
If my opinion were contrary to the truth, I would still be serving sin. (John 8:32-34, 1 John 3:9)
Nobody but me turned from my sin and got baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of my past sins.
Without repentance from sin, and baptism in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, there is no salvation.

Sure a person will obey after they are born again
Men can do all that is necessary to be quickened by the Holy Spirit.
If they DON'T want to be reborn, they won't be.
If they do want to be reborn, Jesus provided the way, via His death, burial, and resurrection.

Man can't be God, but he can be obedient to Him and obey His commands.
We can turn from sin, and as no Holy Spirit will remain in a polluted temple, keeping sanctified is something we must do to be saved.
Enduring faithfully until the end is another thing we must do.
Your emphasis on what we can't do, detours you from what we MUST do, in order to be found faultless on the last day.
Only sinful pride blinds people thinking they can do something to be saved.
They need to be on the same level with God.
With these people God is not sovereign, they themselves are.
A right understanding of Theology Proper, Soteriology and Hamartiolgy would put these people in their proper place.

To be born again is in the passive voice and its not a command. Did you have anything to do with your first natural birth or was you passive ? or Did you obey a command ?
