Does Money Really Buy Happiness?

Wise people’s houses are full of the best foods and olive oil, but fools waste everything they have. Proverbs 21:20 NCV

Those who are wise, save some of their income.
AND it is a SPECIFIC amount, already figured into the "Zero Budget", and it is an amount that is strictly saved every week..... without fail!

There aren't a whole lot of areas I can plainly say I know about, but this is one. If we keep talking, your feelings WILL get hurt. But, if you listen, you will also find yourself surprised and shocked at how you really can tell your money where it has to go....... instead of you ending up where the lack of it say you have to stay.

If you mean that if we keep talking about the fact that I am poor and it would be a foolish and unwise choice to marry Joe then no, it wouldn't hurt my feelings. It isn't going to stop it from happening, but it wouldn't hurt my feelings.

I hope you can see this and understand it.
The age I am showing here is just for you.

No sorry, I don't. What is that saying? I know that it has something to do with saving your money,.. and maybe the debt you owe when you stop saving, but I can't be sure a hundred percent.

Hey, you can drop the attitude. I am talking real life here, not playing emotion games. I told you I was in prison, and when I got out, I had a toothbrush and my clothes.
Today, I can buy just about anything I want. You and Joe can too.

Anyway, getting off the dole is one of the first goals. You will ALWAYS be poor if you stay on it.

For the able bodied, saving enough to retire on takes a lot of bread. You can only safely withdraw 4% of your retirement funds each year. Someone who only has $50,000 in their IRA can only withdraw $2000 per year, or $166.67 per month.

Alright, but I didn't mean for it to come off as an attitude.
Good, because this is a subject that can't afford any of that. There are several others on here who will gladly give you strokes. I don't do that too well.

$50,000 is the low, base starter amount.... NOT the goal to try and live on.

Speaking of that, I really don't know if he will be able to get back on SSI when he gets out. Hopefully he can find some place that will hire him if he can't.
If he can survive in prison, he never again needs to even think about being on the dole.

Keep studying it till you see that it is how two brothers handled each of their money ( what they could save) till they were old.

Ben was smart at 19, and Arthur was lazy in his youth,

Ben saved $2,000 a year from the time he was 19,,,,,,,,, He did this for 8 years, and never put another penny in the pot.
Arthur didn't start saving for 8 years....... and then he put in $2,000 a year for the rest of his life.

Ben whipped Arthur because he let his money work for him.

This was figured on 12%. Yes, You can STILL find 12% investments, but it takes more looking now.
