Don't be this Pastor

And tell your pastor not to be "that guy". :oops (Sorry if it is)

I wonder what would happen if someone did take a biker to church and he saw that.

I am speechless. Its things like these I never know what to think of. At first its just flat out funny, but then it turns to sickening, then sadness, then winds up with a look at my own heart to make sure I am not judging his heart.

This all comes back around full circle because who knows what his heart is, but it is sickening to watch something like that.

If someone did that while I was present I would make it a specific point to talk with them later. I would have to understand why they act like that.

He must have seen some 80's remix. are you sure this is the pastor it could have been one of those: "we won't invite him again" guest speakers.

I think its an improvement. Its easy for me to remember when the preachers copied Oral Roberts.:D

The chruch I was going to had [on special occasions] a group of dancers who danced to whatever music we were playing. It wasn't cheezy like the video. The leader of the dance group was well trained and quite flexible. It was a bit . . . .alluring, to be honest. I think that as a church tries to gain favor with the younger people [who may be into choreographed dance moves], the church tends to look a bit more awkward. As for the OP video, . . . if I had been in that church, I wouldn't have seen it as awkward, but down right embarrassing.

We have allowed little by little to let the world into the church. This would be funny if i thought the whole thing was joke..

I look at this guy I see him up there by himself, looks like a rented small room. He also looks really young. I would have to say that this is a very small church, new pastor and he doesn't have that much of a church yet. He needs to grow in his role and he needs to keep going. People rarly start out at the top when they start. Billy Graham held meeting at a small church in the summers when he was going to school often not getting more than 30 people. Not saying he danced like this guy but saying he grew from that and became a huge part of the church. This guy also needs time to grow.

Channeling Micheal Jackson in church? That's funny. Especially when he starts spining in circles! Was that an attempt at moon walking too? It really is funny if it hadn't been for the idea of the biker, mormon, atheist, etc seeing that. I'm not sure how well they would like it... Of course, maybe they are all Micheal Jackson fans?

But he doesn't look all that young to me. He looks to be in his 40s, not someone just out of college. And the room looks like it could easily be the front section of a medium sized sanctuary that was designed to be a church, not just some multi purpose rental building.

I'm wondering, most people don't video tape the service when they go to church. Maybe this was some special event and this guy was just a guest performer of some kind, so that's why the attendee was video taping it. If that's the case, I've seen a lot worse!

...he threw up devil horns as well...:nono2

Your right! I went back and looked again, and sure enough he does it twice. Once in the first part and again in the second part of the video. I guess it's not funny anymore. The devil's horns is also called the goathead. And this, from the Childcare Action Project: "The goathead is a black mockery of Jesus' role as the Lamb of God. It is the Satanist's bird at Jesus.â€

Someone standing at the front of a church commanding attention in the name of Christ should know better than to flash these kind of signs!

Weren't most OT sin offering either bulls or goats, . . . not lambs? And IF a lamb, . . . a female?

Regardless of how silly this pastor looks, . . . satanists don't own that sign. It's probably used more at Texas Longhorn games!

But back to the silly pastor. . . and . . . go.

Ohhh I neeeded a good laugh today! :toofunny:toofunny:toofunny

They need to get a better Audio Visual guy in there though. Maybe dim the lights a bit and add a disco ball!

:lol

When I first watched this ‘clip’ something didn’t sit right with me but not necessarily for the same reasons as most commenting.

Don’t get me wrong, and it just might be me but I was drawn to focus more on the show’s host than on the pastor in the clip. Something just didn’t jive. The entire video was just 1:33, hardly enough to come to a conclusion. Yet, I wondered, “What’s wrong with this picture?!â€

Being that it was only a clip (and one to make the host’s point) I did some research on YouTube. The pastor dancing is named Michael P. Vigilante III. I watched (I assumed was) the video that the clip was taken from. I also strolled some of the comments.

Grant it, it may not be what we are accustomed to, but some might even conclude that I may be unorthodox in my expression of worship (especially if they saw me going ‘all out’ while taking a shower!).

Nonetheless, getting back to the host (and I know neither host or pastor). It was assumed by him that those who would invite a Mormon or a biker to their church would be surprised by such expression. Perhaps that would be so if that was not the type of personality they (the invitee) had or the church they attended. I think if I’m ‘working on’ someone in hopes of bringing them to my home church, they would be aware of my personality and how we ‘do’ church (for lack of better words).

Now I’m not knocking either. I just think we need to be watchful how we conclude matters in hopes of getting people to see our views. Especially if it’s concerning other professing Christians who happen to be not like us.

Anyway for what it’s worth, here’s the link I watched (among others) if anyone cares to look deeper into it.
