We have all sinned and need the Lord's forgiveness.

funny none of the apostles claimed that at all. all of them died while in christ but werent perfect in that had no sin.

we are to strive for that level of santicification but we will never be so holy that we can also judge and condemn men to hell like the lord did and does.

well its not hard to actually list one sins openly and then see how off you are and then ponder that pride is a sin.

i will list one sin

lust.
if your head turns to the female figure and stays long then you have a problem.

my son nathan has been unknowingly used by the lord to show me how unholy i am at times.

i have given my faults to god and he will set me free.

that is what the new city is. the removal of sin from the whole earth. meaning that we wont sin anymore. we are completely set free from the very desire to sin.

We will leave this world and be transferred to the resurrection, I think. Most people call that death.

Jesus told us to repent of our sin. He told us we must be perfect as our Father in heaven is perfect. Your statement is therefore wrong.

It has to do with salvation in that when we don't sin, we don't suffer the consequences of that particular sin we were being tempted to commit.

I have run into no more powerful temptation than that of sexual lust. When I give in to lust, my life becomes frightening and indescribably lonely. It is good to resist the temptation of lust and leave that fright and loneliness behind.

I, too, wrestle with lust.

There is a difference between being saved (forgiven for past sins) and putting an end to our sinning so the Lord doesn’t have to keep saving us over and over again.

Yes, we all need to be saved from the consequences of past sins. But the chore before us is to stop sinning so the Lord doesn’t have to keep saving us. As Paul said:

[12] Therefore, my beloved, as you have always obeyed, so now, not only as in my presence but much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling;
[13] for God is at work in you, both to will and to work for his good pleasure. Phil 2:12-13 RSV
