I think we agree, also. It is God who opens the eyes of a person' heart to see and respond to the Gospel. As his redeemed, we yearn to be used by him as a tool of such great grace. We can till, plant, water, and weed, but there is only One person who can make seed germinate and grow. With this in mind, I encourage you to continue to kindly and patiently work the soil of your friends' lives and look to your Lord for him to save them.

Grace to you.

In childlike dependence on Christ we do good works. If our life is void of good works it indicates our faith is non-existent. (W uses the word "futile" which is a bit ambiguous, but from her other writing it is clear she is not saying the good works adds to her salvation.) We may say we love Christ, but if our lives show no pursuit of pleasing him in action, it indicates we are lying or deceived. God sees our hearts; he knows who truly loves him. We do not do good works to convince God of our love, but we do good works because of our love for him. Good works are good when they are a response to the grace we have been shown by God. "Good" works are bad works if they are motivated by a desire to earn God's salvation through Jesus.
Dear Hospes, I'am speaking of Spiritual things, that God gave us by "The Holy Spirit" that started on the day of Pentecost. Man does not join the Church (body of Christ) we are called, only God adds to his body "The Church." That is called our "Standing" with God. All born again believers have that same standing before God, From the weakest and most fallible believer to the most illustrious Saint. We are all equal at the foot of the cross of Christ. Saved, (from the wrath of God) that will come upon all rebellious men. The holy Spirit being our guarantee. The Church (body of Christ) is not an organization, but a living "organism," (1 Corinthians chapter 12) Please study it. The body of Christ is so closely knit together by His Spirit in us, that Christ feels the pain and hurt of His sanctified body. ( Acts 9: 1-5)

Hospes, I was joyed to see your peaceful and thoughtful intervention in trying to bring an understanding to my sharing of our Spiritual inheritance and it's work and purpose that is in us. (it is not I, but Christ in me) The Spiritual member of Christ is never satisfied with any deed that the Holy Spirit manifest itself in and through the born again believer, but goes on, ready for the next opportunity.

Here is the witness of my testimony: Our beliefs and faith do not stand in the wisdom of man, but in the power of God. The wisdom that has been given us is perfect, void of the wisdom of this age (world) of the principles we live under now. But the wisdom that we have been given is a mystery to man, and was hidden in God and ordained before the world (ages), to be revealed in us of His glory at the appointed time by the Father, that none of the rulers of this world knew, for if they had known it, they would not have crucified Christ. Scripture ( Isa. 64:4) Says that the eye has not seen, nor ear heard, neither entered into the hearts of man, the things which God has prepared for them that love Him.
But God has revealed them unto us, His body (Church) BY HIS SPIRIT. For His Spirit searches all things, even the deep and hidden things of God. Just as mans spirit reveals the things of and about us as man. So the Spirit given to us (Church) of Christ, reveals the things of God, so that we might know and understand the things, freely given to us by our Lord. So, it is in this Spirit that we speak and teach, not using the wisdom of man, so that we compare Spiritual things with The Spirit. But the natural man (in Adam) does not receive Spiritual things, nor does he understand them, for they are foolishness to men because they are Spiritually discerned. But he that is born again is Spiritual by the Holy Spirit, and by this, we judge all things by His Spirit in us, but we, ourselves, are judged by no man. For who has known the mind of the Lord that he may instruct Him, certainly not man, But we (His body) have the mind of Christ.
For we can not speak or be understood of Spiritual things to those who are not Spiritual, because they receive the Gospel as carnal. Thus schism in the visible church. A mixture of wheat and tares.
