"exposing" popular Christian teachers/preachers

Ok, fine. So no one here can plainly answer my question.

See why I don't hang around here much anymore?

I have listened to Hal Lindsay. He has some interesting facts with Scripture about what is going on in the ME.I don't find him offensive.

Thanks, Reba... from your second link: "The Law of Attraction can be defined as: I attract to my life whatever I give my attention, energy, and focus to, whether positive or negative."

As I watch a certain co-worker of mine, and as I think about my life this year (a year of transition, change and awakening), some things strike me:

1) This makes perfect sense.
2) This is no big secret.
3) I can see where someone could turn this into an occult belief system rather easily, but it need not be so.

yes. but remember, you chose to ignore a list because of 1 thing, and didn't test the 1 thing - the 1 thing when tested for truth and warned (in 1947-1949 by men of Yhvh) proved it should be on the list. (I don't know how much can be said, but I'll leave it at that).

If I didn't, but then you said - then I'd not like appreciably the most.

So if I picture a car outside, it's going to be there?

really? ... i mean in a good way - i think(hope) and pray you know enough to knot let him tickle your ears!
Hey........................... We all listen to a lot of _________ on this very forum, and still know how to chew the meat and spit out the bones. Same thing with listening to Osteen or MacArthur or Bell.

Before you poke too much fun at this principle Jesus taught and demonstrated, you might want to see what was said about it in the Bible.

I know that most people who have their minds made up will seldom look around a site like that, but checking out all their links to Bible quote can only educate us..... even if we do think a lot of people carry this concept to ridiculous lengths.

Jesus really DID teach it... in spades.

I think I would rather listen to osteen.

ok, follower, so I should not listen to a man whom is soft on the gospel and is and has been often misquoted? seriously but hal Lindsey the KNOWN false prophet is seldom challenged?

no one sees a double standard? and Im not a fan of either.

James 4:2-3 Ye lust, and have not: ye kill, and desire to have, and cannot obtain: ye fight and war, yet ye have not, because ye ask not. Ye ask, and receive not, because ye ask amiss, that ye may consume it upon your lusts.

It's usually a bad idea to take man's ideas and seek verses for them. Many of those verses are a stretch to support a law of attraction doctrine. The law of attraction is something that anyone can do, at least according to the New Age. We should not tread on inclusive grounds. Jesus said that he is the only way to the father. If someone tries to apply those verses, what good is it if they have not Christ the Son of God in them?

"Everything is possible for him that believes"***. Can you define "Everything"? Does this become postmodern?
If I'm believing for ten wives, a mansion, a keg party, and perhaps a little peyote to do with the pagans; that's clearly against the will of God. The law of attraction is an appeal to the flesh.

I seriously doubt most here believe that you can ask for anything and get it, or see it as a way to gain. I think when they say it makes sense, they mean more along the lines of...if you have a negative attitude, you can expect to see everything colored in that negative light. If you have a positive attitude, you can expect to see things colored in a positive light overall. And that does make sense.
