Depends on whom we are blaming for that. God is not actively NOT choosing, rather he is choosing.

You're talking out both sides of your mouth IMO... According to your belief... If a person is not the elect then God does not choose them.. In case you're not aware... That is NOT choosing..

Our only hope is that we're one of the lucky elect ones who gets chosen unconditionally.. Because obviously the non elect do not get chosen.

Many simply want to consider themselves the elect along with the infinitely glorious Lord Jesus Christ... Although all in Adam are condemned (already) and all are freely justified in Christ, the Last Adam, the elect of God, the Chosen ONE in Whom the Father delights.

If God chose YOU unconditionally, then what would that have to with YOU trusting in the LORD ?

Obviously that had nothing to do with it, or it would not be unconditional..

God choosing us is completely different to us trusting him. But in order to have faith in God, you have to trust him since trust is a part of faith.

This doctrine has been explained every way possible. Expert theologians have been sited, personal testimonies have been given, scriptures have been offered, and opinions have been expressed. I'm not attempting to force you to believe something you can't.

The only reason I'm even here is to defend your using my quote in your OP as a soapbox for your argument, and now that I have done that, I am only offering my assistance to you if you want it. If not, I'm OK with that and your understanding as you have expressed it for your self.

I jumped back in here because you pointed out that no one else has, and I thought you might be seeking more discernment on this doctrine. I'm not going to leave you hanging, but I'm guessing there is a stiff-neck that refuses to be turned, and dares anyone to try. Maybe that's your motive. If so then I the jokes on me. Congratulations. I fell for it. I think that's why no one else has jumped in.

I agree, and have outlined what I consider an extremely important distinction between being convicted by God as compared to being regenerated by God..

But in order to have faith in God, you have to trust him since trust is a part of faith.

And that's where the mountains of undeniable evidence within the Holy scriptures do convict, or convince us of these things... and that can all happen before a person is regenerated, because that's what the Holy Spirit does.. He convicts the WORLD of sin, righteousness, and judgment... AND our Lord Jesus Christ is that true light which lighteth EVERY MAN which comes into the world...

Regeneration is clearly after a person hears the truth of the gospel.. and they're convinced of the evidence.. they trust in Christ.. and THEN God seals them with the Holy Spirit of promise.. and we're baptized into that ONE BODY by the same SPIRIT.

This doctrine has been explained every way possible.

Unconditional Election is extremely simple and imo extremely shallow in its attempt to sum it all up so to speak.. because the simple truth of the matter is that according to unconditional election, YOU are either one of the ELECT or YOU are not, and there is not a single thing which a person can do to change that.

That's why it all falls apart when we begin to see that we are not the elect at all... we're all condemned in Adam and this too is foundational to the truth of scripture... that all in the FIRST Adam are under the same condemnation and that all may be justified freely in the Christ, the LAST Adam.

That's why it's also foundational to the faith that we deny ourself, take up our cross and follow Him..

So how that leads to many believing that God is choosing me is certainly imo a severe contradiction to the truth of the scriptures.

Here's a wonderous portion of scripture concerning not only the Apostles of our Lord Jesus Christ.. but for all who follow Him..
