Adam was not the very image, but was made in the image and likeness of God, the same as the law was not the very image but a shadow of things to come, so Adam was a figure, (shadow) of things to come.The image of God is Christ not Adam. We are being conformed into the image of Christ who is the image of the invisible God, not Adam. Adam is of the earth earthy.
There is no better image of a Father than a Son, don't you think?
God has made no covenant with Gentiles. Everything Gentiles have in Christ is through the blessing God placed on Abraham not through covenant.

Colossians 2:17 Which are a shadow of things to come; but the body is of Christ.
Hebrews 10:1 For the law having a shadow of good things to come, and not the very image of the things, can never with those sacrifices which they offered year by year continually make the comers thereunto perfect.

The covenant God made with Abraham, made with the fathers, in the seed of Abraham all the people of the earth are blessed. ( the covenant is the blessing.)
The redeemer coming to Zion, turning from transgression in Jacob, and His covenant is the Spirit and word not departing out of HIs mouth nor out of the mouth of HIs seed for ever. ( from hence forth when the Messiah was sent t turn us away from iniquity/away from the power of satan the wrong spirit.)
The blessing of turning us away every one from our iniquities, ( the conformation of the covenant made with Abraham and the fathers for all nations) was the blessedness on the circumcision only ?
Isaiah 59:20 And the Redeemer shall come to Zion, and unto them that turn from transgression in Jacob, saith the Lord.
21 As for me, this is my covenant with them, saith the Lord; My spirit that is upon thee, and my words which I have put in thy mouth, shall not depart out of thy mouth, nor out of the mouth of thy seed, nor out of the mouth of thy seed's seed, saith the Lord, from henceforth and for ever.
Acts 3:25 Ye are the children of the prophets, and of the covenant which God made with our fathers, saying unto Abraham, And in thy seed shall all the kindreds of the earth be blessed.
Acts 3:26 Unto you first God, having raised up his Son Jesus, sent him to bless you, in turning away every one of you from his iniquities.
