What is your take on the Austrian Pfeifer-Zeliska .600 Express magnum ?

Same thing. What's it for? Showing off. Demonstrations. Wall hanger, lol. Even if i was rich i wouldn't buy something like that. I'm sure it's nice and all like that, but with no practical use, i wouldn't ever have a need for it. Technology has advanced to the point that they can build things that work but have no use other than profit-making. They can't cost that much more to make than regular guns, just a lilttle more steel and then they put outrageous price tags on them because of what it is. That .600 is almost a crew served weapon lol.

America is really weird country. Like everyone have their own gun in the closet? And why do you have a gun with you, what Americans do with those? I have been shooting with an RK-62 which is great weapon, but it was only during the military service.

That 50 BMG is a vicious round. I did the energy calcs for it and it is ~13000 fpe. Like touching of 13 44 mags at once, and with enough weight to the slug to be an incredible penetrator. Wow.

Vicious round is right, I remember one time on Fort Benning we were on the range and the barrel had turned white hot and one of our younger guy's grabbed it by the barrel as we were packing up' man you should have seen that dudes hand.

It's actually a pretty practical round also, even for civilians with todays political climate.

I wanted one for a long time until I got to see one up close and was offered to shoot it. A man at the range had a bolt action .50 and he was a big boy maybe 300 pounds, and when he touched one off it would set him back in his little folding chair about two feet or more. Me being a skinny guy I sort of lost my desire for it at that point, lol. For general use and such in todays world a .308 Win. or 30/06 would be much more useful and very vicious in their own right.

What is that Air? A .223?

It doesn't happen very often Air. Most of us gun owners have boring fun at the range or hunting fields with no one hurt. The reason you do not hear about this sort of thing is because it is not newsworthy. I grew up around guns and raised my kids with loaded guns all over the house. This would have been the headline: "Family of Four at gun Range with many Deadly Weapons. Many Had Fun, No One Hurt." It just wouldn't sell many papers Air.

My and my ex-wifes first date was an afternoon shooting 22 rifles at tin cans. We had loads of fun. She had never shot a gun before. Shooting guns is fun and has put meat on the table. At home they are for protection, investment and collection. More fun than collecting stamps or baseball cards, lol.

It's not scary. It gives one a sense of confidence. I worried less about my wife being at home alone when I knew she was armed than if she had not been armed. She could shoot very well and liked to go shooting. The only reason you think it's scary is because all you ever hear about is tragedies and misuse with firearms.

I looked at the 500 mag but that's a bit more gun than I like

The TCs come chambered for most rifle cartridges too including the 30.06, 375 Winchester and the 45-70 Govt calibers.

Looking down the wrong end of any barrel the thing looks big.

Oh those TC Contenders in 44 mag that were mentioned earlier I wanted to touch on. I shot one before, my friend had one. Those are cool guns and versatile with the changable barrels and stuff but it was weird. It was superbly accurate, but in shooting it, I found it unappealing to me. First off, it's a single shot, and secondly...(I may ruffle some feathers with this, lol) I found it boring to shoot. There was no challenge to it at all. It sounds weird, but it was boringly accurate. Does that make sense? lol

Had the 222 and the 357 Herrett barrels.
Sold the gun with both barrels for those reasons

The 222 was more accurate than the 357 though out to about 50 yards. But the 357 could reach further of course.

bah, I like the dishka better. the ma2 is good weapon but its even cylic now and faster. the army is phasing out the m16 and going to the m4 carbine. its a slightly different weapon. its style is similar but the army handle is gone. its can attack the m320 and the m26 shotgun plus sights and scopes with the rails system.
