Scriptures were always meant to be reflections of thoughts and intents of the hearts. It is logically unlikely that any two reflections are going to be the same.

From what i see the heart was to sell a book using the scriptures.

it wouldnt be as bad if he did a commentary. like dakes did. i wonder with this new look whether or not i should move on from my church or any that do espouse that view

Scriptures were always meant to be reflections of thoughts and intents of the hearts.

Reflections of thoughts? Intents of the hearts? Seems I read somewhere they were more than that!

{39} "You search the Scriptures because you think that in them you have eternal life; it is these that testify about Me; John 5:39 (NASB)

It is logically unlikely that any two reflections are going to be the same.

Logically speaking, that last statement makes no sense. Nothing personal. It just doesn't make any sense.

Quoting scripture to eliminate scripture? lol

Well, you see, we again have differing reflections on these matters. You cited Hebrews thinking that somehow eradictes various aspects of Gods Words. I don't see that whatsoever.

Hebrews 4:12
For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.

Logically speaking, that last statement makes no sense. Nothing personal. It just doesn't make any sense.
One can observe a field of wheat and on the surface view they would all appear to be identical, however a closer examination will reveal the fact that every single last one of them is uniquely different. Again it would just depend on the reflector/viewer.

People are no different. God made us all as wheat. Not a single grain of wheat is identical to any other that has ever existed. That is part of the Glory of Gods creation.

enjoy!

Read the book of Hebrews again and then tell me "apostolic teachings oppose" my "stated conclusions."

It's nice to see that you continue to err on the side of folks like Lindsey and Camping, though. At least you're consistent.
Wow comparing Hal to Camping. now thats a stretch, how about comparing Billy Graham to Westboro Church.. I think the true argument with post tribers is only that other don't believe thier theory. I've study both side over and over. Quite frankly post triber leave to many question un answered.

Ya got a point Free, Hal has way more failed predictions:shrug

point, Hal believes in a Risen Jesus, by His blood we are saved, and can you quote these "more" predictions you speak of? Everybody has an idea about the end of the world. People are curious to know these things, no one has the corner market on it. These things are not salvation issues anyway. one question hitch, When does Jesus come and recieve us unto himself to live in his Father,s house "heaven"?

What do you think King David take would be on this? :chin

King David is rarely appealed to as an authority on marriage.

Deu 17:17 - Neither shall he multiply wives to himself, that his heart turn not away: neither shall he greatly multiply to himself silver and gold.

I'm going to assume Hal Lindsey has never had a rival murdered, so ironically he's probably a better husband than prophet.

ok, first of freeway. neither stormcrow, sinthesis, reba and myself are post tribbers.

the former three are all partial preterist and my self i am looking to see what fits the bibles the best. i dont buy into any seven year time period nor the fig tree theory.

hitch comes across as a post millenialist.

the problem for your camp to include post tribbers and mid tribber is the time frame that he must come within the "genearation" that saw isreal come. you cant count the ww2 vets and generation as they are dying off real quickly and that places a time frame on his return and this"no man knoweth the hour" applies.

then you must account without being conspiracy like as gazelle does with the fact that since 1948 earthquake intesnity hasnt really on the average increased, its fluctuated but never real steadily increased.

and since most of you are americans and canadians that espouse this can you tell me why only the west has the corrupted form of christians in such large amounts whereby in asia, africa and the middle east it grows?

so then if signs were to telegraph his return then why would then jesus say this behold i cometh as thief in the night? i think that the signs given were to that generation of judgment and for us to see that these will be around when he comes. but in the days of noah there was a lot of sinning and im sure there was a mocking of noah when he built that arc that took one hundred years and i bet he told all that he could why he did it. most pastor teach that story like that.

now then could we honestly say that with the lord return that it will be like that? the bible says it will be and theres was im sure false religions around then.

You have said your pastor loves the Lord.... Preaches salvation .... You will never find THE perfect church cause they are people. Chew the meat spit out the bones.

Unless the pastors over done like Camping or uses scripture to make a million bucks are they any different then the rest of us?

Not speaking for Hitch...

Joh 6:44 No man can come to me, except the Father which hath sent me draw him: and I will raise him up at the last day.

Joh 6:40 And this is the will of him that sent me, that every one which seeth the Son, and believeth on him, may have everlasting life: and I will raise him up at the last day.

Joh 6:54 Whoso eateth my flesh, and drinketh my blood, hath eternal life; and I will raise him up at the last day.

Joh 12:48 He that rejecteth me, and receiveth not my words, hath one that judgeth him: the word that I have spoken, the same shall judge him in the last day.

Joh 5:28 Marvel not at this: for the hour is coming, in the which all that are in the graves shall hear his voice,
Joh 5:29 And shall come forth; they that have done good, unto the resurrection of life; and they that have done evil, unto the resurrection of damnation.

:biglol Never thought of it quite like that.....

All predictions listed in 'The Late Great Planet Earth ',, All predictions listed in 'The 1980s Count Down To Rapture, and lets not forget Planet Earth 2000 AD , in which Hal officially exchanged the famous FIG date of 1948 for the more convenient 1967, as his earlier predictions crumbled.
Everybody has an idea about the end of the world. People are curious to know these things, no one has the corner market on it. These things are not salvation issues anyway. one question hitch, When does Jesus come and recieve us unto himself to live in his Father,s house "heaven"?
So how about you free, the titles above contain quite a number of Hal's specific predictions, can you quote a half dozen that came true as predicted? Can you quote one?

At least Ol' Weird Harold had the anatomy to be specific , Hal display his used car salesman's ethics by always leving a stoat hole to wiggle out of yet another failure.

If you're going to quote JESUS on the eschatology forum I'll be forced to make a formal complaint.

Chew the meat spit out the bones.
Good advice.

There's no sin in writing and selling books, even about God.
Everyone in the ministry has a right to earn a living, and who on TV can afford to present the Gospel without income?

I watched Hal Lindsey this morning. He warned of obvious concerns in today's USA, and proclaimed Christ as the only way to heaven.

For me, this type of attack falls lock step with the adage, "Christians are the only army who shoots their wounded."

Don't lose rewards of your own for attacking someone who preaches Christ crucified. He's won many to Christ; how many have you won? I fear you're treading on thin ice and disappointing God. I know the Spirit within me is grieved. No one is perfect. We are forgiven. Don't refuse to extend the forgiveness to Hal Lindsey just as God extends His forgiveness to you.

Will you all be listing your favorite sins so your peers can judge you here equally as "well"? I suppose not. I pray that God will open your hearts and give you guidance so that you may all place that anger towards a worthy goal for Christ's gospel of salvation by grace.

My sins the ones i see and keep working on, bet others see more

I get angry too quick..that includes wishing the driver in the other car what ever..and real anger

I do for others but it is not always with a glad heart but begrudgingly

I do gossip

My mouth can get cruel

Do not spend enough time in prayer.

I still feel the pangs of guilt for the times i know i should have witnessed and did not

I am sure there are more those listed are some what open and cover a lot of ground..

I quit stealing over 50 years ago. Stole from mom and ONE time the church offering plate! Thinking about that creeps me out...

A good friend reminded me today of this wonderful old song

'Tis so sweet to trust in Jesus, just to take him at his word'.

Forgiveness sure as in the Lord prayer... Does not mean one should over look.

An extreme example... I would not hire a petafile to watch my kids. Nor a fox to gard the hen house..etc.. Tex Watson is born again i think he is where he belongs...

Lindsey and those like him remind me of the money changers in the Temple.. Using Christiandom for personal gain.

I have know of to many time forgivness was the excuse to not confront when folks should have been confronted.... Pasters 'moved on' becasue of affiars etc...

A true prophet of God is never wrong...

It's not an "attack" on someone's character if what's being written about them is true.

And if anyone is shooting at Hal and Harold, it's only because they keep providing the ammunition and donning the bullseye vest and "8-pointer" headgear.

{10} For there are many rebellious men, empty talkers and deceivers, especially those of the circumcision, {11} who must be silenced because they are upsetting whole families, teaching things they should not teach for the sake of sordid gain. Titus 1:10-11 (NASB)

Written almost like Paul knew these two. :shocked!
