Have you ever had weird sensations during prayer?

the holy spirit isn't confined to only Baptist churches.i know that, but what he has been through I have felt, if it was neurological then it would be all the time. I have had that stuff only in church, or when the Lord moved me.

I remember reading something about this in one of my history books. It briefly mentioned something about the Great Awakening in the US, and it mentioned some strange movements during sermons and prayer.

I think that part of the point is that people need to be shaken inwardly and spiritually by the Gospel. Sometimes people have been visibly shaken as well, but it's not necessary to dwell on the outward, in such instances.

We read in Acts that Felix trembled, for example. So did the Philippian jailer. In Felix's case, there's no record he actually repented and believed, although the jailer did.

Blessings.

Recently, since I've started going to church and bible study I've been noticing something strange.

When I pray I feel like I sway side to side, lightly and slowly. Sometimes I feel like it's supernatural. It happens when I'm standing. (Sometimes I also wonder if it's related to past drug/psychedelic usage)

The thing is, how do you tell something is of the Holy Spirit? How do you tell you have the Holy Spirit? How do you test a physical feeling with scripture?

(Also, what happens if one commits the unpardonable sin?)

Anyway. Has anyone had similar experiences resulting from prayer and/or worship? Or any other strange physical, or spiritual sensations differing from that such as mine?

Whenever I pray before bed I'm laying on my side. I close my eyes and take a deep breath. If I just start praying immediately before the deep breath I feel like my mind is still whirling from the day so it just feels like I'm thinking words (as I pray in my head and not out loud). The deep breath allows my mind to just slow down. Once I begin praying I get tingly all over and the side that I'm not laying on, my left side (usually I lay on my right side facing the wall) gets a sensation of pressure. To me it almost feels like I'm being held and it's such a comforting feeling. But just as we all pray differently, the Holy Spirit speaks to us in different ways. We don't all experience the same exact same feeling as the Christian across the street. God allows us to feel the Holy Spirit in the way we'll process it best...does that makes sense? Cuz putting that in words was harder than I thought lol. Anyway, so what you experience might be the Holy Spirit.

A lot of people when in the presence of the Holy Spirit are brought to tears. Honestly, the feeling I get when I'm around something that is of It can't even be described...the best I can probably say is an overwhelming feeling of peace but it's more than that... there's definitely peace there but it's mixed with so many other unnameable emotions that it's hard to describe. And for your next question, the moment we repent, the moment we give our lives to God, the Holy Spirit envelopes us. It will always be there with us, just as God is.

Also the only true unforgivable/unpardonable sin is rejection of God. Even something as drastic as murder can be forgiven if you ask God and truly regret our action. But remember that even though He will forgive our sins, we will still be judged according to them when we go to Heaven. And though we'll be judged, God will wipe away all our tears.

I hope this helped, God bless.

9 years between posts? Well the concept is ageless.

Romans 8:26 kjv
26. Likewise the Spirit also helpeth our infirmities: for we know not what we should pray for as we ought: but the Spirit itself maketh intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered.

To help the individual this works in our development. To help others words may be necessary.
