Having our name blotted out....

Please name one of your specific sins that was left hanging over your head.... either of you.

Mine were paid for.
I agree that all of my sins were paid for at the cross, past, present, and future. However, in order to be an overcomer one must stay in Christ because He is the one who really overcame all sin and paid for all sin.
If one were to willingly reject that salvation found only in Christ then I believe they would not be saved.

The discussion at hand is not even speaking of OSAS vs NOSAS. It's speaking of how God sees our sin - He doesn't ignore it.
implication of it is. you cant ignore the positions and its interpretations of both sides.

sanctification what is that?

well said, which is what I believe.

The implications are that on the OSAS side, ultimately sin doesn't matter even if they tell you it does. There is loss of nothing. Either side will ultimately determine our behavior in this life. I believe obedience is a key factor, because without it, a person does not love the Lord, people who do not love the Lord are not His disciples because a disciple will love the Lord.

If, if, if, And if a frog had wings, he wouldn't bump his butt.... anyone here even remotely been talking about any of us not believing in God?

If all your sins were blotted out at the cross, then there is no sin left that could get your name removed from His book.

What's wrong with that statement?
.

No, that is not what I am saying and of course I do not ask to be saved again and again. My entire point is that sin in our lives DOES matter and is NOT shoved under a carpet somewhere.

Yet, I am glad that you finally have admitted that sin matters - because no one else in this thread seems to think so - except for Gary. Yes, God disciplines those He loves, we are chastised when we do sin, He is also faithful when we turn from our sin and then He remembers our sin no more.

It is the admitting we are wrong part that the others here have taken out of their Bibles and ignored. We must admit we are wrong and turn from the sin - otherwise there is NO spiritual growth.

What I am reading from others in this thread looks nothing like what the Bible says about sin because sin DOES matter!
Why do you think your sin matters?
I think my sin matters because if I sin I don't glorify God. I don't reflect the image of His Son. How can those of the world be saved if we look like a bunch of hypocrites? Will our children and our grand-children turn to God and reflect the image of Christ if we don't?
It not about us, it's about Christ and enlarging His kingdom.

Please tell me, ...what sin can I commit (hypothetically speaking) that Jesus didn't die for on the Cross?

That's right, I know! What do you think I've been saying???

Sin matters and has many implications all around.

How do we conform to Christ while sinning?

I agree, the Cross did NOT blot out all our sins. That is so far from the truth.

Otherwise I think all the apostles didn't get that memo.....Jesus didn't either....

Gary and Jesse..........
The Cross does nothing for our sins...........Hold on now....dont hate me yet I aint even said nothing..........
It's the Blood of Christ our Lord that blots out our sins. NOTHING else will ever.........Every man will fall short when standing before the Father UNLESS we have been washed in the BLOOD of Jesus. It's the blood and the blood alone that will save us..........NOW TRY THIS ONE ON FOR SIZE...............The only thing that will keep you from spending eternity with the Father is....NOW WATCH THIS...it gets tricky here.........the BLOOD OF JESUS.
Another words the most eveil deamon loving woman raping mad dog killer will NOT go to hell for raping and killing and loving deamons...........NOPE............. He will go to HELL for NOT excepting the paayment of the BLOOD or another words getting saved or another words making Jesus Lord of His life........

thats the ultimate sin...........NOT MAKING JESUS LORD OF YOUR LIFE

Jesse, may I suggest you ponder imputed righteousness?

Abraham was declared righteous, but after God's declaration he sinned, he lied about Sarah being his wife, but Jesus tells us in Luke 16:23-26 he didn't lose his salvation even though he sinned after he was saved, ...we all sin after we are saved, but that doesn't mean we are unsaved during that time until we confess our sin, we are saved, born again, ...ponder this also, ...how do we become unborn?

The issue is not being unsaved if we sin, the issue is that sin matters. Our future sins will matter, they will have implications. God sees our future sins, he's not blind.

I can see that the ultimate sin would be not making the Lord of our Life, because all other sins will come from that.

What is presented in this thread is that repentance is unnecessary for future sins, God can not see them because they are already blotted out, and that is not true. If they were already blotted out, then what is the point of living holy and pure lives? What would be the point of living as an example to all the lost? Why even do the works He has prepared for us?

It's the "do nothing" religion because it's all done - that is what is coming out of some posts and it's false.

You seem to be saying that if you sin and don't ask God to forgive you, you will be blotted out of the Lamb's Book of Life.
Sanctification is a process that Christ in us, brings about. If we sin, we looked to Christ as our mediator. With me it is a matter of admitting I sinned (repent/change my mind) , apologizing for my weakness, and asking Him to help me overcome or to have the strength to not do it again. If it just a slip of the tongue, like a moment of anger, I just say I'm sorry Lord and I mean it.
How can God expect us to be better at forgiving than He is? He tells us to forgive even our enemies not after they beg for forgiveness but before even if they never apologize. When we do that we are reflecting His image. He did the same for us.

God does not look at the outer man, He looks at our hearts. The unforgivable sin is blasphemy of the Holy Spirit and is a way (the way?) that one could be 'unborn again' as you said. This involves rejecting the Holy Spirit and giving up ones faith in God. It happens. Like Fish Catcher Jim said, not making Him Lord of your life.

Nowhere have I said that a sin is going to send us to hell if we don't repent - nowhere. When I sin the Holy Spirit convicts me of the sin and I repent because I don't want to remain there.

Yet, sin DOES matter, God sees our sin, other people see our sin. God isn't ignoring the sin we do like some people have stated.

My question for you would be why not?
You mean if you thought that God had already forgiven all your sins you wouldn't see any point in living for Him? You wouldn't see the point in living so others see Him and are saved?
Funny but I don't believe that is how you would react at all, you love the Lord too much to respond that way. Besides He lives in you and He wrote His law on your heart and on your mind. It is His love letter to you.
