What does the Bible mean by Eternal Life?

Already gave scripture when I started posting on this thread and hell is demonstrated in the same place in Luke 16, as I also mentioned in post #8.

What is written is; On each side of the river stood the tree of life, bearing twelve crops of fruit, yielding its fruit every month. (Rev 22:2 NIV)
You'll have to cite me the verses out of the TaNaK, as I don't recall seeing that there, or ever hearing about it either.

Is there a particular verse I need to be looking at? I'm not seeing it in 16:1

the tree of life isn't really mentioned. we can only presume what it was. I prefer a literal.

that could be rendered as crops, but well with the greek being a bit different then English and hard to translate literally. crops will suffice but there is more.

14 `Happy are those doing His commands that the authority shall be theirs unto the tree of the life, and by the gates they may enter into the city;
15 and without [are] the dogs, and the sorcerers, and the whoremongers, and the murderers, and the idolaters, and every one who is loving and is doing a lie.

literally outside the gates of the city are those sinners?

Let's try to save us both a little trouble here and direct me to an exact verse and maybe I'll get it then.
 
I take issue with the NLT, it is the only translation that translates that as "I" and not as "I knew a man" it is misleading and takes away from the Word. Paul himself was not caught up, someone Paul met was.

"I know a man in Christ who fourteen years ago was caught up to the third heaven. Whether it was in the body or out of the body I do not know--God knows." 2 Corinthians 2:12 NIV

"I know a man in Christ who fourteen years ago was caught up to the third heaven—whether in the body or out of the body I do not know, God knows." - 2 Corinthians 2:12 ESV

"I know a man in Christ who fourteen years ago-- whether in the body I do not know, or out of the body I do not know, God knows-- such a man was caught up to the third heaven." - 2 Corinthians 2:12 NASB

"I knew a man in Christ above fourteen years ago, (whether in the body, I cannot tell; or whether out of the body, I cannot tell: God knoweth;) such an one caught up to the third heaven." - 2 Corinthians 2:12 KJV

John said he saw Elders in heaven. Revelation 5

The Lamb opened the fifth seal. Then I saw some souls under the altar. They were the souls of those who had been killed because they were faithful to God’s message and to the truth they had received. 10 These souls shouted in a loud voice, “Holy and true Lord, how long until you judge the people of the earth and punish them for killing us?” 11 Then each one of them was given a white robe. They were told to wait a short time longer. There were still some of their brothers and sisters in the service of Christ who must be killed as they were. These souls were told to wait until all the killing was finished. Revelation 6:9-11 ERV

So? I believe that, actually I believe John may be who Paul was talking about. Paul never claimed to be caught up into heaven he claimed that a man he knew was and the NLT removes those words for some reason. The NLT is a thought for thought translation that was influenced heavily by the opinions of the translators.

This is a Revelation of things to come, which includes the great tribulation, NOT of things as they were or are.
Lots of hyperbole and much attention must be paid to get the actual context.

I can't make a point or conjecture to something I simply don't see, or maybe that is my point but you already know that.
