Hell

I've been reading a lot about hell...what are your thoughts?

How literal do you take it?:chin

I see no reason to assume it's not COMPLETELY literal. What We DON'T know is what it really is.

Fire?? how do you "Burn" a Spirit that has no "physical substance"???

And in any case it's TEMPORARY - until the final judgement, and then it gets tossed into the "lake of Fire".

There's little or no actual data Biblically, except there is "Torment" apparently, and separation from God.

Not a place one would want to go fer sure.

Smaller,
I am having a hard time even undrstanding what you are talking about. Could you simply tell me what you believe about the condition of man, before and after they become saved. Also, I am not masking anything, so you escape me there as well.
Bubba

I understand your reluctance to address many of the specifics put forth. I also think it is good for everyone to examine these various matters for themselves in any case.

I can say that in your case, when you are 'not sure' about whether Satan or may or may not be saved based on one unsupportable text, a good one, Col. 1:20, that does NOT spell out Satanic salvation, you're simply on thin ice with the matter. More than thin. You are on non-existing grounds.

As to mankinds condition pre-salvation? BLINDED BY THE 'god of this world.' Not one whit different that you or I or any other poster who did not know God in Christ prior.

Sooner or later conversations regarding people believing in God in Christ 'post death' are not allowed here for some 'strange' reason, even though it's PLAIN AS DAY in the text to some. Even the RCC allows the possibility of salvation POST DEATH. So I'll pass on this for now in the interests of the censorship of religious views when they meet this particular topic, also strange. But not so strange when one sees 'the real cause' who WILL end up forever and ever in the Lake of Fire and will NOT be coming out. So you are warned to BE nice to your unsaved neighbors. They may beat you in the door....:lol

I will tell anyone where to publically discuss without banning if they contact me, and I always tell The Good News to everyone I meet.

Movin' on and done with this thread. Promote what you will. Part of that is what got me looking as well, so I know you will be used.

George Campbell Morgan wrote this paragraph in His book “God’s Methods with Man†and he says this about the word “eternal", though he held an orthodox position on Hell, how then should we address verses like Mt. 25:46:

On the Word “Eternalâ€
“Let me say to Bible students that we must be very careful how we use the word “eternity.†We have fallen into great error in our constant use of that word. There is no word in the whole Book of God corresponding with our “eternal,†which, as commonly used among us, means absolutely without end. The strongest Scripture word used with reference to the existence of God, is–“unto the ages of the ages,†which does not literally mean eternally. Let us remember however that the self-same word, which is thus used in connection with the existence of God, is also applied to the loss of the human soul. Men have divided the Church, separated from each other, and persecuted one another, upon a thought conveyed by an English word which has no equivalent in the Bible.â

Elijah
Obviously you do not see or understand the countless types of Christ (not literal)expounded upon in the Old Testament Scriptures, which Jesus commented on to the two disciples on the way back to Emmaus,†Then he said to them, ‘Oh, how foolish you are, and how slow of heart to believe all that the prophets have declared! Was it not necessary that the Messiah should suffer these things and then enter into his glory?’ Then beginning with Moses and all the prophets, he interpreted to them the things about himself in all the scriptures.†The only Scripture at this time was the O.T.. Nor do you take serious Scripture such as 1Tmothy 4:10 (Young's Literal Translation), for this we both labour and are reproached, because we hope on the living God, who is Saviour of all men -- especially of those believing.†And 1 John 2:2, “ 2and he -- he is a propitiation for our sins, and not for ours only, but also for the whole worldâ€. In respect to the restoration of all things we have Col.1:20, “and through him to reconcile the all things to himself -- having made peace through the blood of his cross -- through him, whether the things upon the earth, whether the things in the heavensâ€. In regards to the “Tree of Lifeâ€, we have Jesus in John 5:24 saying,†24`Verily, verily, I say to you -- He who is hearing my word, and is believing Him who sent me, hath life age-during, and to judgment he doth not come, but hath passed out of the death to the lifeâ€, how else can you interpret where our immortality comes from?

--Elijah here:
Surely you know that NO on has Eternal Life [at present!] If one were forgiven their sins, there would be none but such as this one in Luke 2. Salvation is CONDITIONAL UPON MATURITY! Phil. 4:13 + 2 Cor, 12:9. Mature FINISHED OBEDIENT FAITH! Heb. 11 had these.. [ALL DIED IN THE FAITH].

Mark 2
[5] When Jesus saw their faith, he said unto the sick of the palsy, Son, thy sins be forgiven thee.
[6] But there were certain of the scribes sitting there, and reasoning in their hearts,
[7] Why doth this man thus speak blasphemies? who can forgive sins but God only?
[8] And immediately when Jesus perceived in his spirit that they so reasoned within themselves, he said unto them, Why reason ye these things in your hearts?
[9] Whether is it easier to say to the sick of the palsy, Thy sins be forgiven thee; or to say, Arise, and take up thy bed, and walk?
[10] But that ye may know that the Son of man hath power on earth to forgive sins, (he saith to the sick of the palsy,)
[11] I say unto thee, Arise, and take up thy bed, and go thy way into thine house.
[12] And immediately he arose, took up the bed, and went forth before them all; insomuch that they were all amazed, and glorified God, saying, We never saw it on this fashion.

You best study Eccl. 12:13-14 before you do your claim of being DEAD IN THE FAITH yet! Even the Rev. 20:12 ones are [DEAD], and not in heaven, and JUDGED BY THEIR RECORD BOOKS!

What do you mean my claim "dead in the faith"? I am not sure what you are talking about? Bubba
