Bible Study History of the Christian Church

Okay but there is no conflict, which is what I pointed out to you. Take it or leave it.

Actually, that’s an incorrect statement. It’s a future tense, imperative verb. Take it or leVe it.

But to save a lot of time, you just carry on saying there IS a conflict and that it’s a PRESENT tense. I wil not reply about it any longer.

I’m gonna start my New Year’s resolution early and only show the evidence for my position once per thread. See #67 where I proved it’s future tense.
OK Chessman.
I'll leave it.
It's good that you show your evidence only once or twice and then let it go. We're not here to convince each other but to exchange ideas.

I just ask that you PLEASE understand my posts and that you do not misrepresent them.

And my next trip here will be to continue with the history of the Christian church.

Whoever hates his brother is a murderer, and you know that no murderer has eternal life abiding in him. 1 John 3:15

Do Christians who hate have eternal life remaining in them?

you'll have to accept that Jesus meant something different by being perfect, now, which BTW, I did explain in post. 52.

The Christian life is all about God’s love being completed in us.

Jesus is our example of walking in love as having The Father’s love perfected, completed, and fulfilled in us, that we will truly be sons of God.

Christian’s who hate, is this life, do not have eternal life remaining in them.

Which is why Jesus taught us to love now, in this life, so that when we stand before Him, He will say these words to us -

Then the King will say to those on His right hand, ‘Come, you blessed of My Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world:
for I was hungry and you gave Me food;
I was thirsty and you gave Me drink;
I was a stranger and you took Me in;
I was naked and you clothed Me;
I was sick and you visited Me;
I was in prison and you came to Me.’
Matthew 25:34-36

As we can all see, the reason Jesus welcomes these into the kingdom, was because they operated in love.

Yes, Amen.
Jesus' instructions were for now,,,the present time here on earth.

No further instruction will be needed once we're in heaven.

I’m sure the history of the Church, as related to Apostolic Teaching will reflect these ideals.

Chapter 1 of The Didache-

Chapter 1. The Two Ways and the First Commandment. There are two ways, one of life and one of death, but a great difference between the two ways. The way of life, then, is this: First, you shall love God who made you; second, love your neighbor as yourself, and do not do to another what you would not want done to you. And of these sayings the teaching is this: Bless those who curse you, and pray for your enemies, and fast for those who persecute you. For what reward is there for loving those who love you? Do not the Gentiles do the same? But love those who hate you, and you shall not have an enemy. Abstain from fleshly and worldly lusts. If someone strikes your right cheek, turn to him the other also, and you shall be perfect. If someone impresses you for one mile, go with him two. If someone takes your cloak, give him also your coat. If someone takes from you what is yours, ask it not back, for indeed you are not able. Give to every one who asks you, and ask it not back; for the Father wills that to all should be given of our own blessings (free gifts). Happy is he who gives according to the commandment, for he is guiltless. Woe to him who receives; for if one receives who has need, he is guiltless; but he who receives not having need shall pay the penalty, why he received and for what. And coming into confinement, he shall be examined concerning the things which he has done, and he shall not escape from there until he pays back the last penny. And also concerning this, it has been said, Let your alms sweat in your hands, until you know to whom you should give.

Hi JLB,
As you know, church history is not only the teachings of the ECF's....so I'm going to move on and certainly it'll get back to that later on.
