Homosexuality , Again, Just leave it alone.

Are you claiming to be totally without sin?

If you are asking me then the answer is no.

I don't want to defend my sins I want to repent of them.

As written over and over again by me and others.

If someone is struggling with sin and acknowledges them. Then they are to be supported.

If someone is defending sins of fornication, lust, lying, stealing, hanging out with prostitutes then that person is not to be supported by the church but separated from.

1 John 1:8 If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us.

1 John 1:9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

1 John 1:10 If we say that we have not sinned, we make him a liar, and his word is not in us.

Defending sin and not repenting from it is the issue here.

If a person is practicing the sin of Sodom in the church and having a sexual relationship with someone then according to the scriptures that person is to be put out of the church.

1 Corinthians 5:11 But now I have written unto you not to keep company, if any man that is called a brother be a fornicator, or covetous, or an idolater, or a railer, or a drunkard, or an extortioner; with such an one no not to eat.

If a fornicator repents then he or she can be restored to fellowship.

Jude 1:17 But, beloved, remember ye the words which were spoken before of the apostles of our Lord Jesus Christ;

Jude 1:18 How that they told you there should be mockers in the last time, who should walk after their own ungodly lusts.

Jude 1:19 These be they who separate themselves, sensual, having not the Spirit.

Jude 1:20 But ye, beloved, building up yourselves on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Ghost,

Jude 1:21 Keep yourselves in the love of God, looking for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ unto eternal life.

Jude 1:22 And of some have compassion, making a difference:

Jude 1:23 And others save with fear, pulling them out of the fire; hating even the garment spotted by the flesh.

Jude 1:24 Now unto him that is able to keep you from falling, and to present you faultless before the presence of his glory with exceeding joy,

Jude 1:25 To the only wise God our Saviour, be glory and majesty, dominion and power, both now and ever. Amen.

If a person had to be completely without sin themselves to say that sin is wrong then Paul, John the Baptist. Peter and all the men who told us not to sin in the bible were hypocrites who had no business writing and exhorting us to "sin not".

The issue is about defending and condoning what the bible has clearly stated is wrong and not to be practiced.

Yes, It was difficult to determine who pfilmtech is writing to, so here is my response:

Who are you writing to?

If it is me, I don't see how you missed it. Did you read the the part about how the Holy Spirit helps us through convicting us of our sins, revealing them to us? And, "as" they are being revealed, we need to repent of them to "Go and sin that sin no more".

Relic said:
And now, I am being purged of some other things in my life. I am being washed clean of the things, the sins, that are revealed to me as they are revealed to me! To resist the whiles of the devil! Daily! Trust God! In due time!

Jesus said as stated in the book of Luke
  • Luke 9:23
And he said to them all, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow me.

As long as we are living on this earth, it is a daily process. We nail our sins to the cross. and as they are revealed to us we repent from them. We turn away from the sins which we are convicted of. The act of repentance is not a passive thing. It is to take action! To turn away from. To stop committing to doing something that is considered a sin. WE Give ourselves over to a changed behavior. a renewed mind, being transformed in the Holy Spirit of Christ Jesus. Discipline of the spirit. It takes effort. You can't change without effort or allowing God to transform you by the renewing of the mind. We take off the old and put on the new. That means we stop living in and acting on our sins! We walk with Christ Jesus, our sins being crucified on the cross. Does anyone get what that means? :-? It means you Give it up! meaning you stop doing it! through the power of the HOLY Spirit. We don't have power within ourselves, being such selfishly natured. We take on Christ! We too have a cross to bear. Jesus wouldn't have said If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow me" , if it weren't so.

It is not easy! Has anyone said it goes without discipline? Giving our will over to the will of God takes discipline.
  • 1 Corinthians 9:27
But I discipline my body and bring it into subjection, lest, when I have preached to others, I myself should become disqualified.
Jesus knows of our nature being liken to the lost sheep, or the sheep that has strayed off. The Holy Spirit of Christ Jesus is going to rescue those that have wandered off that are His. Daily.
  • Hebrews 12:4-17
5 And ye have forgotten the exhortation which speaketh unto you as unto children, My son, despise not thou the chastening of the Lord, nor faint when thou art rebuked of him: 6 For whom the Lord loveth he chasteneth, and scourgeth every son whom he receiveth. 7 If ye endure chastening, God dealeth with you as with sons; for what son is he whom the father chasteneth not?
Repentance is act of turning away from sin, a processs which leads us to abhor our sins so as to not commit to them any more. Hence, the words of Jesus, "Go and sin no more."

We all need to apply the process of Repentance in our daily living, the turning away from sins!

1 Corinthians 1:18
For the preaching of the cross is to them that perish foolishness; but unto us which are saved it is the power of God.

Jesus hung out with all kinds of sinners and even prostitutes. I guess He would not be welcome in the church.

I have long wondered though if Jesus were to come here today if much of todays church would accept Him.

In the words of Todd Agnew;

Which Jesus do you follow?
Which Jesus do you serve?
If Ephesians says to imitate Christ
Then why do you look so much like the world?

Cause my Jesus bled and died
He spent His time with thieves and liars
He loved the poor and accosted the arrogant
So which one do you want to be?

Blessed are the poor in spirit
Or do we pray to be blessed with the wealth of this land
Blessed are they that hunger and thirst for righteousness
Or do we ache for another taste of this world of shifting sand

Cause my Jesus bled and died for my sins
He spent His time with thieves and sluts and liars
He loved the poor and accosted the rich
So which one do you want to be?

Who is this that you follow
This picture of the American dream
If Jesus was here would you walk right by on the other side or fall down and worship at His holy feet

Pretty blue eyes and curly brown hair and a clear complexion
Is how you see Him as He dies for Your sins
But the Word says He was battered and scarred
Or did you miss that part
Sometimes I doubt we'd recognize Him

Cause my Jesus bled and died
He spent His time with thieves and the least of these
He loved the poor and accosted the comfortable
So which one do you want to be?

Cause my Jesus would never be accepted in my church
The blood and dirt on His feet would stain the carpet
But He reaches for the hurting and despised the proud
I think He'd prefer Beale St. to the stained glass crowd
And I know that He can hear me if I cry out loud

I want to be like my Jesus!
I want to be like my Jesus!

Not a posterchild for American prosperity, but like my Jesus
You see I'm tired of living for success and popularity
I want to be like my Jesus but I'm not sure what that means to be like You Jesus
Cause You said to live like You, love like You but then You died for me
Can I be like You Jesus?
I want to be like my Jesus

If someone is defending sins of fornication, lust, lying, stealing, hanging out with prostitutes then that person is not to be supported by the church but separated from.

There is a big difference from what I meant and what Lyrics Dad thinks that I said.

Jesus did not defend prostitution or support the practice by "hanging out" with prostitutes.

He witnessed to them and called them to repentance. He told them to "go and sin no more".

Luke 5:32 I came not to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance.

Paul who spoke the commandments of the Lord Jesus Christ is not contradicting Christ in these verses.

1 Corinthians 5:9 I wrote unto you in an epistle not to company with fornicators:

1 Corinthians 5:10 Yet not altogether with the fornicators of this world, or with the covetous, or extortioners, or with idolaters; for then must ye needs go out of the world.

From the above verses we see that we are not to hang out with fornicators but "not altogether with the fornicators in the world" . Where would Christians be able to go?

The world is full of sinners and we need to "call them to repentance".

That is what Jesus did. He didn't invite unrepentant prostitutes to "set up shop" in the Temple.

In fact Jesus states through the apostle Paul...

1 Corinthians 5:11 But now I have written unto you not to keep company, if any man that is called a brother be a fornicator, or covetous, or an idolater, or a railer, or a drunkard, or an extortioner; with such an one no not to eat.

As far as Jesus being welcome in the church today I don't think I know He would not be welcomed into a church that promotes and defends homosexuality.

Jesus was not the foo foo, limp wristed, effeminate, fruit loop that is being presented by the world as the true Jesus.

Paul warned us about these serpents.

2 Corinthians 11:3-4 But I fear, lest by any means, as the serpent beguiled Eve through his subtilty, so your minds should be corrupted from the simplicity that is in Christ. For if he that cometh preacheth another Jesus, whom we have not preached, or if ye receive another spirit, which ye have not received, or another gospel, which ye have not accepted, ye might well bear with him.

We welcome ex-Thieves, homosexuals and prostitutes into the churches I attend.

We help them to overcome their sins and present the real Jesus to them.

Many churches today look like the world all right. They support the lust of the world.

1 John 2:15 Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him.

1 John 2:16 For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world.

1 John 2:17 And the world passeth away, and the lust thereof: but he that doeth the will of God abideth for ever.

.

Thanks BB,

It is slick poems like that which create confusion and leave out the fact that Jesus called people to repentance, and that those who were close to him were repentant, not unrepentant. They were followers of Jesus, not opposed to Jesus. Judas betrayed Jesus, but in doing so he was not being a follower of him. It greived Judas so much that he hanged himself! So then, wouldn't you think is indication that Judas was heavily sorry for his sin against Jesus, and "abhoring" what he did to Jesus? I would think so!

  • Repentance
    Definition :
to change one's mind, i.e. to repent
to change one's mind for better, heartily to amend with abhorrence of one's past sins

I don't know whether or not the writer of that poem knew that those who Jesus hung out with were repentant of their sins, but that poem is nothing but a slick trick of the devil filled with half truths. Anyone who doesn't take into account the fact that we must stop acting on the sin(s) which have been revealed to us through the "Holy Spirit" of Christ Jesus, will, of course, be betrayed by the contents of that poem. Slick, real slippery slick! :-?

So, Relic, a young man confides in you that he has homosexual tendencies. So far, he is still a virgin but he has these 'mind' desires and is afraid that he may at some time be tempted to sin. Do you hit him with some scriptures of your choice that condemn sexual immorality in order to scare him 'straight' or do you take a more practical approach? How would YOU handle this situation? I'd really like to know since this IS a real situation.

Sex between man and a woman outside of marriage is a sin...

Hebrews 13:4 Marriage is honourable in all, and the bed undefiled: but whoremongers and adulterers God will judge.

The bible calls people who use prostitutse for sexual pleasure "whoremongers".

Name calling...

The bible is just not a book for the politically correct is it?

And you take this to the extreme, BB. By the way, is your above post the one that will nip in the bud the 'adultery thread' that I'm about to open? See ...I told you it wouldn't go the distance!

.

Years ago, when I first started to read my bible, I literally threw it across the room because of all the sins it revealed to me that I was guilty of. It freaked me out because it spoke directly to me! in a voice of such astounding truth and authority! Not in a round about whimpy, mamby pamby sort of way. It was the stark truth about the selfish nature of man, and I was found guilty! I threw that bible as if it was the scariest thing I ever read on this earth! I never had anything convict me so blatantly and strongly in my life!

But, when I admitted the truth of consequences in all things, as taught in the scriptures, be them good or bad, then I learned that sin doesn't have a good pay off. I learned from repeated mistakes and experience. Backslid many times, but still came crying out to the Lord God for mercy, and He heard my cry. And only instructed me in as much as I was willing to devote to growing closer to Him.

The bible only confirms the truth of all things. And when a person is ready to face the truth of what God teaches in the bible, they do not have contrary opinion to the Word of God.

If someone wants to learn biblical truth they seek biblical advice.

If someone wants to seek worldly advice they go to secular sources.

I've been to plenty of secular counselors in my 53 years on this earth. And I've studied enough psychology to make anyone's brain smoke from over-use! Most secular counselors, they don't know squat! They lead you into circles, and only provide band-aids for the cuts on the human soul. They don't know how to heal, the pain and suffering, they only know how to divert your attention from it and mask it. But then again, thatis another subject and thread!
Only God does the healing and provides the cure. And those who scoff at the word of God and how He handles His people with tough love are missing the whole process of intimacy and growth in and with the "Holy" Spirit.
Self discipline in the Word of the Lord IS NOT EASY on the carnal minded person at all! The Holy Word of God strikes down sin with the cutting edge of a double edged sword. And if any one who is a Christian has not experienced that type of pain that is involved in the purging out of sin, has not reached that certain stage of maturity in their spiritual walk with the Holy Spirit of Christ Jesus.

Christianity isn't for whimps! I learned that real fast! I was one of the biggest whimps you would ever see. I was an emotional wreck for many years of my life. Always fearful of having my feelings hurt! NOt strong enough to know what real Godly character and integrity and honor meant in one's life. And not strong enough to take tough love at all.

When a person grows strong in the Lord they are not afraid to face their sins and tackle them head on. There may be a long struggle with some of them, but they know victory is at hand in the long run of it. Practice makes perfect! They know the battle is already won! but the fight continues, sometimes longer for the victory over some types of sin, than for others. Some sins require fasting along with praying for them to be overcome. If you don't know that value of fasting then one wonders, how well have you exercised and disciplined your spirit and flesh in the Holiness of the Lord God?

It is obvious you have not studied your bible long enough and hard enough. If you have, you would know the spiritual implication behind much of the scriptures we have presented in regards to certains types of sin. But all you do is defend the sinners character as if it is not their fault that they are thinking about acting out on homosexuality. You have no thought of the demonic forces, the principalities we battle against! :sad I have yet to see you mention the value of the holding fast to the power of the Holy in regards to the battle mentioned in Ephesians 6:11-20 When held fast and firm, IT WORKS! The Word of God only works for those who work it! And any person who is thinking of acting out on the whiles, the temptations, of the devil has a way of overcoming them!!!

You are also not regarding the fact that God gave each one of us a mind that has a will of it's own. But instead, you say that the homosexual has no choice in the matter. Well God says differently, God says the will of man must be in accordance to the will of God. And if we choose to go against the will of God, we will not escape the consequences of transgression. God created all things. and in all those things he created natural laws that cannot be transgressed. It is impossible for man to escape the natural laws in nature. God created nature. He will not be mocked by the mind of foolish men. Men can try all they will to alter the chemistry, the atoms, the forces of God, but they will eventually suffer the consequences of trangressing God's set order in all things. Mutations and perversion is the result of man toying with God's perfection. and only the power of God can cure what is deformed! NOt mans' made up beliefs or methods of behavior. God's ways are not man's ways! God's ways are truth, man's ways are perverted. Believe it or not, the bible teaches the nature in and of all things. It's up to you to find this truth. It is revealed as more time is spent reading the truth of His Holy Word. There is nothing man can teach God. Man must learn from God. And when man tries to tell God perverted truths. God is not going to budge or alter his truth. And no man can fool God or hide the truth from him! Man thinks they know better than God! What a freaking joke!!!!! Homosexuality is NOT Godly behavior. If you can't believe that then you are blind to the truth of what is taught in the bible, the bible teaches the end result of the action.

Homosexuals these days only have a life expectancy of 40 years. Now isn't that queer! God says the life expectancy of a man is 120 years. Isn't that something! If man lives according to the will of God their life is so much longer! These days, the average life expectancy of a healthy person is decreased by 20 to 30 years that of what God gave to us by living through His Holy Will. And I believe it is because of the pollutants man has added to foods and the elements in this earth.

We are here on this earth and are at liberty to use our wills as freely as we choose, but we are not without consequences for each and every choice we make. God's natural laws will not be broken. We are forgiven of our transgressions against them IF we repent of the action that was being done (turn away from and stopped it). But we still suffer the pain of the action.

God's natural laws pertaining to the physical cannot be transgressed. If you run into a wall, or cut your finger. you Will feel the consequences of it. Of course, you are forgiven of the transgression and healed of it. The healing comes only if you stop aggravating the injury. If you repeat running into walls and cutting your finger, you will still feel the consequences of it. You can only abuse the body so much before it can take any more. It either becomes callused and numb to where there is no feeling left or it becomes scarred and destroyed to the point of that area being useless, or paralyzed. Not enough time or space to mention all the diseases associated with the act of Homosexual activity, One of them is that it does destroys and impairs the normal function of the colon. Many people end up with body bags because they can't control the muscles any longer. This is a form of death and destruction to a body part. Just one of the many consequences that can manifest from this type of behavior pertaining to the Physical manifestations. I don't have the space nor the time to list all of the physical manifestations that result from the homosexual physical behavior. That was just one example, a destroyed colon. Transgress the physical laws of God and you will suffer consequences.

God's natural laws of human emotion are not much different from the natural laws in the material. The emotions are of the spiritual laws. If we transgress against the emotions we are going to feel the consequences. Any psychologist knows this. If you project anger and hostile emotions all day long, the normal consequences will not be joy and peace. It will be of stress and tension to the nervous system. Emotional does effect the physical.
If you abuse your body, you are not going to get health. If you use your body in transgression of God's "Holy" purpose for it, you are going to end up with the consequences of doing so.

Well then, if we transgress the natural order that God intended for male and female, both emotional and physical, the consequences are no different. If we transgress sexual activity by inaprpopriate behaviors, we naturally will get the consequences. The times these manifestations occur are not in accordance to what one might expect. Hence, dormant stages, and the time of incubation. The emotional and physical well being of individuals goes hand in hand. If we transgress what God created for us as being "His" creations without regard to respect of "Godly" character, we will be lowering ourselves to nothing more than mindless animals. God didn't create us to be like the wild dogs or apes or animals without the intelligent use of our wills. Animals just don't "think" like we do. God made us special! And if we act out in animal like mindless behaviors, what does that prove, that we "lack" the God given gift of human intelligence to think and reason above the animals of this earth? No, God made us special for reason. He created us to be blessed through His glory, for it to shine through us in our daily lives. Not like any other creatures on this earth! And if we abuse that gift, we will have the manifestation of the consequences show up in our lives. The world is full of the proof of the mess people leave in their tracks. All because they have transgressed God's laws of order in all things. Hence, Adam and Eve getting the whole thing started. So this mess in life is no new thing under the sun! Why would people these days not see or learn the lessons in life? Read the book of Judges how many times the Israel people messed up each time one of their leaders died! It's generational curses that we are up against!!!! Our stinking thinking and behaviors are all part of the battle and God knows we need his saving grace to overcome! Jesus is the only way to win that battle!

He gave us free will, but to be utilized IN Godly character, not that of the mindless beasts and the ungodly heathens. If we transgress that Godly character, we suffer the consequences.

It's not rocket science, nor is it so complex as the psychologist make it out to be. The mind of God is not focused on the greed of carnality. Greed transgresses the laws of God. God did not intend for us to abuse in his will for us, God did not intend for us to act on selfish motives. God warns us of what greed does to man. The old testament is full of examples of greed in many forms. And we all know the scripture, it is better to give than to receive. Well! for good reason!

Homosexuality is a greedy carnal minded behavior. If you don't understand the nature of the carnal mind in relation to the flesh, you will not understand the teachings of the Holy Spirit. Our carnal fleshly nature is not what brings us prosperity and blessing in life. If we abuse it, we suffer consequences. There are just too many details that I cannot delve into in this forum. Read the bible, study it and you will be shown the true nature in life as it relates to all things in life. The natural order of all things as opposed to the perverted corruption of what God created in life. Not only does God's Holy word teach us about HIS nature and character, God's word teaches us about the principalities that come to kill steal and destroy all that God created us for. How to decern the spirits that present temptation to sin. Which is what I have not seen you to be teaching here in this forum sputnikboy! Show me where you have done so! All I have seen you do is defend the mindset of homosexual character. :-?

You and some others have just attacked those of us who point out scripture that shows what homosexual sin is. You just defended the intent of the sinner in saying they are not responsible for how they think. And that is a lie of the devil.

Jesus knew the mind of satan. If you knew Jesus you would know it also! and you would be teaching these people who want to commit the act of homosexuality that it is not easy to overcome the sin, but victory is at hand. perseverance is key! Not submission to the sin. The perseverence is in fighting the fight in the Holy spirit. It is a daily battle! Ephesians 6:11-20.

And you know sputnikboy, I have yet to see you, or any of the others that defend the homosexual way of thinking, teach any of these things of the Holy spirit's battle, on this forum. You just come here to defend the character of the homosexual behavior instead of showing how to overcome it. And that is a sad thing. :crying:

I'm just sorry that I don't have enough space or time right now to write down all of the information I have about the sin of homosexuality, and fornication, both from experience, and from listening to the Lord's Holy Word.

I just pray for sinners to know the value of repentance as I have learned.

It's a lesson I have learned to accept and utilize in my life as each sin is revealed to me, be them big or small. I know that being human requires a daily walk with the Lord Jesus, and I do carry my cross! It is not easy! but victory is at hand, the battle is won, even though I still fight the fight!

LOL!!! Oh, I love the thump em' and burn em' mentality. Yes, everyone is out to do the devil's work and make up "slick little poems" in order to cause people to go astray where God can never reach them and instead has decided to burn them.

I find the conspiracy theories so comical.

No Relic, what I see this as is another example of the way that some people give themselves excuse to not show love but to be the judge of all that is good and evil.

It is rampant in the "church" today and is the cause of many people not giving Christ the time of day. Sad. Truly sad.

Oh well, I will take Jesus's words to heart and remember that He did infact love the sinner and NEVER once did He call them names and slander them but drew them to Him with His amazing love. Actually, it was the self righteous (hint hint) pharisees and sadducees that got His wrath and were called out.

I too "want to be like my Jesus."

Well, you must never actually love this person as they are nothing more then a sodomite pervert!!!

On a serious note, I do believe that as with all sin that we are BORN with a tendency toward, homosexuality is no different. We are called to overcome the things that we struggle with. This young man is going to need much love and compassion to overcome this thing in his life. He will probably stumble many times and will need someone to still care for him and help him dust back off and try again. What he will never need is for someone to tell him that "God hates fags" and to let him know that his loving God who died for him is waiting in the wings to burn him forever and ever *insert maniacal cackling laughter* because he must not really be a Christian because Christians "don't sin."

Which of the many Biblical thoughts is the right one? Yours?

Maybe, it is just as Jesus said and that believing in Him is what He wants. Maybe, just maybe, He is not the tyrant that makes us get it all perfect (even though nobody can tell me what the "perfect" way is and make it agree with everyone elses "perfect" way) but instead knows what it is to be human and has compassion and love waiting for us. Maybe He only wants us to seek Him and know that He will be found.

Sadly, in this day and age, with so much judgment and wrath in the church, secular sources are the ones that show the most compassion and understanding. It is no wonder people would rather go to a shrink then to Jesus, or at least the Jesus some people represent Him to be.

For the most part, secular sources and the ones that propagate them have their head in the sand when it comes to spiritual matters. Jesus never once said, " Go ahead and continue sinning; those who comdem you are not without sin." No, He says, "...sin no more."

You must believe the biblical Jesus... :D

Watch out for the other one...
