i don't know what to make of all this gun violence (the mass shooting kind) going on in the US, right now. ugh. :-(
back when I was still talking to my elderly Pentecostal friend, there was one making the news, and she sighed and something like "I hope the democrats don't use this as an excuse to take our guns away," and...
ok, I let that slide and all...but really?!?!? And I don't think she's the only church going, conservative Christian who thinks that way. and...
i dunno. i didn't grow up with guns, never had any interest. now...I'm recovering from the shock treatments and everything, and its dawned on me; the US, especially The Bible Belt, is flooded with guns and often other forms of artillery, even in "respectable" homes and such. in a not too distant little town a while back, a very young child was fatally shot during some sort of accident...parents were responsible gun owners and all that good stuff, but...I don't think the risk is ever 0, especially in families with kids. there's a park named after the child, now. :-(
