How many holes do you have pierced in your ears?

Perhaps now the upside down cross can represent the cross of Peter, who was chose to be crucified upside down, not wanting to be crucified the same as Jesus. You know, that upside down cross was symbolic of being humble before Christ long, long, long before others decided to profane it.

As for piercings, I've had my ears pierced, repierced and repierced again, but my right ear will always seem to get "weepy" and then, when I take out the rings to clear it up, the hole quickly heals over. So, I don't wear pierced earrings.... which is a shame for me, because my husband gave me a set of sapphire earrings to match my wedding ring (sapphire ringed with small diamonds) for our 5th anniversary and I would dearly love to wear them.

However, since I tend to have problems with my right ear being pierced, I think... when we get some extra money... I am going to have the earrings reset into a necklace and then add my kid's birthstones as a family setting.

Well, this does sound like a nice, memorable design idea, with family significance to you!

Sounds like you are triple or quadruple pierced, anyway; like, 3 or 4 in a row is often regarded as fashionable (unless you meant the same hole re-done over and over).

Yes, for many women for decades now, having just one hole each side is a thing of the past, so often.

Sterile needle at home was often the method years ago, anyway. Now it seems the mall kiosk or the parlor is often preferred. Sounds almost like you and your daughters did your first holes at around the same time.

I see; well it was more of an adult thing with you, then; but yes it became very much a teenaged girl thing and still is, of course.

Then about 30 - 35 years ago it became kind of almost obligatory for teenaged girls to want double sets of holes put in (soon their moms and grammas were doing it, too!)

Though I do think also that the sheer simplicity of the single stud in the centre of each lobe is kind of classic and almost timeless, really, if this makes sense...

For a woman it's not at all unusual, to have had about 6. (I guess, @Deborah13 , that your daughters had subsequent holes done, to the firsts you mentioned?)

Yes, I just asked Lexy about the other girls. The oldest has one in one ear and two in the other, gold studs and one diamond chip, the middle one only has one in each ear and Lexy has one in one ear and two in the other.
And my son doesn't have any.
