"The issue is that people do not realize that being a righteous man or perfect in your generation in the Bible does not mean sinless."
Christian quote

This shocks me, because of its generality and unbiblical foundation.

A righteous man is he who follows Christ and obeys His commands.
So many now say living in the world and like the world is ok, just expressing faith is enough
and what God requires of us.

This is saying we are saved because we know some facts, but transformation and a different
walk are not relevant.

Now often these same people will say, no you are lying about us. We care deeply how we walk
we just cannot stop sinning.

Again the words are general, full of anger and resentment. The hope was for a magic wand
and the right walk would come into existance, rather than a developing relationship and growth
into a man or woman of God.

If seems people want a short, single solution, like an episode on a TV program and all is now
ok.

We are called to be Holy, to love and walk like Jesus. No compromise. And when we fail,
to repent, pick ourselves up and continue to follow. Only those who do not know Christ
rail against these realities, because ofcourse they literally have no power to succeed no
matter how spiritual they claim to be, their lives testify to their failure.

For he chose us in him before the creation of the world to be holy and blameless in his sight.
Eph 1:4

In him the whole building is joined together and rises to become a holy temple in the Lord.
Eph 2:21

Colossians 3:1 If ye then be risen with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ sitteth on the right hand of God. 2 Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth. 3 For ye are dead, and your life is hid with Christ in God. 4 When Christ, who is our life, shall appear, then shall ye also appear with him in glory.

Eph 2:10 For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them.

There is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus, who do not walk according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit. Romans 8:1 NKJV

Well in itself it's true. The statement is basically Abrahams' belief credited as righteousness + Noah being a righteous man and perfect/blameless(depending on translation) in his generation + all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.

The statement itself is excellent for encouraging people with real problems to not wallow in despair and instead move forward. Obviously it's getting misused, just by reading what you had to say after. Such a shame.

It is interesting how common this verse is missquoted and people literally do not read what Paul is writing.
One group say we have no condemnation because of our faith, and any accusation whether justified or not
is of the enemy. So in effect in their world, a believer coming to their brother to talk about sinful behaviour and
call them to repentance becomes an evil person bringing condemnation on a forgiven individual.

What passes by these folk is the truth that we are to walk righteously, and work through our failures until they
are no more in humbleness and meekness.

Paul puts it we have no condemnation because in the Spirit and the walk that flows from the Spirit there is
no condemnation because our walk is acceptable. Again this group would say this is self justification and
self righteousness, rather than the purpose of salvation and fellowship with Christ.

The problem with hurt and pain in the church context is it justifies making people evil who are innocent and
finding excuses to abuse them. Until we have forgiven all in our lives can we begin to see what is really
enslaving and binding them.
