I've always said i did not want to censor topics. But, we need mature Christians who know how to discuss these topics without turning them into a slugfest that goes on ad- nausium like the OSAS OSNAS consumed this site, or before that the other battles that waged against each other.

By mature Christians, i don't mean apologetically adept. I mean a Christian who can disagree with his bother, but not let his pride or zeal consume him to the point that he has to be right, and his primary motive is to convert the other to his way of understanding. For me, that's narcissistic and self serving which doesn't advance the body of Christ forward because it only points to ones insecurity or overbearing sinful nature.

I agree we need an Apologetics forum on CFnet. I'll be happy to lead with a topic or 2 but I don't have the time to be engaged in all threads. I'm working on Christian academic articles for publication this year.

We also could have another forum on World Religions. A couple days ago I uploaded to my homepage a new article in which I had a major dialogue with a Hindu on a secular, Australian e-journal, The Hindu worldview clashes with reality.

Try this topic: ‘Inclusiveness’ prostitutes the English language.

How would you respond to the statement: The God (Allah) of Islam is the same as the God of Christianity.

allah is not worthy of a capital "A".
I understand that the roman catholic church interpreted allah as the one and only true god, and we've been having trouble with it ever since.

My granddaughters drag me to one about 40 minutes away at least once a month!

My son, 50 now, used to be a manager for McD's when he was about 20 (believe it or not), he said the meat is good,,,but it came in frozen, so how could he know for sure????
Managers at McD's have to attend McDonald University...really. I think it's in Texas,,,,not sure.

One thing that really stood out to me when I began to look at the Qur'an, is how well the writers understand the concepts of Christianity. Their writings of law demonstrate a good knowledge of the law of God and yet they point a reader away from developing the nature that Jesus Christ has come to show us in the scriptures. As I read it, I saw just how gradually and quickly they introduced concepts that made a follower come to be completely at odds with what the scriptures teach. And so as I understand the spiritual reality of who gets to be represented by the mind of a believer, I realised that this is of an origin that speaks contrary to the origin of Jesus Christ's word, and yet the whole ability to survive as blasphemers depends entirely upon their ability to remain in greater standing according to the judgment of the One True God in whom is no favouritism.

For this reason, Matthew 5:20 and Hosea 4:6 go to explain why the only way to win with God's power, is with the leader to be Jesus Christ "the righteous" (Romans 3:21-24).

There's too much fear on this site and it cuts out topics that are very important.
I hope StoveBolts reads this...anyway, he knows how I feel.

It's kind of like not sending a child out to play for fear he might get hurt.

Some sites have even given up and just include Apologetics with Theology.
I mean, in the end, what's the problem?

Some say that Allah refers to a god that is pagan.
I've never read this anywhere.
I believe that when we read the word Allah in the Qu'ran
it is referring to the One and Only Almighty God that created everything.

Is this wrong??

In all systems acknowledging divinity, there is a recognition of grades of spiritual beings - "gods", and we call them "angels" (servants of God: Hebrews 1:13-14) or "demons" (the fallen angels: 2 Peter 2:4, Ephesians 6:12, Matthew 25:41).

In any system where there is hierarchy (ie, wherever beings are incomplete and not absolute in their being), there is one who is greater than all. When we examine the reason for the imperfections, we recognise that the one who is pure is without blemish, without weakness. In that state He is untouchable - resilient to all accusations because He is blameless. In that category there can be found anyone who is without blame and yet there will be one who has been there longer than all others. That is the one that all religions have named in their own language. That one is the father of all spirits (Ephesians 3:14-15), who remains ahead of all because of His supreme wisdom. Therefore any person gaining His approval to act, is assured His support in the judgment, thus derives all power in the heavens (1 Kings 22:19).

That concept of being righteous in God's sight is what the thief takes advantage of when he takes by deceit the souls that yield themselves to work against the truth. It is the human mind that has the power to act in the physical realm, and it will do whatever it believes is right according to its balance of reasoning. So if he succeeds at getting their mind to follow a course of thought that mischaracterises God, then he gains access through the power of their faith, to act in place of God through them - just as Jesus acts through us as much as we are able to permit Him by faith.

I was asking if Allah is the name of God Almighty ( Deuteronomy 6:4) in the language of Arabic.

You answered what I highlighted above.
I believe your answer is YES.
So Allah is equal to the name God .....

In which case, it is the same God...
BUT, as Muslims tend to honor Muhammad,,,,And not God/Allah, then in that sense we say that their God is different than our God.

But, in reality there is only ONE GOD, the creator, and He can have different names in different languages.

Generally speaking...an Apologetics forum usually turns into another theological discussion forum.
Some Baptists believe that none of the wine spoken about in scriptures had alcohol regardless of what archeologists have proven. Many people want to debate the point where Moses crossed the Red Sea...for theological reasons. Same thing goes for Golgotha and just about every apologetic fact that you can imagine. Because if archeologists are correct then their favorite pet theologies are wrong. .

Even the different manuscripts that our Bibles are made from come under fire.
It's exhausting. So...we have the science forum and the Theology forum...that's enough. No need for the duplication.
