Hi,

I need prayers. I have longed to find girlfriend about 2 years. I have prayed about it almost every day. I know most of girls from my church. I have gone to Christian youth nights and have not found anyone. Most already have boyfriend while others doesn't seem to be interested in me much. I don't even have friend who is a girl, not even talking about girlfriend. I dont have any ideas anymore where to go or how to meet one. I am just depressed. I am burning with desire to love someone as Christ has loved His church. I long to have someone with whom I could spend my time together. I need prayers. I long to have someone who would truly love and care about me but the reality is that I don't even have close friends with whom I could hang out. I just want to feel love and care in my life but there is no one to here to give me this. I dont know why this is happening to me. If only angel would come down and tell me what I do wrong I would repent in ashes and sackcloth and together with prayer do my best to change me.... Please pray for me cuz every new day is agony right now.

I'm not sure how old you are, but this sounds like a very normal part of growing up, being anguished over not yet having found a partner. In time, that will come. My advice is to devote yourself to God in ways you're called to do, and let nature take it's course.

I pray God will guide you, and bless you.

Dear Father, You hear the cry of this young man, You know his heart, and You ask us to come to You for all our needs. Please direct him in Your paths of righteousness, lead him to the love You have for him, and prepare him for the journey. Please help him now to make friends that will glorify you, and take the pain from him. Thank You Father, and I ask this in Jesus' name. Amen.

It's a pleasure to welcome you here among us LPTSTR, and thanks for becoming part of our Christian fellowship. :wave2

Just a quick bit of advice that has served me well. Stop looking for her. If God has a mate in mind for you He will provide. I am married to a wonderful woman for whom I was not looking. It may take some time, but I have to say that when I stopped actively looking for a girlfriend/wife things got a lot easier.

Besides, you never know that God has already put someone in your life that He has already picked out for you. You just have to be patient.

I am afraid of it a little bit. When I became a Christian I read about praying. And one article said that sometimes God wants us to keep knocking. And it stated that many do this mistake that they give up praying just before God is about to answer. So I am afraid that if I stop now then God may not give me her because I asked Him not.

How do that? Is this some Biblical idea or general truth or some revelation you got specifically for me?

This is a good answer and what I was going to write. Every time that I found a decent girl worth marrying, it was when I wasn't looking for her. We just happened to meet.

Matthew 6:33
33 But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you./

This comes from life experience.

Remember God will answer you in His good time. Most likely He is using this opportunity to teach you patience and humility.

This may sound a bit harsh, but stop focusing on yourself and what God should be providing for you. You will only drive yourself crazy. Instead focus on what you can do for those around you. Seriously, you will suddenly find God has provided someone for you before you even realize it.

When I met my wife, I was working and finishing up. I saw my friends helper (cute girl) sitting by herself so I asked my buddy to introduce us. He went and asked her, and she said that boy there? yes I want to meet him. She was pointing at another boy, but Jerzy introduced us anyway and the rest is history.

A little of the God's plan, a little of the Edward charm (I spilled my beer on her tennis shoes, lol) and I married her. :rofl2 Best wife I ever had.
