Serapha: your definitions were good as far as they went:

Using Young's Concordance, the word in Greek: "aphthartos" should always be translated "incorruptible"; while "aphtharsia" should be "incorruption".

You listed a couple of verses using "aphartos". Here are the others:
Rom.2:7 "...seek for glory and honor and incorruption.."
2 Tim.1:10 "hath brought life and incorruption to light."
1 Cor.9:25 "obtain a corruptible crown, but we and incorruptible."
1 Pet.1:4 "to an inheiritance incorruptible and undefiled."

"Aphtharsia", incorruption, is used here:
1 Cor.15:42 "it is sown in corruption...raised in incorruption."
15:50 "neither does corruption inheirit incorruption,"
15:53 "for this corruption must put on incorruption,"
15:54 "when this corruptible shall have put on incorruption,"

The Greek word "athanasia" should always be translated "Immortality."
1 Cor.15:53b "and this mortal must put on immortality,"
15:54b "this mortal shall have put on immortality,"
1 Tim.6"15,16 "Christ...the King of kings and Lord of lords, who alone has immortality and dwells in unapproachable light,"

So, as we see in the previous verse, at present, only Christ has immortality.

God bless, Bick
