In Spirit And In Truth...

Act 19:1 And it came to pass, that, while Apollos was at Corinth, Paul having passed through the upper coasts came to Ephesus: and finding certain disciples,
Act 19:2 He said unto them, Have ye received the Holy Ghost since ye believed? And they said unto him, We have not so much as heard whether there be any Holy Ghost.
Act 19:3 And he said unto them, Unto what then were ye baptized? And they said, Unto John's baptism.
Act 19:4 Then said Paul, John verily baptized with the baptism of repentance, saying unto the people, that they should believe on him which should come after him, that is, on Christ Jesus.
Act 19:5 When they heard this, they were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus.

Mat 3:11 I indeed baptize you with water unto repentance: but he that cometh after me is mightier than I, whose shoes I am not worthy to bear: he shall baptize you with the Holy Ghost, and with fire: (fire means empowerment)

So Prayer has to be the beginning of spirit to spirit communication. I bet it will florish in the times here and to come and bear much fruit among mankind.

You know, it wouldn't surprise me if Believers became able to speak spirit to spirit to each other, like telepathy or something like that. It sure would help those who go through Tribulation that don't take the Mark.

So it's spirit to Spirit then.

So would one simply, oh no not yet. Let's say, Ok, so how would one make their spirit rise up within themselves and take over the prayer and worship...while the carnal mind stands down?

Who would tell their mind to stand down?!
Our mind isn't bad. The carnal mind is bad. Meaning, the flesh and pleasing the flesh (or focusing on flesh) is carnal. Our mind and its use for positive emotions and positive actions that in turn help others......good

Does that make sense?

We know that the Holy Spirit bears witness (talks to) our spirit because scripture says so. And we are the Temple of the Holy Spirit. I have to presume that our "Holy of Holies" is in our spirit then.

So worshipping in spirit is the same as woershipping spirit to Spirit. Now I've never got to listen in on the conversations that the Holy Spirit has had with my spirit and I used to think that He only spoke to our spirits at night when we slept but doubt that now because what it would boil down to I think is He speaks whenever He wants to but it is a different language. A Spirit language.

So how is Believer suposed to force his spirit to speak an unknown language that you can't even hear in order to worship his Lord, in spirit?

How do you do that?
The fruit of the Spirit.

Galatians 5:22-26

Yes it is our renewed inner man's spirit that connects us to the Spirit of God. It has nothing to do with speaking/praying in tongues as that is a different ball game. God only knows His own by what spirit is dwelling in them. If one is not Spiritually born again and indwelled with the Holy Spirit then they are not His own. It's not our righteousness, but God's righteousness within us.

Of course! Carnal really means of the 5 senses, so without use of any natural senses may be a better way to say that.

I duno if I'm ready to call my carnal mind good though. I'm real good at making poor deisions, lol. So it does make sense.

Matthew 13:15
15 For this people's heart is waxed gross, and their ears are dull of hearing, and their eyes they have closed; lest at any time they should see with their eyes and hear with their ears, and should understand with their heart, and should be converted, and I should heal them.../

That's what happens when one does not crack open their Bible. Somehow it sounds like they are talking about spiritual eyes and spiritual ears here. I do note that we are to understand with our heart. That is huge. If our heart has understanding then our heart can think independantly of the mind. The heart speaks to the mind!

No I wasn't talking about tongues. I just thought it must be a different more efficient language, which we are supressed from even hearing so I guess that don't really matter anyway. But I know they talk about me! (I mean, I know we talk about me!) and that it's always in my best interest!

The fruit of the Spirit.

Galatians 5:22-26

And being in the spirit, we must also walk in the spirit...exactly!

I have found that this is one of those things that, it sounds hard to do but it is not in fact. Simply do not even get out of bed in the morning until after you have tuned your spirit to God's frequenncy. The spirit man must be in persona and stand in charge of the flesh. The carnal mind doesn't like that but you cann tell him to shut up.

Sounds like we are back to what was Adam like. I read living soul. I do not read about Spirit till later.

Matthew 19:10 kjv
10. His disciples say unto him, If the case of the man be so with his wife, it is not good to marry.
11. But he said unto them, All men cannot receive this saying, save they to whom it is given.

Man tends toward thinking in the beginning man was perfect. It reads very good.

You have to read the whole conversation in Matthew 19. Then you have to realize the carnal mind can not always understand what is being said. Some just can not get the conversation with the carnal mind.

The above said. I am not wanting to get on this subject, but some posts are speaking
IMHO of a restoration of something that did not exist at creation. Pentecost is the time of the Holy Spirit.

Yes man fell (lower), but man was not totally equal to God in Eden. Man is not now equal to God.

The resurrection is yet to come.

We have treasures in earthern vessels to show what belongs to God.

Need another thread?

In spirit and truth is covered I in Corinthians chapter 7 also. In that marriage and our interests hinder the spiritual side. Not as bad as Solomon but divides our time. Not everyone should be single though.

I totally agree. Carry yourself how you would if you were in heaven already.

1 Corinthians 15:52 kjv
52. In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed.
1 Corinthians 15:53
53. For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality.

2 Timothy 2:18 kjv
18. Who concerning the truth have erred, saying that the resurrection is past already; and overthrow the faith of some.

When we enter heaven we will have received our final changes. At the last trump, changes are still happening. Physical and spiritual changes. If we had ill our changes we would have no sin.

In Spirit and In Truth”

In our mind (mind of Christ) we serve God
In our flesh the law of sin. We will be delivered from this.

Our hope / faith is after the goal of the high calling. How we live in heaven depends on changes received at the resurrection.

Sin no longer has dominion over us, but having no sin is not yet true. If we become overtaken in a sin we may require individual help (church discipline).

So Adam & Eve could not worship God in spirit because they had fallen and Jesus had not came yet?

So Adam & Eve could not worship God in spirit because they had fallen and Jesus had not came yet?
I absolutely wish I could just say nothing, but I hear myself over and over saying something that some others do not hear.

Adam and Eve were not baptized in the Holy Spirit when made in the image of God. The physical bodies of Adam and Eve contained the physical imagery in Eden.

Jesus had the spiritual imagery.

Maybe I should talk about myself. Could I be deceived. Yes. Am I? I hope not. Did I receive the Holy Spirit at my physical birth? No. Did I receive the Holy Spirit when I repented of my sins? No. Did I receive the Holy Spirit when I confessed Jesus as Lord? No. Did I receive the promise of the Holy Spirit when I confessed Jesus as Lord? Yes. At a point in time did I receive the Holy Spirit? Yes.

At my physical birth I became a living soul (mind, will, emotions - with sin baggage).

At repentance I realized my problem.

At salvation I confessed Jesus as Lord.

At receiving the Holy Spirit I became empowered to be a witness.

Adam and Eve became living souls without sin baggage. They did not receive the Holy Spirit. They received a symbolic covering for their sin . Did they still speak with God. Yes a short conversation. Adam and Eve never received the Holy Spirit while alive. Are / were they in Abraham’s bosom? I just do not know.

I am a redneck from Mississippi, Trying to explain the weighty things of God. If I get any of it right He gets the praise.

Back to me. At the resurrection I will be changed.

All was not Available for Adam and Eve. They received a ceremonial garment. Do I understand it all? No. The law was ceremonial in a lot of aspects (pointing of things to come to pass in the future).

I know somewhat of these things. Everything the Lord did had layered meanings. And it was a ceremonial garment of course, it was the first part of the 4 part wedding garment and was the undergarment to it.

I’m inclined to believe that believers who are regenerated by the Holy Ghost worship as new creations in Christ Jesus. And…

Sadly by extension the tares…not so much. It’s the difference between proclaiming a form of godliness but lacking the power thereof.

And abiding in Him and allowing Him to bear fruit in us.

It is a lot deeper than I am able to cope with.
In Adam and Eve’s time the animal had to die to provide the covering for them. Not exactly what we want to accept. Serious consequence for not following directions.

Then today a gentile has no idea of the Adamic background that lead to what happened to Jesus.

Not to mention takin a person beyond the law to show progression into what exists now, and in the future.

So the Jewish person has to leave off some dependence on ceremony and the gentile comes to develop an understanding of what others came through previously.

Out of Jew and gentile one new man is made.

Spirit and truth. Facing the issues.

Partly
Revelation 4:2 kjv
2. And immediately I was in the spirit: and, behold, a throne was set in heaven, and one sat on the throne.

There are more in the spirit verses.

Symbolism points to truth but Jesus is the ultimate truth. The word became flesh.

Good subject.

What u mean the word became flesh?
