Yeah, they are currently converting jet fuel into hydrogen so I would think converting gas to hydrogen would be the norn.
Currently, the Volt gets about 50 miles on a charge before the gas engine kicks in to charge the battery. The Bolt gets about 250 miles on a charge. Slap a hydrogen fuel cell on that bad boy and you could cross the country with no iisues.

No, that one does not convert gas to hydrogen. You have to have a hydrogen filling station with that car. Current infrastructure would not allow you to go across the country easily because of the lack of hydrogen filling stations.

The U.S. Army is also capable of extracting hydrogen from its J8 fuel.

It was my understanding that the army is making hydrogen from J8 in a separate facility. The GM SURUS vehicle itself only has hydrogen fuel cells. I may have misunderstood.

Still, its an interesting concept. Convert petrol to hydrogen inside a vehicle, and then use the hydrogen to run the vehicle. You could fill up at any service station that way.

You got it! And mpg will be through the roof.
Zero accidents, Zero congestion and Zero emmissions.
You gotta start somewhere... zero emissions is the low hanging fruit. I think we will see this in 2020, 2022 at the latest.

This is why GM is cutting its employees. There are far more white collar workers leaving than blue collar.

Clean air and better, more efficient use of our finite resources until renewables take a stronger foothold.

If you follow these cuts, they are replacing many of these jobs with highly skilled developers that will help transform the automobile industry.

I dont like the idea that over 15,000 workers will loose their good paying jobs. But I understand this pivotal shift in the auto industry.

GM and Honda have teamed up to make robot cars. Softbank has also invested $2.25 billion in the GM robot project. Its a race to get there first. GM seems to think robots are the future of cars.

GM announced 1,100 new automation jobs.

Robot taxis are supposed to replace the family car for many households.
