Hehe, well it's just as well that I cancelled today's report, since there isn't enough interesting news articles that there wouldn't have been news today anyways.
Empty shelves are an artifact of central planning (e.g., USSR). Items too expensive for the average person are an artifact of licence raj (de jure monopoly/oligopoly). India used to be an example of that.
Unfortunately, the USA has adopted elements of both. Bankers are centrally planning the economy, and lobbyists are demanding licence raj.
