In Today's News

I hope everybody enjoyed their Labor Day weekend and welcome to another edition of today's news. :) Before we get started for the day what did everybody think about those other three articles that I posted yesterday? I definitely hope those girls (and maybe it was their mother too) get justice and what a wonderful training program for the visually impaired. Anyway, onto today's report! :salute (looks a bit lengthy today)



First of all in today's news, here is a very important message for parents, grandparents, aunts, uncles, and guardians of any children. (it's also an important reminder for me since I need to be scheduling to get my flu shot soon :yes) Every child over six months of age should get their flu shots as soon as it becomes available according to pediatricians. And also an investigation is currently underway dog that was paired with an inmate in an animal and prisoner program was found dead in a cell late last month. :sad Here's more of the details.

And an Ohio state trooper was arrested last Friday after he was accused of taking nude photos with a seventeen year old. Here's more of the information.

And also a seventeen year old boy was tragically shot and killed yesterday on Cleveland's east side. Here's more and my thoughts and prayers go towards his friends and family members. :pray

And a thirty-five year old woman was fatally shot and killed early this morning. Here's more of the information.

Also the family of a woman that was brutally murdered twenty-five years ago is currently fighting to keep her killer behind bars. Here's more.

Finally in today's news, (after a bunch of bad news this really warms my heart to give you guys some good news) there really is no place like home as thirteen years after the famous ruby slippers that Judy Garland wore in the Wizard of Oz, were finally recovered. :thumbsup Here's more of the details.

Yes, training puppies to help people is a good thing.

The article didn't say when flu vaccines would be available this year.

Nice that they found the slippers after all these years.

Flu vaccines are usually start being available this month and yeah, I was a bit confused about the slippers because I thought they were in Washington but it looks like they had another pair. Oh and by the way, jasonc, I never thanked you yesterday for reminding me the power of prayer helps when I start becoming stressed. :)

I would be remiss if I didn't add it was the prayers of the guys at the Tuesday prayer group who prayed over the repair work I was doing on my Toyota. I discovered the problem last week, had to order the parts online and install when I could. it still needs the alignment. it was the bushings that gave me hell. I need to buy the tie rod tool for this as I know I will use it again. odd ball and large size.

So a doctorate in philosophy would be a doctor of Ph.D?. I thought philosophy was a general thing. I didnt know you could acturally study it. I guess I learn something new today. I thought it was a study that seeks to understand the mysteries of existence and reality, can it be mastered.

Well, in fact the word "philosophy" has a much wider meaning if you trace it back to its original Greek origins. It really encompasses any academic field that professes to investigate the fundamental meaning of life and existence. This can include such diverse areas as science, theology, language, economics, astronomy and what we now think when we say, "philosophy".

Yes, philosophy itself is a specific field and you can get a Bachelor's, Master's, and Doctorate in Philosophy.
