In Today's News

Then a town or city or state couldnt even the pension I'm promised for the military service ,cops nor state police will have pensions, So you expect our banks to eat that loss?

No. What's been happening is that state retirees eat the loss. Most are paid every penny, but the pennies don't buy very much. Their pensions are slowly inflated away. Some state/city retirees even have their pensions trimmed outright. Same thing happened to corporate retirees before them Jason.

You give govt more credit then I will given that towns are using utility department's to fund themselves .the more income they get insnt the problem but the waste as theirs little incentive to spend wisely

I might believe that if corporate pension plans weren't in the same situation. Pension plans simply cannot be funded with bonds that don't keep pace with inflation. European pension plans have to contend with negative interest rate bonds, plus inflation on top of it. Pensions are doomed by inflation and QE Jason.

Meanwhile, bankers use their printing press to bail themselves out of their absurd derivative positions that rogue bank derivative divisions got them into.

Hey guys, welcome to another edition of tonight's news. :)

That's amazing about the woman who survived a parachute jump, without a parachute. Wind resistance tends to max out velocity at about 100 MPH. They are taught how to land to maximize their chances. Spreading the force of impact along a maximum non critical area. Still, that's pretty amazing. Maybe the trees helped to slow her down a bit before she reached the ground.

Reminds me of the James Bond movie where Jaws didn't have a parachute. He glided over to a large tent to absorb the impact.

May the Lord bless you.

That article was not written very well (probably intentionally). It made it sound like the woman had no parachutes at all. What probably happened is the main chute deployed but failed to open fully (not at all), and then the reserve chute opened into the trailing main chute and produced a double malfunction (the main chute is supposed to be cut away prior to reserve chute deployment). The trailing entangled chutes would have provided some significant amount of slowing drag, and then her descent was further slowed falling through the tree brances. There's no way she would have survived a true terminal velocity impact. Still impressive, but not really a miracle.

The body of the article even states, "Witnesses described watching in horror as she plunged to earth with both her main chute and reserve trailing uselessly behind her."

That's the most important things for children to learn.

Treat people in the same way that you want them to treat you. Luke 6:31 CEB

Anyways, hello everybody and welcome to another edition of today's news. :)

I think they are supposed to take the main sail down, and use sea anchors when a storm rolls in. Sea anchors keep the front of the boat pointing toward the waves. Boats can usually handle waves that come from the front of a boat. Its waves that come from the side that tend to capsize boats. Waves that come from the back can sink a boat too. People should be properly trained in how to put out sea anchors if they can't get back to dock in time.

Also, many boats are designed to be righted manually. If people are trained how to do so.

May the Lord bless you.
