Is Allah and God the same?

If you mean are the words Allah and God the same them yes those words have the same meaning.
But if you mean is the God of Islam the same as the God of Christianity, then no they are not the same.
Islam's Allah is a single unknowable remote being for whom the ends justified the means.
In contrast the God of Christianity is a trinity, loving and receiving love from the other elements of the trinity, he is knowable and is involved in human life.

Just curious is all
For sure, there are differences in the way that the Beloved is understood by those who serve Him; and who do so according to the teachings, customs and practices of their given Abrahamic Faith.

Nevertheless, all three agree rhat there is only One God, our Creator and Lord; who can be known with certainty, by the natural light of reason from created things; who is absolutely perfect; who is actually infinite in every perfection; who is absolutely simple; who is the True God, possessing an infinite power of cognition; who is absolute Veracity; who is absolutely faithful; who is absolute ontological Goodness in Himself and in relation to others; who is absolute Moral Goodness or Holiness; who is absolute Benignity; who is absolutely immutable; who is eternal and everywhere present in created space; whose knowledge is infinite.

By the way, I have yet to meet a Trinitarian who asks if HaShem is the same God as theirs; or if the God of the Biblical Unitarian is the same as theirs.

Hey All,
I do not believe they mean the same. Both are considered God by their respective followers. So in that respect only, then yes. But you can google the different beliefs of who God is (His attributes )in Christianity and Islam. Those differences change the meaning of the word "God."

Christian faith is first century A.D. Islam is seventh century A.D.
The following is only my opinion. I cannot prove it. But Allah sounds like a distortion of the word Abba.

Romans 8:15 For ye have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear; but ye have received the Spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, Abba, Father.

Galatians 4:6-7 And because ye are sons, God hath sent forth the Spirit of his Son into your hearts, crying, Abba, Father.
Wherefore thou art no more a servant, but a son; and if a son, then an heir of God through Christ.

Abba means father coming from the aspect of the son or daughter. (Think about how a child utters before they speak actual words--dada--abba; you get my point.)
Islam cannot call God father with respect of God being triune, because they do not believe in the Trinity. Allah just means God. There is no personal relationship aspect to the word. God is my father because He adopted me through Christ. Followers of Islam cannot say this.

So bottom line, not the same. I hope this helps. Keep walking everybody.
May God bless,
Taz

The god of islam and christianity are not the same. The God of Christianity has a Son and a Gospel. The god of Islam has no son and the quran rejects and denies Christianity.

Think of the logic. God is not going to give different conflicting teachings that make no sense, one that says he has a son called Jesus who was crucified and then another that says he does not have a son called Jesus and he was never crucified.

If it was the same god it would sure be a very confused god that doesnt even know if he has a son or not.

Hey All,p
I have a question? We know how the God of the Bible saves His people through Jesus. (Jesus, being God incarnate, was the worthy sacrifice.)
We know that Islam views Jesus as a prophet but not God incarnate.( Jesus was just a man.)
How thn does the god of Islam save his people?
It has to be a different method. If so, they are not the same. Keep walking everybody. May God bless,
Taz

Sorry for the mistakes folks. I should know better and proofread my note. I don't know how the "p" got there. And the question should read, "How, then, does the god of Islam his people?" (I guess I could claim that I was having a"senior moment." But the truth is that I was just too stupid to check.)

Proof they are different Gods

Quran. Surah 17:111
Say: "Praise be to Allah, who begets no son, and has no partner in (His) dominion:

Bible. John 3:16 “For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life.

"My Father, who has given them to Me, is greater than all; and no one is able to snatch them out of My Father’s hand. I and My Father are one.”

Jesus calls God or Allah as some might call him in other language, his Father.

Allah is not in the bible and Yahwah is not in the Quran.

Alla, Allah, Alilah.
Alilah is The god ascends.
Referring to the rising morning sun.
Mohammad did not know the name of God, so he picked the name of a Pagan god that was the least offensive.

Islam originated some 600 years after Christianity when Mohammad who used to pray by himself in the caves ahad visions and he believed he was demon possesed and he went home and told his wife and her cousin who then told him he must be a prophet, and he believed them and thats where it started going from the most trusted sources available.

So everything in his mind from then on he believed was a revelation from allah and made his own religion. The voices in his head.

It was his wife and her cousin who convinced him he was a prophet.

These are just a few passages in the Quran where Allah gives commands. No, Allah and the God we serve are not the same. I have more passages, but these should do.

Islam's Allah has provided yet another timeless Divine revelation which gives his prophet the right to rape and torture women of other religions.

Surat 4:24
"And all married women are forbidden unto you EXCEPT those captives whom your right hand possesses. It is a decree of Allah for you. Lawful unto you are all beyond those mentioned, so that you seek them with your wealth in honest wedlock, not debauchery..."

The Prophet Mohammed urges Muslims to fight in the cause of Allah:

"Verily, Allah loves those who fight in His Cause in rows as if they were solid Structures." (Surat As-Saff 61:4)

"O prophet Mohammed urge the believers (Muslims) to fight. If there be of you 20 steadfast, they will overcome 200 and if there be of you a 100, they shall overcome a 1000, because the disbelievers are a folk without intelligence." (Surat Al-Anfal 8:65)

The Quran commands Muslims not to befriend Jews or Christians:

"O ye who believe (Muslims) take not the Jews or the Christians for your friends and protectors. They are but friends and protectors to each other. And he among you that turns to them (for friendship) is of them." (Surat Al-Maidah 5:51)

It commands Muslims to fight Jews and Christians:

"Fight against those who believe not in Allah, nor in the Last Day, nor forbid that which has been forbidden by Allah and His Messenger (Mohammed) and those who acknowledge not the religion of truth (Islam) among the people of the Scripture (Jews and Christians) until they pay the Jizyah with willing submission, and feel themselves subdued." (Surah At-Taubah 9:29)

The quran says mohammud was told if in doubt to ask the people reading the scriptures before him, that being those with the Torah and the Gospel (Jews and Christians). But he did not test the spirits he was recieving revelations from and go to the jews and christians to verify, so his religion and religious scriptures obviously contradict. The quran is not fit with the torah and gospel (Bible) because it has different condradicting stories. Jesus was never crucified someone took his place, Allah has no son, and so on different Torah stories that dont match.

The quran also tells the people of the scriptures (Jews and Christians) to uphold the Torah and the Gospel, and also says the quran. So the quran says the torah and the gospel is truth and the quran is truth but the quran contradicts the torah and gospel.

The only excuse i have heard is that the gospel was somehow corrupted but thats completely false because the gospel never changed and the bible was already established for hundreds of years before Mohammud come along, if it was corrupted why would allah tell mohammud to ask the people of the scriptures before him if he is in doubt that being the Jews and Christians, and the quran also verifies and says the Torah and the Gospel is the truth.

The gospel of the christians is the truth and from allah, but at the same time that same gospel the christians have somehow is also corrupted. Doesnt make any sense right.

Quran
If you ˹O Prophet˺ are in doubt about these stories that We have revealed to you, then ask those who read the Scripture before you.

The Jews and Christians. The people of the scriptures.

Say, "O People of the Scripture, you are [standing] on nothing until you uphold [the law of] the Torah, the Gospel, and what has been revealed to you from your Lord the Qur’ān.

Torah, Gospel, Quran. So it verifies the Jews and Christians had the truth.

The Jews have the Torah that is Gods word and the Christians have the Gospel that is Gods word and the Muslims have well i dont know, as i see and read it, a messy book of random surahs that both confirm the Torah and Gospel as the word of allah, yet also contradict them at the same time.
