But not all denominations believe in the supernatural move of God.The prayers in the bible SHOULD BE non-denominational naturally.
All denominations, that I'm aware of, use the same bible.

'Out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks' Matthew 12:34So, why quote a verse that has nothing what so ever to do with naming and claiming.
Paul is talking about the life of faith, not about prayer.
??But not all denominations believe in the supernatural move of God.
I think you are right man! It's kinda like a chain reaction that happens all at once.
John 14:14 "You may ask me for anything in my name, and I will do it."
Luke 10:19-20 "I have given you authority to trample on snakes and scorpions and to overcome all the power of the enemy; nothing will harm you. However, do not rejoice that the spirits submit to you, but rejoice that your names are written in heaven."
The chain reaction is Jesus's authority to overcome a situation. Like him speaking to the wind and waves. Luke 8:24-25
How could someone pray wrong?
'Out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks' Matthew 12:34
What pretext?More pretext without context.
Yes. I see what you mean.It is the authority of the name of Jesus but he gave us authority. So we exercise the authority with our words.
Jesus spoke to the fig tree too, remember? And it wilted overnight.
By praying to God about the problem instead of to the problem about God. He gave us the authority and told us to go forth and heal the people, cast out devils, and all that.
Praying, Oh God, please have mercy upon me and heal me...is Old Testament pre-Jesus type of prayer. Jesus said, I give you the authority, go do it and whosoever asks whatsoever, it shall be done.
I think we're talking about Power & Authority. Our Lord God has the power to do anything, and He has given to us the authority to receive it so it will manifest.
Remember Jesus could not perform many healings in a couple different places in scripture? Because of their unbelief it says. Our belief that the words we speak will come to pass, without wavering, makes it happen. As long as it is within God's will of course. But I suspect that every single word that we speak is either a curse or a blessing. (Don't speak negative!). Every word either brings forth life, or death. (The power of life and death are in the tongue) so, as was already noted by a very wise poster here, be careful what you say.
Observation; I've noticed that, generally, young married couples do not fight fair when they argue nowadays. They curse each other and say terrible things back and forth. They do not realize that, every word between spouses either tears down or builds up. Scripture says, by our tongue we are Justified or Condemned.
I had a feeling it was in the Garden.Easy guys...
Can anyone tell me the first recorded prayer in scripture?
Yes, but do they believe in answer to prayer? And to what extent???
Don't all denominations believe in prayer and praying?
I was taught that there are 3 answers:Yes, but do they believe in answer to prayer? And to what extent?
See, when you're taught over and over that there is no supernatural, miraculous intervention of God in the church today you won't have any faith in your heart from which to pray believing.
I do too.Yes. I see what you mean.
This is something I don't do.
I pray to God about the problem.
I'm beginning to think answer to prayer is more a matter of 'when', not so much 'if'. I mean it definitely is 'when' if you are praying in response to a measure of faith God has placed in your heart. There is no 'if' in that case.I was taught that there are 3 answers:
Yes
No
Not now
Both churches I attended believe in the supernatural and in intervention by God.
I just was never taught that God will ALWAYS answer our prayer, for a healing, for instance.
I notice different strengths of prayer.I do too.
Only rarely have I addressed the situation itself, like how Jesus and the Apostles did when they healed and cast out demons. I have noticed that the few times I did it just kind of came up out of me in great faith.
What if the prayer is for healing and there's no healing?I'm beginning to think answer to prayer is more a matter of 'when', not so much 'if'. I mean it definitely is 'when' if you are praying in response to a measure of faith God has placed in your heart. There is no 'if' in that case.
'Faith'.I notice different strengths of prayer.
Can't really explain it.
"...the God we serve is able to save us from it (the furnace), and he will rescue us from your hand, O king. But even if he does not, we want you to know, O king, that we will not serve your gods or worship the image of gold you have set up." - Daniel 3:17-18What if the prayer is for healing and there's no healing?
This doesn't bother me...I accept God's will.
But some will say this is NOT prayer with enough faith.
I don't think I'm here to tell God what to do.
Also, I've noticed that somehow or other, what happens is always
to my benefit in the end.
He got a big track hoe nowHmm.....somebody better tell Ralph that. I just saw him heading west with a shovel in his hand.
