Is the belief in reincarnation or otherkin really a sin?

I have seen this discussion many times in recent months and it left me puzzled about my identity as a Christian and human being.

I believe we were made in god's image, but then why do so many feel out of place with their humanity?

I think it could be why he said to marvel not at the greatest possible miracle .

marveling wondering is a form of doubt .Doubt can overcome beleive as truth . . a wile of the devil falsely accusing day and night 24/7

Image is likeness of our invisible God in respect to the unseen power of God's Love that he works in us yoked with him .

Those who have no faith as it is written(.No hearing God's understanding) look at the same men. Not empowered by faith they attribute the work of the words of the gospel to the hands of men (hands represent will ). as if we did know Christ after the will of men .

The formula as a counterfeit for both the Greek gods and Roman gods . Blasphemy

Acts 14:7-12 And there they preached the gospel.(the power of our unseen God) And there sat a certain man at Lystra, impotent in his feet, being a cripple from his mother's womb, who never had walked:The same heard Paul speak: who stedfastly beholding him, and perceiving that he had faith to be healed,
Said with a loud voice, (as a loving gcommandment)Stand upright on thy feet. And he leaped and walked. And when the people saw what Paul had done, they lifted up their voices, saying in the speech of Lycaonia, The gods are come down to us in the likeness of men. And they called Barnabas, Jupiter; and Paul, Mercurius, because he was the chief speaker.

Again the counterfeit. according Paul who represents Moses the father as our living God who put his words in the mouth of Aaron. blasphemy.

God looks on the inside or other side the hidden side of the coin. Give to Caesar what is Caesar's .(Roman gods) and give to God that which is his, as it is writen the power of faith

Exodus 7:1 And the Lord said unto Moses, See, I have made thee a god (they called Barnabas Jupiter) to Pharaoh: and Aaron (mercury) thy brother shall be thy prophet.(chief speaker)

We must learn how to walk by faith after the unseen things of God

Hey All,
The word "Reincarnation" is never mentioned in Scripture Josh2010. This, however, is Paul's description of life after death.

2 Corinthians 5:7-8 (For we walk by faith, not by sight:)
We are confident, I say, and willing rather to be absent from the body, and to be present with the Lord.

So if the Bible says how it is, and the world says something different, but you believe the world's lie, is it a sin? I believe it is.

Let me explain. Reincarnation changes one's walk. I don't have to worry about sin anymore because whatever I mess up, I will just do better next time. This is very different than caring about sin because I am in a relationship with God. When I sin it hurts my heavenly Father. So I consciously try to not sin. I hope this helps. Keep walking everybody. May God bless,
Taz

I have seen this discussion many times in recent months and it left me puzzled about my identity as a Christian and human being.

I’d suggest that such beliefs are no more sinful than believing Earth to be flat, or the moon to be of cheese. That a theoretical error can lead to sin in practice, is another matter: Hitler truly believed, I think, that ethnic Jewry wasn’t at one with his evolutionary links—survival of the Aryans! Paul didn’t bang on about the polytheism of Athens (at best lower worship), but invited such folk to move from primary school into tertiary education (Ac.17).

We are all of the first Adam—however that should be defined—bog standard human beings in God’s image (Imago Dei). Creating an otherkin is no more real that creating a multiverse to block out God: it’s subreality, a fun realm in which to relax and enjoy a good vampire story. Back to reality, if we have welcomed God’s son in his human mode, Jesus, we are also in Christ’s image (Imago Christi), and can access suprareality as family.

The existential problem at large, is that we have divorced from God (Dei), and the Imago cannot long survive alone (The Abolition of Man, C S Lewis). I love the line where Merlin cries out, “ They that have despised the word of God, from them shall the word of man also be taken away” (That Hideous Strength, C S Lewis). Having lost our core identity, we often seek to create a sticky-plaster one.

I would ask. . Why would you call that reincarnation? I understand his grace teaches us to say no.

It would seem to set the stage for Zombie movies Hollywood style The night of the living dead .

I get we are living in bodies of death. But they will not be reincarnated bodies. But will be made new not made of the corrupted rudiments' of this dying world . They will be neither male not female Jew nor Gentile.

There will be no procreation or aging .

These teachings are found in Asian religions like Hinduism, Jainism, Buddhism and Sikhism and also in Hasidic Judaism where many Jews even today believe in reincarnation. The Talmud nor the Bible makes any reference to reincarnation, but actually speak against it, Leviticus 20:6; Colossians 2:8. The Kabbalah (Jewish mysticism) teaches a belief in gilgul/hapax legomenon being the transmigration of the souls as the belief is universal in Hasidic Judaism, which regards the Kabbalah as sacred and authoritive. These Jews fell into idolatry worshiping other gods as they did not heed the warning God gave to Solomon found in 1 Kings 9:1-9.

Reincarnation is a philosophical concept of Greek philosophers like Pythagoras, Socrates and Plato and still followed by Hasidic Judaism and the New Age movement that reject the true God of all creation and His Son Christ Jesus. The belief in reincarnation is an ancient phenomenon that is unbiblical and according to scripture is rejected as a false teaching.

(Ref: John 3:12; Romans 8:5-8; Hebrews 9:27; Matthew 25:46; John 5:28, 29; Rev 20:11-15; Genesis 2:7; Genesis 3:19; Ecclesiastes 9:5; 12:7; Matthew 10:28; Psalms 104:29; Daniel 12:2; James 2:26)

There is no logic or a carnal understanding when it comes to the Spiritual things of God as reasoning has to line up with what is already written in the Bible. Either one accepts the Bible as being the word of God in all its parts, or you reject the whole as one can not pick and choose that of what they want to believe in part.

John 3:12 If I have told you earthly things, and ye believe not, how shall ye believe, if I tell you of heavenly things?

Romans 8:5 For they that are after the flesh do mind the things of the flesh; but they that are after the Spirit the things of the Spirit. 6 For to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace. 7 Because the carnal mind is enmity against God: for it is not subject to the law of God, neither indeed can be. 8 So then they that are in the flesh cannot please God.

There is no foundation for the concept of reincarnation found in what has already been written in scripture. In Luke 23:43 Jesus told the criminal that was being crucified beside Him"today you will be with me in paradise", meaning that the criminal believed that this was Christ as He hung on the cross and asked Him to remember him when Jesus comes into His Kingdom.

Hebrews 9:27 And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment:

Matthew 25:46 And these shall go away into everlasting punishment: but the righteous into life eternal.

John 5:28 Marvel not at this: for the hour is coming, in the which all that are in the graves shall hear his voice, 29 And shall come forth; they that have done good, unto the resurrection of life; and they that have done evil, unto the resurrection of damnation.

Rev 20:11 And I saw a great white throne, and him that sat on it, from whose face the earth and the heaven fled away; and there was found no place for them. 12 And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened: and another book was opened, which is the book of life: and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works. 13 And the sea gave up the dead which were in it; and death and hell delivered up the dead which were in them: and they were judged every man according to their works. 14 And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death. 15 And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire.

The belief in reincarnation is an ancient phenomenon that is unbiblical and according to scripture is rejected as a false teaching.

Genesis 2:7 And the LORD God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul.

Here dust + breath/spirit from God = a living soul. When the flesh dies physically it returns back to the dust of the ground and our spirit is preserved with God for final judgment.

Genesis 3:19 in the sweat of thy face shalt thou eat bread, till thou return unto the ground; for out of it wast thou taken: for dust thou art, and unto dust shalt thou return.

Ecc 12:7 then shall the dust return to the earth as it was: and the spirit shall return unto God who gave it.

We return to the dust of the ground when this physical body dies and our breath/spirit returns to God as we wait for Gods final judgment.

Matthew 10:28 And fear not them which kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul: but rather fear him which is able to destroy both soul and body in hell.

Our spirit can never die and is preserved until Gods final judgment on the last day when Christ returns, John 6:40.

Ruach, the Hebrew word for spirit means "breath" or "wind" as well as "spirit".

Ecc 9:5 for the living know that they shall die: but the dead know not any thing, neither have they any more a reward; for the memory of them is forgotten.

Psa 104:29 Thou hidest thy face, they are troubled: thou takest away their breath, they die, and return to their dust.

Dan 12:2 and many of them that sleep in the dust of the earth shall awake, some to everlasting life, and some to shame and everlasting contempt.

James 2:26 for as the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without works is dead also.

This body/flesh dies and deteriorates as it turns back to dust while in the ground. The breath/spirit goes back to God who gave it, Ecc 12:7. The soul which makes up the conscious part of ones being is that of thought, action and emotion. The spiritual nature of man regarded as immortal and separable from the body/flesh at death and susceptible to happiness or misery in a future state.

Amen I would offer. .

God defines death as pertaining to a believer. . one who has eternal life that has passed from death to a new spirit life. . all die not receiving the eternal new body.

One death has a end never to rise returning to dust the other rises anew .

The father kept the body the Son of man, Jesus 3 days and nights from sufferings to the point of no return Literally dead never to rise Jesus is shown sufferings unto death called the pangs of hell ,Yoked with Christ the burden is lighter.

Psalm 16:10 For thou wilt not leave my soul in hell; neither wilt thou suffer thine Holy One to see corruption.(the end (annihilation ) . therefore dead never to rise )

Jesus the Son of man in effect said. . Not as I will the dying one with no power but you the powerful father of all spirit life.

The promised demonstration of two.The bruising the heel crushing the heard of the serpent Genesis 3 and Isaiah 53.

Jesus began sufferings unto death in the garden the first part of the three part demonstration. . the gospel.
Part two the cross the emblem of sufferings and pain and three the tomb the hidden work of faith . When the work was being finished the father removed the graves clothes "the stinky work" and rolled back the stone.

In a simular parable ( John 11) a different teaching subject. . the introduction of a new born agin believer. .
Lazarus was called dead 4 days. . the father working in Lazarus kept his corrupted flesh from corrupting to the point of no return "dead" never to rise.

The wake up call Lazarus "Lazarus rise" there is work to be done. Can't sleep your life away .

Fellow believers were instructed to roll back the stone and perform the stinky job of removing the grave clothes ..

Jesus wept shortest verse.

Because of the parables I would think Jesus was the most misunderstood person that ever walked on earth
Death is a sleep . . all will wake on the last day just as with Lazarus rise .the same. . . Bride. . . rise . . . remove the gospel vail the propmised wedding supper drink in the new wine in the new eternal wine skins .

Four day demonstration with Lazarus knowing beforehand mankind would make three the standard. . a wile of the evil one "obey the letter of the law or die" not for the believers the unseen Holy Spirit a law of faith believe and see.. Believing God is seeing God .who has no form

John 11: 35-41 Jesus wept. Then said the Jews, Behold how he loved him!And some of them said, Could not this man, which opened the eyes of the blind, have caused that even this man should not have died? Jesus therefore again groaning in himself cometh to the grave. It was a cave, and a stone lay upon it. Jesus said, Take ye away the stone. Martha, the sister of him that was dead, saith unto him, Lord, by this time he stinketh: for he hath been dead four days. Jesus saith unto her, Said I not unto thee, that, if thou wouldest believe, thou shouldest see the glory of God? Then they took away the stone from the place where the dead was laid. Sorry . . not my hope to cause as it seems confusion I think defining dead never to rise can be an answer that apposes reincarnation.

Thanks that makes a little more sense than how other people have put it.

I think a lot of people have taken the bible out of context.

Many people seem to be that way today.

I don't always relate to most people around me. I think a lot of people who yell at me about my beliefs have never really read the bible lol

Hey All,
The word "Reincarnation" is never mentioned in Scripture Josh2010.

May God bless,
Taz
I had various belief's which probably were sinful but I have tried to move on from them since I changed my group of friends.

Thanks that makes a little more sense than how other people have put it.

I think a lot of people have taken the bible out of context.
Many do take the Bible out of context by only using one verse to try and prove their point and that is why it is so important to read the full context of what has already been written.

Sorry . . not my hope to cause as it seems confusion I think defining dead never to rise can be an answer that apposes reincarnation.

Is the belief in reincarnation or otherkin really a sin?
History in Jewish thought

The belief in reincarnation first existed among Jewish mystics, despite various explanations for the afterlife, despite the universal belief in an immortal soul. existed in the ancient world.

Today, reincarnation is an esoteric belief in many currents of modern Judaism, but it is not an essential tenet of traditional Judaism. It is not mentioned in traditional classical sources such as the Hebrew Scriptures, classical rabbinic writings (Mishnah and Talmud), Maimonides 13 Principles of Faith.

And if it is not found there-it is not found in Scriptures.

That's all you need to know.
Shalom
Johann.

Is the belief in reincarnation or otherkin really a sin?

I have seen this discussion many times in recent months and it left me puzzled about my identity as a Christian and human being.

I believe we were made in god's image, but then why do so many feel out of place with their humanity?

There is no reincarnation in the eastern, mystical religion sense of the word. I don't know what an "otherkin" is...

As you've noted, you - and all human beings - are made in the image of God, not the image of a cat, or dog, or some weird, chimeric, anime character. The devil, the "god of this world" would have you live in denial of this fact, in corruption of, and rebellion to, how your Creator has made you to be, knowing as he does that such denial leads always to destruction and death. And so, the devil uses secular culture to pressure and manipulate those made in God's image to live as perverse contortions of what God made them to be. Through music, movies, various social trends, and warped philosophies pushed by advertising, news media and pop-culture generally, the devil lures people into investigating and embracing a variety of lies about truth, reality and themselves. As they do, they begin to feel a sense of disjunction, of alienation, that they are encouraged to think is confirmation of their inner "truth" being denied. What this feeling of being "out of place" really is, though, is the natural result of thinking and living in a way contrary to the Truth, to the Ground All Reality, who is God.

Yeah I guess a lot of people have been manipulating us into things that were never true. About a year ago I did believe that I was different inside but I had a lot of problems with friends and family. I don't blame God though for my feelings.

I seeked acceptance in the wrong place/community.

One thing that gets me though is why we are not really able to exist in the image or identity that we want. I am new however to religion and still growing up so over time I will probably feel more comfortable with myself as a Human.

Why do you think you ought to be able to exist in whatever image, or identity, that you like?
