Hi Dave,
One of the issues I raised in the present tongues debate you mention in passing. I highlighted the quote in bold typeface. Each of us has a limit to what we can personally witness firsthand. You could devout your entire life to visiting and witnessing, firshand, meetings where people speak in tongues. Assuming you did this for the next 70 years full time, how much of what is out there would you have seen? It would only be a part, and could never encompass the whole phenomena of speaking in tongues.
You mentioned one instance in your entire life! The point I make is that just one instance of the genuine use of tongues is enough to prevent us from making a universal statement condemning all instances. This may seem trivial to you - but the point is that it would be FALSE to condemn the whole if even one part or instance is TRUE. In fact it gets worse - the universal condemnation would be of the Devil. Like you I have seen, heard and witnessed firsthand that exceptional single prayer this exceeded anything I had ever heard before or since to this day. I may have very well have 'entertained an angel' and not known it.
