What does Isiah 2:2 mean or represent?
Dear Brother Dan, I believe this to be speaking of Jesus' rule from the heavenly Jerusalem during the millennium.

Heb 12:22 But ye are come unto mount Sion (Zion in Hebrew), and unto the city of the living God, the heavenly Jerusalem, and to an innumerable company of angels,

Isa 2:2 And it shall come to pass in the last days, that the mountain of the LORD'S house shall be established in the top of the mountains, and shall be exalted above the hills; and all nations shall flow unto it.

Isa 2:3 And many people shall go and say, Come ye, and let us go up to the mountain of the LORD, to the house of the God of Jacob; and he will teach us of his ways, and we will walk in his paths: for out of Zion shall go forth the law, and the word of the LORD from Jerusalem.

Heb 12:22 But ye are come unto mount Sion (Zion in Hebrew), and unto the city of the living God, the heavenly Jerusalem, and to an innumerable company of angels,
and i will disagree a bit with our good Brother Eugene.
Notice the tense are come.

I guess above the hills means higher than the earth as Jesus was raised up higher.

Dan,
Though many, even some here, rebuke me, there is the wisdom of the Most Holy in what I term to be the first rule of Hermeneutics: No scripture, group of scriptures, collection of scriptures nor any passage of scripture can ever be fully understood without the light of all scripture shining on it/them. Second, only to the first rule is context, context and context.

When I backed up and read the first chapter, it sets the subject matter to Jerusalem, oft spoken of as going up to in scripture. Ezekiel 43:1-4 Here we find Jesus entering Jerusalem, on His Second Coming. This prophecy is so troubling to the Muslim as to cause them to block the East Gate with their version of concrete from the day they last held complete control over the Holy City. Jesus will rule from there for a thousand years and, please, do not allow any to focus your studies on any single verse.

God bless and godly growth, brother.

I agree with everything you stated except for your last phrase and conclusion.

"No scripture, group of scriptures, collection of scriptures nor any passage of scripture can ever be fully understood" without the Light that cometh from God Himself shine upon it. But the Light of the Lord is not found in the scriptures. The Light of the Lord is found shining within our hearts as the Spirit of the Lord who dwells within us begins to reveals unto us the Glory of the Lord as it fills His Holy temple.

When it comes to the light of the sun or the light of the moon, you have chosen the lesser light to reveal the understanding that can only come from the Lord Himself. I would not glory in the lesser light, for its light is but a reflection of the greater.

God works in mysterious ways, and it is through FAITH that the Lord chose to reveal His Righteousness and His Glory; But Faith has a catch to it as well. You see, first you must believe a thing to be true before your eyes will be opened to reveal to the understanding and the simplicity found in the scripture.

A kingdom, authority or rule - see also Psalm 30:7; Daniel 44, 45; Revelation 17:9-11

A mountain or mountains can be symbolic of a "Way" as well as a person leading or representing that way...to me all the mountains are the worlds religious systems and this one is the Kingdom of God on earth ruled by Christ....

The context makes this quite clear that it is a prophecy concerning the Millennial Kingdom (and beyond) and is a reference to Jerusalem on earth when Israel has been redeemed and restored. There are no hills and mountains in Heaven, but there are hills and mountains in Judah, and Jerusalem itself is on Mount Zion.

The reference to ploughshares and pruning hooks further confirms that when Christ establishes His Kingdom on earth, there will be universal righteousness, peace, and prosperity, and all nations on the earth will come to Jerusalem to worship ("all nations shall flow into it").

Heavenly Jerusalem (or the New Jerusalem) will hover over the earth at this time, since it descends out of Heaven (Rev 21:10) to give light to the earth (Rev 21:22-24).

This is quite incorrect, but since it is also off topic, we will leave it at that. There are numerous references to the glory of the Lord as well as God and Christ radiating uncreated light.

I find that to be one of the saddest statements I have ever heard EZ. On that very basis, where one's thoughts supersedes what God has had recorded for our edification and that we will have His Standard, again, on that very basis, bolded and highlighted by me, David Koresh, Jones of Jonestown, the idiots seeking to land themselves on the space Ship behind that asteroid, founded their stupid ideas. Had any one of their followers read the scriptures, prayed for discernment and followed God, there would have been one less dead and gone to Hell, most likely.

Do you have any biblical basis for this claim?
edit: EZ, this is in the Bible study forum and you presenting an argument, left for contention, as you did, without scriopture is forbidden, please don't, intentionally, get this string closed.

I'm sorry, but I believe that you have the guidelines for this Bible Study forum confused with the Apologetics and Theology forum. The guidelines to this forum make no such claim.

Guidelines

1. Scripture is the basis of study. Stay close to the text.
2. Keep your post to a manageable length where others can respond to a section of scripture as opposed to an entire article.
3. We encourage your understanding of a text. If you wish to post snipits from a website, please make sure it accompanies your comments of the text. Excessive copy / paste from web sites are frowned upon.
4. If you disagree with an interpretation of scripture, think out your response according to the specific text and post accordingly.
5. No debating doctrines or denominational differences. (E.G. TULIP, OSAS, Purgatory, Papacy etc)

I am not debating nor am I presenting any of these doctrines that are "forbiden", for these are all doctrines of men. You spend your time debating the doctrines of men and then judging for yourself their validity in the face of the knowledge that you hold by the lesser light. The Bible is not that light, the Bible promises the coming of that light, but it is not the Light. Why to you choose the lesser light?

As to a biblical basis for my claim? Perhaps in a different tone so to speak; I am quite surprised that your not already familiar with them. If I were to just give you the scripture passages, what would you do with them? If you do not believe the words that I speak, why would you believe the scriptures that confirm my faith?

Now it's an argument and moved to PM.

We are welcome to our opinions.. I am of the opinion it has a lot of bearing on the subject of this thread... With out differing opinions forums would be boring..

1 The word that Isaiah the son of Amoz saw concerning Judah and Jerusalem.

I find it concerns Judah and Jerusalem

2 And it shall come to pass in the last days, that the mountain of Yehovah's house shall be established on the top of the mountains, and shall be exalted above the hills; and all nations shall flow to it.

Mountains are sometimes synonymous with the authority of kings. In this case Yehovah's house will be higher than all other mountains (authority)

3 And many people shall go and say, Come, and let us go up to the mountain of Yehovah, to the house of the God of Jacob; and he will teach us of his ways, and we will walk in his paths; for from Zion shall go forth Torah, and the word of Yehovah from Jerusalem.

Many will see this authority and go to that mountain with the intention to learn to walk in His ways. Those ways are Torah which so many have forsaken or have never known. It will go forth from Zion.

4 And he shall judge among the nations, and shall decide for many people; and they shall beat their swords into plowshares, and their spears into pruning hooks; nation shall not lift up sword against nation, nor shall they learn war any more.

5 O house of Jacob, come, and let us walk in the light of Yehovah.

Torah is that light.

just my 0.2 cents
