Dear Brother Dan, I believe this to be speaking of Jesus' rule from the heavenly Jerusalem during the millennium. What does Isiah 2:2 mean or represent?
No scripture, group of scriptures, collection of scriptures nor any passage of scripture can ever be fully understood without the light of all scripture shining on it/them.
The context makes this quite clear that it is a prophecy concerning the Millennial Kingdom (and beyond) and is a reference to Jerusalem on earth when Israel has been redeemed and restored. There are no hills and mountains in Heaven, but there are hills and mountains in Judah, and Jerusalem itself is on Mount Zion. What does Isiah 2:2 mean or represent?
This is quite incorrect, but since it is also off topic, we will leave it at that. There are numerous references to the glory of the Lord as well as God and Christ radiating uncreated light. But the Light of the Lord is not found in the scriptures.
I find that to be one of the saddest statements I have ever heard EZ. On that very basis, where one's thoughts supersedes what God has had recorded for our edification and that we will have His Standard, again, on that very basis, bolded and highlighted by me, David Koresh, Jones of Jonestown, the idiots seeking to land themselves on the space Ship behind that asteroid, founded their stupid ideas. Had any one of their followers read the scriptures, prayed for discernment and followed God, there would have been one less dead and gone to Hell, most likely."No scripture, group of scriptures, collection of scriptures nor any passage of scripture can ever be fully understood" without the Light that cometh from God Himself shine upon it. But the Light of the Lord is not found in the scriptures. The Light of the Lord is found shining within our hearts
edit: EZ, this is in the Bible study forum and you presenting an argument, left for contention, as you did, without scriopture is forbidden, please don't, intentionally, get this string closed.
Guidelines
1. Scripture is the basis of study. Stay close to the text.
2. Keep your post to a manageable length where others can respond to a section of scripture as opposed to an entire article.
3. We encourage your understanding of a text. If you wish to post snipits from a website, please make sure it accompanies your comments of the text. Excessive copy / paste from web sites are frowned upon.
4. If you disagree with an interpretation of scripture, think out your response according to the specific text and post accordingly.
5. No debating doctrines or denominational differences. (E.G. TULIP, OSAS, Purgatory, Papacy etc)
Now it's an argument and moved to PM.I'm sorry, but I believe that you have the guidelines for this Bible Study forum confused with the Apologetics and Theology forum. The guidelines to this forum make no such claim.
I am not debating nor am I presenting any of these doctrines that are "forbiden", for these are all doctrines of men. You spend your time debating the doctrines of men and then judging for yourself their validity in the face of the knowledge that you hold by the lesser light. The Bible is not that light, the Bible promises the coming of that light, but it is not the Light. Why to you choose the lesser light?
As to a biblical basis for my claim? Perhaps in a different tone so to speak; I am quite surprised that your not already familiar with them. If I were to just give you the scripture passages, what would you do with them? If you do not believe the words that I speak, why would you believe the scriptures that confirm my faith?
Reba,Heb 11:10 For he looked for a city which hath foundations, whose builder and maker is God.
