Isreal Conflict

What does that say for all of the Christians in the world who have not stood up to the war going Christians of our day?

How many 'Christians' have killed other 'Christians' in wars just during the last 100 years?

Please TOG I believe your the one suggesting people should be killed not me.

I don't think it's a ridiculous comparison at all.

These traffic statistics point out our inconsistency over the reaction to deaths and how we accept some without even questioning and others we totally dramatize. We need to ask our selves deeper questions as to why that is?

Here is a stat from the UN

1) Deaths from the Israeli-Palestinian Conflict

Of those killed in the conflict, 4,228 have been Palestinians, 1,024 Israelis, and 63 foreign citizens. For every person killed, approximately seven were also injured. 3/

You didn't answer my question. You compared the number of deaths in Israel from terrorist rockets to the deaths from traffic accidents, and suggested that since they bomb someone for such a small number, they should logically bomb the car makers as well. I showed that the same comparison can be made in the US. The number of deaths from traffic accidents is 14 times the number of deaths from terrorist attacks. Since the US attacked Iraq because of relatively few deaths, they should, according to your logic, also attack someone for the traffic accidents. Whom should they attack and how many should they kill. It's your comparison. Let's take it to it's logical conclusion.

And I did not suggest that anybody should be killed. I only suggested that Israel has a right to protect herself from terrorist attacks. You are the one that is suggesting that killing should be answered with more killing. That's the very basis of your comparison. You're saying that since the deaths from terrorist attacks are met with killing, then the deaths from traffic accidents should also be met with more killing.

War is not something that is unbiblical. Just look at the many examples in the Bible when God called for war when it was necessary. I think protecting ones nation from terrorist would qualify for that.

Before I say anything more I just want to ask is everyone so far who is sharing on this topic Christian, or are there other faiths also?

I don't believe Christians are being faithful if they turn to war or support war.

Matthew 5:44 NAS
"But I say to you, love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you,

Matthew 10:23 NAS
"But whenever they persecute you in one city, flee to the next ; for truly I say to you, you will not finish going through the cities of Israel until the Son of Man comes.

Would you protect your personal self or loved one from a beating ?

I'm not an extreme pacifist, I see a very big difference between clearly knowing who is attacking and defending yourself on a personal level. This is a criminal act but a military strike against a whole people who also most likely are victims living in a trapped situation is not self defense. What I see happening with war is revengeful and often is serving some other interest for power over some kind of resource. Under the old law the avenger of blood could only seek justice again the person who caused the injury.

That is between your conscience and God, I do not trust the gov'ts of today to be righteous.

We really are on a different page dear, no one should be attacked and killed. That's the point I'm making.

digging... Ok you would protect your person how about your neighbour? how about your town?
I do not hold Israel in Biblical esteem.... As a citizen of the USA i know we have treaties We should be keeping our word to Israel.... as far as them firing on civilians the hamas pigs put the heavy guns in hospitals and homes.... . it is not Israelis who strap bombs to their children it is the islamist ... The western world i hope wakes up to accept you can appease a terrorist.

I think we all agree that no one should be killed and ideally that doesn't happen.
What I see is that when Israel broadcasts exactly where they are going to bomb they not only are giving the innocent the chance to save their lives but the terrorists themselves are warned so they can save their own lives. So I see that the intent is to destroy the weaponry that is being used against them, not to take anyone's life. It is a means to protect their innocent from rocket attacks. Rather like removing the rocks from your neighbor's yard because their kids won't stop throwing stones at your kids.

Sometimes I have a hard time to clearly see what the difference is between a suicide boomer and a trained young solder, they both are equipped with deathly tools and often die themselves.....

I don't believe the situations that lead people to such extreme actions and warring can be so simply reduced. These events are results from years and years and centuries of human actions and bad choices that had now created these terrible tensions. There is no good out come from hate and war.

Galatians 6:7 NAS
Do not be deceived, God is not mocked ; for whatever a man sows, this he will also reap.

These problems have been pasted through many generations.

I don't think a young soldier is told that if he dies he will go to heaven and have a harem of women at his beck and call.
Maybe some people should check out the sexual teachings of Mohammed which terrorists use to brainwash young boys and men into doing what they do. They are promised eternal bless of the flesh kind.

This is true, he who lives by the sword shall die by the sword. We choose our sword.
But that has nothing to do with protecting ourselves from those who do us harm.
You say you would protect yourself but that a government should not protect those who cannot protect themselves against violence.
So if I were your neighbor and I was being violently attacked I would not be able to count on you to call the police to help me because they have weapons and they may need to use them against my attacker and that attacker may be killed?
Not everything in this world is black and white, it is more complicated than some want to believe.

This situation is not about two equal powers arguing. An entire nation of people have been displaced in a very short time from a place they had been living in for over two thousand years.

I find it very interesting how the word 'terrorist' is used so freely here and how this words seems to just make violent retaliation ok?

War has been fed to our minds for many generations. Perhaps you missed my earlier comment I see a very strong difference between local crime where the attacker is clearly known.

War is not about that. When nations attack other people with booms because of the action of a few within that is simply revenge not justice.

Why are we so willing to let go of our Christianity? How many faithful of old had to leave everything and live homeless, Jesus himself said he had no place to lay his head.

At what point in time will Christians of today turn away for such things? How far are we willing to go to support real peace? What did Jesus say about Lot's wife???

Deborah different nations have just used different stories to the same end. How many or us have seen the photos of Priests blessing solders? I believe many soldier are said to be in heaven to.

There are far greater reasons this is happening, 100's of millions of people are living in desperate hopelessness when this happen it brings out a force within people that is oddly the equal opposite of the powerful weapons of war.....

I hope i never turn away from protecting the undog... Hamas was given the bank and now they throw rockets at the giver,,,

There are a lot of people around the world that live off the benefits of war.

terrorists don't wear signs nor uniforms. and well why did the kings have armies then? now then, if isreal is wrong then why do they warn the enemy prior to an attack and build shelters and also send civilians there for their protection, all the while the pa gov says despite what isreal says they aren't coming in to attack that home. yet many arabs have left their homes and went to the un shelters. is isreal killing them?
