Jehovah's Witness

Noc, I thought that JW's denied the 'diety' of Jesus. They do so by opting that Jesus IS the Son of God, NOT God Himself.

You are right imagican,

They just don't believe the trinity like most of the churchgoers do.

Do you think that JW's are Christian? Why or why not?

I believe they are Christians. But according to many chruches they are not. I just wanted to know if they are worth looking into. You sound so hostile; why?

All I want to know is JW. Why are you getting so upset?

All I want to know is why they are called cult by many churches.
I am not upset nor hostile, I am simply trying to get a straight answer from you and now you are doing the same with NPX.

The problem is that you and Imagican lack the truth necessary to be able to determine what is truth and what is not. In believing JWs are Christian you open wide the door for all sorts of heretical nonsense about who Christ is. You are quick to point out to the rest of us that our way is broad, all the while ignoring that compared with yours it is but a pencil line.

Your beliefs open up the door to all sorts of groups such as JWs, Mormons, "New Agers," etc., who, although they all have contradictory views of Christ's nautre, salvation, and God, are all saved. You and Imagican seem to be the only ones with the truth and the entirety of Christendom is wrong and has been wrong for hundreds of years. It is no suprise that both of you have such errant beliefs and reject the Church and it's teachings.

Free, I am sorry you are so upset.

I cannot help you, maybe imagican take over after me. I am only trying to get imformation about JWs and if you dont want to perticipate; I am not forcing you. Good day.
Go after imagican now. I will not engage in a fight. Fighting and arguing is not my intention believe it or not.

Actually read the Bible, Jesus is God. I'm not sure if you believe Jesus is God or not. From your response I gather that you don't.

God, have mercy on us.

they are nice people. i got nothing. as people, they are generally good folk. as teachers, they teach heretical (by Catholic standard) doctrine. I am friends with JWs. we learn a bit from one another. but we each have to be careful or someone is gonna get converted.

As I stated earlier I am not upset, nor am I looking for a fight. You are posting in the Apologetics forum and if you are not willing to debate perhaps you should post your questions and ideas somewhere else.

To me it is very disturbing and actually quite scary that someone who professes to follow Christ would think that JWs are Christian, yet not really know what they believe.

belovedwolfofgod,

I agree that they are nice people and so are Mormons. If only Christians actually witnessed as much as they. And they certainly are sincere about what they believe. However, and I'm sure you'll agree, sincerity is no way to determine the truth of a matter.

There are thousands of denominations and many of you are treating JW with hostility.

So far, no one has pointed out their immoral practices in the past or present.

They are not immoral compared to the world, in fact, most JW and Mormons I have known are kind friendly people.
Their doctrines, however, do not conform to what most Christians believe: That Jesus is Son of God, they do not believe that. That Jesus rose in the flesh, JW do not believe that.
Mormons believe that each of us is going to inherit a world as a god and goddess and give birth to spirit babies for eternity.
JW believe that Jesus is Michael the Archangel (which I already pointed out in this thread).
Those beliefs and others are not scriptual.
I hope that is the answer you are looking for, gingercat.

What their members have done or not done is not the issue of our hostility... at least not of mine. Free put it out there that sincerity isnt the best measure of the truth.

I have never found any weird JW things that their members have done. Lexis-Nexis shows nothing conclusive... (its a newspaper article website my school is part of).

They are just in heresy. People who are in heresy are often nice people. Others are not. As for you OP, I think we'll have trouble finding something that they do... they havent been around that long (a little over 100 years), and their membership is pretty small. They just dont cause any trouble.

Once you go Vatican, you dont go back again!

"Saved" as a Baptist. Born again as a Catholic. And only through the mercy of God.

i'll miss you allie...

belovedwolfofgod,

I listened to a mass on Easter this weekend on my Sirius satelite radio and I have to admit that it was very good!

I am intersted in how your converted from baptist to RCC?

God Bless......

Its actually a somewhat interesting story. I'll PM you tomorrow (4/17). If I dont, PM me to remind me. Im off to bed at the moment, or I would do it now.
