non-believers who do not know God or nor understand the bible should not try to write or produce shows for christians - they should stick to what they knowI just turned off that pitiful excuse for a "remake" after watching all I could stomach.

amenAlthough I agree that both shows aren't really a hundred percent biblical, I personally really liked the music in the original. The new one just flopped like a fish. At least, that's my opinion.
i think his name was lefevre or something and he had a christian show on tbn i think - the christians were really thrilled at his outstanding conversion - he really went all out for JesusReally? I was under the impression that he had been a Christian before. Anyway, I absolutely love his singing voice and the Superstar theme is SO catchy that I've played it thousands of times and it just never gets old. Were there flaws in it? Yes, there were. But it was still a good show and they completely ruined it tonight which is why I had to watch the original afterwards.

yes - and i think their eyes are blind to the truth also - i know after meeting Jesus my life and perspective changed dramatically - everything looks different when you know GodBut the world likes to twist the truth.
o - ok - then it must have been the broadway play version that lefevre was inOh really? Are you speaking about the original one on Broadway? Because I'm speaking of the one from the seventies. Ted Neeley played Jesus in that one.

o wow - glad i didn't see itI'm getting a chuckle out of this. I have no idea if the writers and or producers knew the Gospel, I can't tell. What I AM sure about is the "melodies" contain passages of intervals that are hideously difficult to sing; it's like they'd been reading my etude books for trumpet, lol. The cast nailed their part in the movie, but how many times did they have to try it? If they didn't change anything for the live show I'm sure there were some really BAD nights, lol. Sometimes you have to do 4 shows in 3 days, that would be really rough as so many songs are very demanding.
I haven't seen this new one nor do I want to as I feel this one is a mockery to Christ to make monetary gain for such a spectacle these type of musicals display especially when so many are unbiblical in it's portrayal of Christ and no one is a Christian to begin with, but what can you expect. I saw the original one back in the 70's with Jeff Fenholt (from Black Sabbath Band) who played Jesus and many years later is now a Christian that I met many years later and bought his book "From Darkness to Light". I would say it had an effect on me at that time being so young and not having much knowledge and one of the Churches had Christian counselors set up in the hall of the theater that gave out little Bibles and were ready to help lead you to Christ if you wanted to do so. The 70's one was more realistic than this new one.
You and me both. I almost threw up when Cooper walked over to the edge of the stage to let the audience kiss his hand.I actually do really like the original one, but yeah, this new one was unfortunately a mockery to Christ. I couldn't stand it! They couldn't even sing like the original actors could! I honestly wish that I had never seen it.

For those of you who never saw it.....
