Judaism or Christianity?

This is sad.

Judaism is certainly not an expression of the Covenant God established with the children of Israel.


Judaism is a man made religion, consisting of the traditions (teachings) of man, mixed with the law of Moses.


The Lord established a covenant with Abraham.

To that covenant, the Lord added the law of Moses, temporarily, until the Seed (the same Lord) should come. The covenant with Abraham became the New (Refreshed) Covenant, as the law was removed.


What purpose then does the law serve? It was added because of transgressions, till the Seed should come to whom the promise was made; and it was appointed through angels by the hand of a mediator. Galatians 3:19



Judaism is to the law of Moses, as Catholicism is to the New Covenant.

A false man made religion.


We as Christians are now grafted into the commonwealth of Israel.


Not national Israel, but the Israel of God.


Jesus is the true Israel of God.


Jesus Christ is Lord; YHWH

Hi, and appreciate your reply, comments and your labor of love in Christ on this site! Though we disagree here I don't think it's necessary to debate Judaism concerning any issue due to the amount of truth concerning it. I wouldn't know where to begin to debate it, other than it's not parallel to Christianity and any from, nor was it ever intended to be.

We agree.

It should be understood through sound teaching that Gentiles are grafted into the Commonwealth of Israel, and that the Church doesn’t replace Israel, but rather the Church is the true Israel of God, because we are joined to Christ.


Much can be learned and understood about this subject through fruitful discussion, as some have promoted the idea of replacement theology, which is simply another doctrine of man.

In that they were cut off and cast adrift a long time ago. They do not know God. They rule by their own authority. Jesus is the heir and what He inherited is not limited to Israel. As Jesus stated in Rev that those who overcome will rule the nations with Him.

To the one who is victorious and does my will to the end, I will give authority over the nations— that one ‘will rule them with an iron scepter and will dash them to pieces like pottery’ —just as I have received authority from my Father. I will also give that one the morning star. Whoever has ears, let them hear what the Spirit says to the churches.

I'm not sure if I understand the topic of this thread, but seeing as how this is CHRISTIAN forums, this would seem to be the place for those who choose Jesus. I must be missing something?

I'm still trying to fit in. I'll go ahead and go OT, because you asked....

I'm actually interested in discussing Christian chat boards. It looks like this board has had some history to it, and we need to shy away from hot button topics. It seems on the internet, a lot of people log on looking for a fight. I'll admit, I've felt that way before--although in my own mind, I don't think it's so much looking for a fight as it is looking to be heard.

Sometimes I'll log on looking for connections. You know, it's Saturday night, and I ain't got nobody.... And the minute I log on, I get attacked; sometimes by somebody I've never even met. And I'll log on to the Yahoo Christian boards, unmoderated, and they are all hijacked by non-Christians either wanting to troll or to debate whether God even exists. Clearly, I did not get what I was seeking. And I'm sure your staff's vision had something similar in mind: to make Christian connections--not to provide a venue for people who want a boxing ring.

The fighting part of me wants to say that the Old Testament is largely preterist. That impacts more than just end times--that's a theology. That is to say, a lot of people, when they get these grand ideas about "this or that will happen to Israel in the end times" based on something in the Old Testament, they fail to realize that a lot of the OT was written before Israel's restoration--in 515bc. So if Jeremiah or Ezekiel say Israel will be restored and it was, there is no need for that prophecy to be fulfilled again, a second time. It already happened. The post-restoration prophets write prophecies which point largely to Jesus. Even Ezekiel's "latter days"--that's the New Covenant.

So I tend to go futurist only if:
A) the prophecy is in the New Testament
B) the prophet is post-restoration and you can prove it has nothing to do with Jesus' first coming, or...
C) You can prove it was indeed a prophecy AND it wasn't fulfilled yet.

I know of nothing that fits in B. Only Zechariah do I have a hard time proving it does not fit in C.

This is where I think a lot of people get not just End Times wrong, but theology. And we must not ever let our own preconceived notions of the future end times override what we already know to be true of our own basic Christian walk. Such as Micah 6:8--which yes, that is Old Testament:

"He has shown thee, Oh man, what is good and what is right for thee. But to act justly, and to love mercy, and to walk humbly with our God."

So if you show favoritism because you believe someone to be Jewish, and you discriminate against Gentiles, you are not acting justly. Even the OT does not allow that.

How can anyone in this day and age know with any degree of certainty that they are a direct descendant of Jacob? What one can know with certainty is if they belong to Jesus.

As Jesus explained to Nicodemus in order to enter the Kingdom of "God" you must be born of the Spirit. The Spirit Jesus sends in His name.

As I stated before I state again. Man calls themselves many things. Its a good thing then that God states who are His children.

Israel lost her right to be called Gods chosen people, (God did save a faithful remnant), as they fell into idolatry worshiping other gods as they allowed themselves to fall from Gods grace as they followed the lust of their own hearts as they practiced Judaism, 1 Kings 9:1-9. God’s judgment against them led them to be captured, 605 – 537 B.C., by Nebuchadnezzar and taken into Babylon for seventy years while Nebuchadnezzar’s army killed many Jews in Judah and Jerusalem destroying the whole city of Jerusalem including the first Temple that was built through King Solomon’s reign in Jerusalem.

The second Temple was built under Ezra’s leadership and Israel continued practicing Judaism and their Temple was desecrated as part of an effort to impose Greek-oriented culture and customs on the entire population. Roman rule refurbished the temple as Herod, Romans vassal king, rules the land of Israel. In 70 A.D. the Temple is once again destroyed. The Temple Mount was taken over in 691 A.D. as the Arab nation built the Dome of the Rock and there has not been any other Temple built since that time on the original Temple Mount.

God gave Israel 490 years to repent. They were set free from Babylon when the Medes and Persian conquered Babylon (Chaldeans) around 538 B.C. They were allowed back in the land and to rebuild the city of Jerusalem, however, they still did not repent for their sin of idol worshiping and they continued to receive punishment from God as the kingdom was taken away and eventually taken over by the Roman Empire. Malachi Chapter 1-4.

The 490 years were up and many of the Jews not only did not repent but they killed the very Messiah they had been waiting for as well as in 24 A.D. they made an opened display of rejecting the Gospel message as they stoned Stephen being the final messenger that was sent to give them their last chance to repent. The Jews were now rejected as God’s chosen people and were no different from the Gentiles as from that time forth each individual, Jew and Gentile has to make their own decision to accept or reject Jesus as Lord and Savior, John 3:3-7; Romans 10:9, 10.

The disciples were called first to preach to the Jews, Matthew 10:6, and Paul was called to preach to the Gentiles, Acts 22:21. God has saved a remnant out of the twelve tribes of Israel even up to a thousand generations that have always been faithful to Him, Exodus 20:1-6; Psalms 105:7, 8, but those who have yet to accept Jesus as Messiah God will continue to cut them off.
