Just some Gospel Truth! (for the 7th Day Sabbath)

I am getting sick and tired of this "Christian" board. (It's not just YOU, Elijah...) The way you talked to Sparrow was disappointing to say the least.

Thanks for the defense guys but I have a defender and Him who defends me --loves our Elijah! Did you notice the quote within his statement to me? I did. It was from Jude. Now Jude, I imagine, is one of those fellows who can be readily misunderstood. Such a little book, that one. But he remembered his salutation and his blessing and our friend and fellow member here chose to quote this to me. Did you see it?

Jude.1
[1] Jude, the servant of Jesus Christ, and brother of James, to them that are sanctified by God the Father, and preserved in Jesus Christ, and called:
[2] Mercy unto you, and peace, and love, be multiplied.

I did. I saw and heard what Elijah674 said to me. I did. I want to echo that to everybody here.

Mercy unto you, and peace, and love, be multiplied. You are the salt of the earth. We are. What happens when the salt becomes tasteless? I'm not exactly sure but I know it isn't something that I desire for any one of you! Not one bit. How does salt become tasteless? I've got a clue. Found it the other day, brought to you today, no extra charge!

Colossians 4:6 Let your speech be always with grace, seasoned with salt, that ye may know how ye ought to answer every man. (KJV Bible)

OK: Back to the posted material. These have been given 'many' a thought!

Matt. 5

[17] Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfil.

Matt. 5

[18] For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled.
[19] Whosoever therefore shall break one of these least commandments, and shall teach men so, he shall be called the least in the kingdom of heaven: but whosoever shall do and teach them, the same shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven.

Mark 2

[27] And he said unto them, The sabbath was made for man, and not man for the sabbath:

Luke 23:54-56

[54] And that day was the preparation, and the sabbath drew on.
[55] And the women also, which came with him from Galilee, followed after, and beheld the sepulchre, and how his body was laid.
[56] And they returned, and prepared spices and ointments; and rested the sabbath day according to the commandment.

And surely the Lord would have told his Mother that it was laid aside if it were so!

Is that some sarcasm from Sparrowhawke? ;)

But a 'sincere' welcome back! We are to contend for our 'FAITH'.

Not so fast.

I am getting sick and tired of this "Christian" board. (It's not just YOU, Elijah...) The way you talked to Sparrow was disappointing to say the least.
He was gracious and understanding - not trying to offend at all - and read how you responded to him.

Are we brothers in the Lord or not? Is what I read on this board an example of how we will speak to one another in the Lord's presence? I think NOT.

We all will account for our words one day. I believe that we had better remember that today.

Religion makes a lot of people crazy. I've seen some of the weirdest stuff in the church.

I want my adult kids to be saved one day but I'm afraid for the kind of church they'll end up in if/when they do. Lot's of 'religion', but not much character. Lot's of opinions, but not much truth.

If only we could wake up and see what a joke we look like to the world. And we want them to get saved and be like us? My kids are smarter than that.

The frustration in my heart about this is greater than I can express. I'm thoroughly tired of people misrepresenting Christianity. You can only excuse it as growing and maturing in Christ to a point.

Well the post is post 53. With the Jude remarks. It is there in plain sight & has all three verses seen saying...

Jude.1
[1] Jude, the servant of Jesus Christ, and brother of James, to them that are sanctified by God the Father, and preserved in Jesus Christ, and called:
[2] Mercy unto you, and peace, and love, be multiplied.

[3] Beloved, when I gave all diligence to write unto you of the common salvation, it was needful for me to write unto you, and exhort you that ye should earnestly contend for the faith which was once delivered unto the saints.

Now do you believe that this is how the Lord works leaving the third verse out of the post?? To me it reminds me of one doing the 2 Cor. 4:2 thing??
[2] But have renounced the hidden things of dishonesty, [not walking in craftiness,] nor handling the word of God deceitfully; but by manifestation of the truth commending ourselves to every man's conscience in the sight of God.

This thread gets my vote for staying closed..... Why should a mods spend time reading and deleting the same things over and over.

The simple rules for Ye Ol A & T

This section deals with the study and practice of Theology and Apologetics. When posting or answering post in this section, users are asked to state clearly what the theological subject is, and why it is true or not true. Questions can be asked regarding the theology or the apologetic defense for the theology.

Are we not grown up enough, are we not secure in our beliefs, to allow opposing views ?.. To treat our Brothers and Sisters in the Lord with respect even if we don't see eye to eye. This scripture is standing out in my head/heart at the moment

Luk 6:42 Either how canst thou say to thy brother, Brother, let me pull out the mote that is in thine eye, when thou thyself beholdest not the beam that is in thine own eye? Thou hypocrite, cast out first the beam out of thine own eye, and then shalt thou see clearly to pull out the mote that is in thy brother's eye.
