Manipulating Symbols

You should know that the Jesus Fish is no differnt, it comes from the Vesica Piscis as does the Pentagram. There are no christians symbols out there that isn't tied to the occult.

Disagree.

The cross and the fish, are both fine. It's the devil worshippers who attach themselves to things originally intended for Christians. Not vice versa.

The cross itself was originally a Pagan symbol.
he is correct as that was used by the babylonians for human sacrifice and the romans used it for execution/torture.

we took it to remind us of the nature of the death of christ!

I have always kind of liked the triquetra and other Celtic symbols but I never purchased or wore it, because of the original pagan meanings and because I think one shouldn't wear symbols they don't fully understand and identify with.
And crosses... I don't like that a cross became a symbol a Christianity [but that was only in the 4th century or later? I am not sure]. As persons who revere Jesus, I don't believe he's happy of us using a symbol of his suffering and death. We believe that it brought us salvation, but still, it represents suffering and death and that's not constructive symbolics at all. To believe in salvation in Christ, we don't have to use/wear a symbol that represents how he was murdered. Besides, what is more important, is that Christ was resurrected and is still alive! That's how I feel about this.

your avatar is rather interesting

salvation isnt based one wearing a cross, but its important to know that the bible wasn't translated wrong as the jw beleive, and since you brought that up

that comment you made, are you a jw. that is the classic line they use for the defense of why christians shouldnt wear a cross.

If that was meant for me, no, not a JW. These are just my personal reasons why I don't like the symbol.

Again the Romans stole it from the Eygptians thats why they call Eygpt ancient LOL Roman catholic church stole alot from Eygpt symbols and religion for there is nothing original about the catholic church just about all there symbols and religious artifacts are plagarised if not all.

The Bible has many translations passed on from different ages. As time passed on different dialects came about therefore giving us different interpretations except for maybe the Torah which is straight Hebrew. Even if it means one word is different it can transform a whole passage and alot of words in some languages had more than one meaning not to mention the different versions there are. Neither is the bible in chronological order Genesis is not the first Book of the Torah and Matthew is not the first Gospel. Besides this no one really knows the essence of what Prophet, Apistle, Gospel etc were really trying to convey because of this reason so christians believe that God talks through his written word and it becomes clear therefore translations become meaningless in effect I guess because nothing can stop God from delivering his message.

actually by tradition genesis, genesis maynt be written by moses the before the writing of exodus but the name means in hebrew the beginning of it all.

the start of exodus is a rehash of the life of joseph and then unto the time right before the deliverance of God's people.

the babylonians used the crucifix for human sacrifice(the cross as a method torture was taken from this idea and the babylonians did this upside down) the ankh is a symbol only and not the means by which christ died.

christ died on the cross not the ankh! the ankh is used for the worship of ra and on and osirus.

No doubt I agree with you. Just pointing out that the symbols the original church used were plagarised and none of it is original= Eygpt and other pagan religions well before christianity became an organised religon but then again most religions or philosophys work like this they steal bits from other sources and form a new one with new ideologys and trappings.

no, we didnt steal that from the others, the cross was used for the death of lord and we use the cross to mean something totaly different then what the others say. the ankh to the ancient egyptian is the giver and keeper of life if i recall. the cross is nothing but a reminder of what the lord did. and it by itself has no such power.

In short the Eygptian cross is a symbol for eternal life sound familiar.

it reminds us of what the lord had to endure for our sins.

that we are so wicked it cost a man his life to save us. and that the lord in heaven set him to die and suffer horribly.

i dont have to wear a cross to think of it , in fact i dont.

Why are we so wicked? Do you really think you are a wicked person? I dont think Im a wicked person and Im responsible for my own actions not someone else. If I do something wicked it comes from me therefore I take full responsibility for it Satan didint do it and God doesnt take the punishment for me its mine to take otherwise I would view myself as weak. And if it was Gods plan in the first place why are you to blame?
