Mary, the mother of the Lord

Scripture opposes natural works, works of the law, dead works done apart from Christ and devoid of grace!

Not faith and works united to Christ in grace! Jn 15:4-5
In Christ and his grace “we bear fruit” apart from Him you can perform the works but they are dead. You can do nothing bearing fruit “merit” before God

Thks

Works are commanded by Christ and necessary to avoid sin
Fallen human nature needs God’s help and grace

Matthew 26:41
Watch and pray, that ye enter not into temptation: (commit sin) the spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak.
You are wrong.

Scripture opposes "ALL" works my friend.

Then why does the savior say; quote “watch and pray”?
Matt 26:41

Why does scripture say; quote “add to your faith”? 2 pet 1:5-7

Add works?

Is suffering works?

No.

Suffering is a tool God uses to get our attention and to accomplish His purposes in our lives. It is designed to build our trust in the Almighty, but suffering requires the right response if it is to be successful in accomplishing God’s purposes. Suffering forces us to turn from trust in our own resources to living by faith in God’s resources.

Does eph 2:8 refer to you and your personal faith?
Yes.
It refers to ALL humans and ALL humans are sinners.

Ephesians 2:8 emphasizes that salvation is entirely a work of God’s grace, and even the faith we exercise is part of that gracious gift. This understanding underscores the complete reliance on God for salvation, removing any basis for boasting in our own efforts or abilities.

Why is it past tense?
Already accomplished when it was written?
Were you saved 2000 years ago?
Why does it say “not your faith”?

Thanks

When we actually READ the Scriptures, we see that Jesus spoke these words in Matthew 26:41 upon finding Peter, James, and John asleep, after He had earlier specifically instructed them to keep watch with him. He spoke those words in an effort to keep them steadfast in their faith and service to Him.

The fact that they had fallen asleep was indicative of the weakness of their flesh, which would also be a source of temptation to them (as well as to the rest of the apostles and YOU and ME) in the coming hours of His arrest, trial, and crucifixion, resulting in most of the apostles deserting Him, and even in Peter (who had earlier been so boastful of his allegiance to Jesus) denying Him three times (as Jesus had said he would).

Jesus' words also foreshadowed the alertness and prayer that the apostles would need in the face of the persecution that they themselves would be subject to in the coming days and years after Jesus ascended back to heaven following His death and resurrection.

In 2 Peter, it is a misunderstanding on your part to believe that Peter is suggesting that we must work to be saved.

When we do the actual study we see that we come to Christ By faith. At that point we are JUSTIFIED = SAVED.
Then at that point, after we are saved, with Christ's power, we must do what we can do to add goodness to our faith, and to add knowledge to our goodness.

The Bible clearly teaches that the moment a person turns from his sin and trusts in Jesus to be forgiven of his sin, he is saved (Acts 2:37-41). He has passed from spiritual death to spiritual life (John 5:24) and been declared not guilty in God's court of law (Rom 3:21-26).

Carrying out cross is not works?
It is. But it does not save you.

It is an act of obedience and obedience is not a saving factor. WE are saved by grace, God's work through faith which is also a gift from God.

You need to understand that The Bible clearly teaches that the moment a person turns from his sin and trusts in Jesus to be forgiven of his sin, he is saved (Acts 2:37-41). He has passed from spiritual death to spiritual life (John 5:24) and been declared not guilty in God's court of law (Rom 3:21-26).

Also, In Jesus’ day, a cross was a symbol of suffering, and we all have trials and afflictions that may be very hard for us to bear—even with God’s help.

But Jesus meant something far deeper than this when He told His disciples to carry their cross. He said to them, “If anyone would come after me, he must deny himself and take up his cross daily and follow me” (Luke 9:23). In Jesus’ day, a cross wasn’t just a symbol of pain and suffering; it was mainly a symbol of death. What Jesus was telling them is that they needed to put to death their own plans and desires, and then turn their lives over to Him and do His will every day.

You see, Jesus doesn’t simply call us to believe that He existed, or even to believe that He can save us. He calls on us to commit our whole lives to Him—to trust Him alone for our salvation, and then to follow Him as His disciples. He said, “Anyone who does not carry his cross and follow me cannot be my disciple” (Luke 14:27).

Is Christ the master of your life? Have you put to death your own plans and committed yourself to His will for your life? Don’t be satisfied with anything less, for there is no greater joy in life than following Christ every day.

You are welcome and free to ask me any question.

No baptism (initiation into the new covenant) required

Can a saved person be glorified without suffering?

Our salvation is in Mary!

Blasphemy!!!

Salvation is only in Jesus Christ.

Nor is there salvation in any other, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved.”
Acts 4:12

No one is saved by Mary.

Only Jesus Christ is our Savior.

Canon 18. If anyone says that the commandments of God are, even for one that is justified and constituted in grace, impossible to observe, let him be anathema.
Trent

Christians follow Jesus Christ and His teaching.

Not the teachings of Catholicism.

Whoever transgresses and does not abide in the doctrine of Christ does not have God. He who abides in the doctrine of Christ has both the Father and the Son. 2 John 9

If you choose to follow the teachings of Catholicism that’s your choice.

Christian’s follow Jesus Christ.

Scripture opposes "ALL" works my friend.

Now that is false.

We don’t follow the works of the law of Moses but we are to obey His Commandments, His law as well as His doctrine.

He who says, “I know Him,” and does not keep His commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him. 1 John 2:4

His commandments are the way of love.

For this is the love of God, that we keep His commandments. And His commandments are not burdensome. 1 John 5:3
