Do any of them have a risen Savior? No.

What? That is a completely ridiculous response. I will ask the question again-

Can we judge the ethics of the Bible and the Quran and other holy books?

If not, then how can followers be sure that they aren't worshipping the Devil?

Sorry, but it probably contains fake books, so its probably not "God's Word".

You have yet to provide anything but theory on that.

According to the Encyclopedia Britannica, they have been proven to have been falsely ascribed "almost beyond doubt".

Conservative Christians may go against this, but they aren't exactly impartial are they?

So I have read, the majority of biblical scholars believe that they are fake.
I think its reasonable to believe then, that they probably are fake.

Second, my "sick little mind" is renewed daily by what I believe is God's Word

So you admit it, your "sick little mind" has been twisted by your religion.

Thanks for confirming the obvious.

:D

According to the authors of the New Jerusalem Bible -

"The best explanation may be that the Pastoral Epistles are letters written by a follower of Paul, conscious of inheriting his mantle and seeking to give advice and instruction for the administration of local churches. This adoption of a revered name in such circumstances was a literary convention of the times"

The term "pious fraud" was coined as a result of the avalanche of bogus gospels and epistles which accompanied the growth of Christianity in the first several centuries. (and it wasn't NON-Christians who were cranking these out) No wonder there had to be a council to determine what was genuine and what was not. But, are we simply to accept the decision of this council as to the genuine canon of the NT when the only method they had to utilize in this determination was simply VOTING FOR THE MOST POPULAR ONES?

And what does the fact that these churchmen, who were hundreds and hundreds of years NEARER the original writings than we are today, had to VOTE on their genuineness, tell us? What does the fact that some voted AGAINST some books that made the canon, and some voted FOR some that didn't make the cut, tell us?

It tells us that they had no actual method of analysis whereby to determine the authenticity of these books.

And you assume that you represent the kingdom of God. When Jesus said -

"Suffer little children to come unto me, and forbid them not; for of such is the kingdom of God" (Luke.18:16)

"Suffer" is olde english for "allow" - it does not mean to MAKE them suffer, in the more modern definition of the word "suffer". Perhaps that will help your outlook?
I don't think that my outlook needs any help, but thanks just the same. If it does need to be changed, I'd rather have God do it (you don't instill a great deal of confidence in this area). As for the children that Jesus was referring to, they where seeking Him, not mocking Him or His prophets. Kind of like you and me: I seek Him, you make fun of His prophets.

I am disappointed in you Kwag, and worried. I used to think you were just living a relatively harmless fantasy, (thinking you were a prophet and seeing miracles everyday) but now I have apparently antagonized you to the point where something behind the delusion is rearing it's ugly head.
I never said that I think myself a prophet. You said that. What I did say was that the leadership of my church was of the opinion. But I have a suspicion that you disregard church authority, so that's probably why you can't get that part.
BradtheImpaler said:
Your comment about how you would be "in the faces" of the grieving mother's is self-descriptive of what motivates you. It is the same religious obssession that fueled the Inquisition. Do you know the reasoning behind the thumb-screws and racks? Torture these people into accepting the tenents of the church and we'll be doing them a FAVOR, because then they will escape hell. (Of course, neither the tenents of the church nor the existence of hell could be proven, but what the heck)
I said I would tell them why it happened, not torture them to bow to my will. What are you smokin'? Get your facts straight (if you can).
BradtheImpaler said:
The same rationale that pervaded the minds of the Inquisitors has consumed yours. Your obssession with what you identify as the righteous judgement of God has clouded out compassion and you haven't even noticed it.
Explain to me the compassion that God showed Uzzah. Never mind. You can't. I forgot, you only read the Bible for your own purposes, not to have your human mind renewed. You need your human mind just the way it is so you can discern spiritual truths.
BradtheImpaler said:
What "enemies"? You live comfortably in 21st century America, with every comfort and convenience that has been afforded you by infidel inventors and every liberty that has been acheived for you by those who had the fortitude and initiative to lay aside their bibles long enough to sacrifice their resources (and sometimes even their lives) for political/social reform.
So I'm not allowed to have enemies? What kind of logic is that? And I'm the sick one? You need to take the log out of your own eye.

Where are the Egyptians, Kwag? Where are the chariots bearing down on you threatening to force you into sea?
They where drowned. God delivered His people BY PERFORMING A MIRACLE!!!!
BradtheImpaler said:
You're imagining yourself as an OT prophet or a NT martyr and it's all a DELUSION. What's REAL, however, is the dispassionate spirit your imaginings are breeding within you.
Why can't a prophet be NT? Ephesians 3:5. You don't think that this qualifies as persecution?

And what I am defending is God's Word. If you can't handle that, then I suggest you leave.

Since you also believe you are an "anointed prophet"

BradtheImpaler said:
You do need SOME compassion. Isn't that what a Christian is supposed to display? Anyone can rejoice when his enemies (real or imagined) are destroyed. Those Islamics who recruit suicide bombers do as much.
Once again you display your ignorance of God's Word. 1 Corinthians 5.
BradtheImpaler said:
The organized church, for 13 or more centuries, also believed it was "defending God's Word" when they advocated physical punishment for all those who didn't comply with their doctrine.
But they ignored the very thing that they were defending, didn't they? You haven't shown me that I've done that. You just don't like the fact that I am strong in the Lord. You don't know how to handle it.
BradtheImpaler said:
I have a clearer conscience "harrassing" those who falsely believe they represent the heart of an infinitely benevolent Deity, than I would harrassing the grieving mothers of mutilated children.
You forgot the part about how you don't believe this benevolent Deity performs miracles anymore. And how you don't bother to read His Word unless you are trying to prove something. You don't read it for the sake of letting God renew your mind. That's obvious.
BradtheImpaler said:
While I'm at it, shall I also make sure not to make the "Boogey Man" mad at me? But anyway - from what I understand, Satan also has very little compassion - and would no doubt have the same callousness toward the children and mothers in the little story we've been referring to as you do?
I can't help it if people like you teach others (children or adults) to persecute those who live by God's Word. You should show this compassion to all those whom you seek to lead away from God with your satanic doctrine of humanism.

BradtheImpaler said:
"Love is...kind...does not brag and is not arrogant...is not provoked...does not take into account a wrong suffered..."

Doesn't sound a lot like you
Take a look in the mirror, Mr. Humble.

Now I have to go through all this garbage that DivineNames is dishing out.

And I'll give you the same answer: Do any of these books besides the Bible have a risen Savior? That's how I jugde them. No Jesus, no sale.

You've admitted to serving Satan (the father of lies), so why should I accept this? No reason I can think of. Nothing that you've offered here is of any value to anyone but your ego.
